For anyone who cares here is what happened. My son talked me into going to the dbox and I wanted him to have fun so we went. Overall I enjoyed it! The movie was amazing and the dbox experience wasn’t bad by any means but I wouldn’t exactly call it immersive, it was fun.
Best time I’ll choose imax for sure with the exception of movies that involve vehicles and all that. I feel like mad max fury road would be amazing with dbox.
IMAX is always my first go to, but I agree movies with great car chases are so fun with DBOX! The Batman car chase in DBOX made me feel like I was also in the car lol
Same as you I have never seen a movie on Dbox so planet of the apes was my first movie it actually liked the experience I really felt it was immersive, but there was my friend who said he never even liked 4dx, so it wasn't a thing for him. I also want to include that Dbox costs more than IMAX, for the particular movie I don't think the extra cost was worth it especially when the Dbox effects weren't there for nearly half of the movie in the middle. If you are still going for Dbox go for a theater with laser projection
Almost anything else but Top Guns Maverick I would say IMAX and not DBox. And Mavericks should be watched in IMAX at least once too. Anyway, I watched KotPotA in IMAX on early access, well worth it
Screen size over gimmicks. I would never pay extra just for a vibrator in my seat
It moves completely, it doesn’t just vibrate
Are you watching a movie or going on a rollercoaster?. Any way that’s my opinion
Rollercoaster is something for 4DX, while actions and movements sync is more for Dbox.
If I eat enough edibles before I can do both.

Agreed, top gun was stellar in proper DBOX
D-Box Since I've never tried it But I'd go with the theater that's the most full
I watched it in ScreenX and had a fantastic time. Will try IMAX this weekend and update.
