do it. the bose, leather, etc is so worth it for the extra $$.

Jesusislord1111

Yea im a hip hop loving audiophile, so getting best factory sound system is definitely a driving factor. My ridgeline is almost impossible to upgrade sound system assume civic about the same or cost prohibitive. Thanks for reply

CIeMs0n

I have a white sport touring hatchback and the sound system has to be the best stock system I’ve ever had and I’ve had a bunch of vehicles.

sPaghetti_mOnster274

I wanted a hatch.. got a sedan and wished I got the hatch :(

No_Decision9646

You will not regret it!

benttwig33

Agreed

CMDR_Jetsukai

I bought a 6 speed sport touring for my wife back in April. She loves it. I've driven it a few times and it's fun to drive and has good power for a daily. It looks like it gets around 40 mpgs but she does a lot of highway driving. The stereo is really nice too. The hatchback is really useful as well. My only regret is spending $30k for a civic but these are the times we live in haha.

Jesusislord1111

Can't find a manual hatch only si sedan around me which I am considering seems like be a lot of fun! Have not had a manual in many many years and don't think wife is too keen on driving a manual ... but call is ultimately mine I might get crazy lol

CMDR_Jetsukai

The funny thing is that my wife will only drive manuals now. I taught her on my 03 WRX 20 years ago. We knew we were going to get one with a stick. The only question was whether we'd get a used one or new. We just happened to see a white hatch sitting on the lot one day and we bought it.

CIeMs0n

Gotta look around, but there are still some sport touring manuals to be had.

[deleted]

Get the manual, it takes an hour or two for your wife to learn and illiterate people in developing nations can drive a manual I’m sure your wife can too, it’s unreasonable for her to dictate a car purchase on 1-2 hours of learning

Jesusislord1111

Oh she knows how already she had a audi when we first met just both kinda used to the automatic after all these years I definitely will see if can find one seems like the CVT is a bit questionable like to remove that ambiguity point thanks

[deleted]

You can definitely find one if you’re willing to be patient for a few weeks and / or drive 200 miles for more options . Keep checking on the local stock

Jesusislord1111

I am worried we won't be seeing replenishment of 2024s since 2025s are on the way you think that's wrong?

[deleted]

I think you have a bit more time but it’s possible the 2024s could dry up sooner than expected

[deleted]

Your wife is a queen for that, I’m glad mine appreciates a good stick shift too

CMDR_Jetsukai

For sure! We just celebrated 21 years last week. Which is crazy since I just recently entered my 40s...

[deleted]

Congrats!

xXGray_WolfXx

If you don't need the extra features and want something economical and great. The sport is a decent choice. I'm very satisfied with mine for under 30k

Jesusislord1111

I really wish the sport touring had the chrome delete and sport rims. I have a 2022 ridgeline RTL-E and really enjoy all the safety features thus why I'm aiming for the high end trim. I'm already bummed at lack of heated steering wheel, and lumbar support. So even considering an accord but I want leather and don't want hybrid ... it's amazing how hard it is to get all the things I really want. I've wanted a civic hatchback my whole life...but wondering if I'm too old and should step up to accord.

ShedFarm

Why would your age dictate whether or not you should get the Civic you want, versus the Accord you believe others think you should have? I'm in my mid-fifties, and picked up my Civic Sport Touring 6spd at the end of February, to have alongside my 2022 Ridgeline. I freakin' LOVE my Civic, and am so glad I picked it up, before the Sport Touring trim is only going to be available as a hybrid CVT, starting with the 2025 model year.

Jesusislord1111

Not the car itself just available amenities, I enjoy the heated steering wheel and lumbar support of my rtl-e

CMDR_Jetsukai

I have a 6mt Sport Touring as well. How do you like the Ridgeline? I've been thinking of trading my family car which is a 2020 Passport for one. I also have a 316k mile 03 Element that I treat like a truck, but I'm thinking about parting ways with it soon. Hoping that maybe the Ridgeline can fill both of those roles.

Cheeetooos

I’m 37 and if you go with an understated color I think an 11th gen civic hatch is a perfectly grown up car.

Jesusislord1111

I'm in my 40s and I really want black but also kinda want boost blue as loved the old crx si blue's

Cheeetooos

Boost blue is awesome, but when I thought about being in my late 40s I couldn’t see myself driving around in it. I went white and love it.

Jesusislord1111

Yea don't think my wife wants to drive it in blue... I'll probably get white or if lucky black have same white on my ridgeline so be a classy match

Cheeetooos

Can’t go wrong with any of the 3 colors in question. Comes down to personal preference. Anecdotally I work in insurance and show up to business meetings in the white hatch and get compliments by people who are legit surprised to see a Civic looking so refined.

Jesusislord1111

10th gen civics are my favorite looking economy cars of all time. The 11th gen hatch captured most of what I love about the styling they are super sharp to me

joesportsgamer

Look into the integra too

Jesusislord1111

Yea I have a bit. Would love to have one but think I'm already pushing my budget with the civic

Jesusislord1111

Wow just googled to see what they were coming in at, and a used 2024 with 5k miles they only asking 30k! That seems like a steal

vico2k5

I'm in a similar situation. 😊 Never thought I'd consider a new car due to depreciation. Now I do: a new sports touring hatchback. My plan is to wait till Thanksgiving and hope the release of 2025 hybrids will lower the 2024 prices slightly.

Jesusislord1111

Yea I feel pressure to get one in next couple weeks due to 2025 coming out. Tons of sport trims around but hardly any sport touring. One dealership has like 4 with blacked out emblems and spoiler with like $1500 off MSRP so feel it's as good a time as any

Mysterious_Beat6648

I only have the sport sedan but the hatchback alone is worth it. My buddy has one and he moved out of his parents house in 2 trips (except the bed being taken in another buddies truck)

Jesusislord1111

Yea I live on a farm so being able fo haul feed and stuff cargo space is super important and I love the way they look

AxzoYT

If you want to wait a little bit, the sport touring hatchback hybrid will come to dealerships and they are expected to get almost double the MPG, up to you tho

Jesusislord1111

I'm a weirdo and actually trying to get some of the last non electric/ hybrid cars

AxzoYT

I think they’ll still have the non hybrid civics, just with the facelift (rip the foglights on the 2025)

No-Mycologist3618

I get 35 mpg combined in my 24 ST Hatch and the 25 will get around 50 combined… not quite double. One of the reasons that made me still content with my 24… they could have done better with the hybrid

BoringJuiceBox

If you’re rich or high income, go for it. If you’re a normie or younger with no savings please get a 5-10 year old car and save thousands on insurance costs. Just my $.02

Jesusislord1111

I bought my first new car a couple years ago... gonna be hard to ever go back to used hope never have to. The vehicles I like retain their value and I take good care of my things so new makes most sense at this stage of my life. Why I make sure I'm making a decision I can live with for 10 plus years .. agree with your philosophy tbough

ragingduck

A 90’s civic isn’t going to have a lot of modern safety and convenience features. You don’t even get a CD player! CarPlay alone is a big argument for a more modern car.

Jesusislord1111

Yea I was gonna go old-school and do my own audio upgrades but safty factors are big selling point

Bee-kind8

As others have said the 24 sport touring hatchback 6 speed is awesome. We had to go out of state to find one. No regrets, it’s all the fun of the SI + heated seats and the functionality of the hatch and better gas mileage. Had a 23 SI when we couldn’t find a manual hatch, and got hit badly enough that we ended up with the newer hatch we wanted all along.  Sad to see the manual going away with the new lineup but if the trade off is more hybrids, so be it.

Llamasinthearmy

I read your comment about being an audiophile. I would guess the Bose in the hatch sounds as good as the sedan but I love mine in the Si. Another downfall to the 90s and early 2000s stuff is it’s getting harder to find parts especially if you get anything with a B series. If you find them they are crazy expensive. Plus with the new stuff you get all the creature comforts you want in a daily. I don’t use most of it but the system and CarPlay are wonderful. And if you do buy wait till the end of the month you’ll get a better deal than they are already offering.

Jesusislord1111

Interesting difficulty finding parts would be frustrating. Thanks for input I pretty sure will be getting noting older than 2020 now and most likely 24

Alejandro2412

I have a 2022 ST hatchback with 35k miles No issues at all besides a weird creaking sound under the steering wheel, had it looked at and it's a loose screw apparently. If I had a lower monthly payment (my fault) I would be happier with it but honestly it's the perfect daily. Awesome sound system, decently fast, decent MPG, remote start works great. I don't really have any complaints on the car itself.

Jesusislord1111

Great to hear this is the info I'm looking for thanks

TheGreatZay_

Mine is so worth it

Latter_Twist5976

I traded my Mustang in several weeks ago, just wanted something cheaper all around. I settled for a 2023 sport touring manual and absolute love it. I originally was going to get a ‘21 they just happened to have the used ‘23 for 2k more. It has so many safety features and drives great. Getting close to 40mpg. It’s not a ‘24 but I don’t think there’s much difference between the 23-24.

Jesusislord1111

Thanks for reply good to hear your getting 40 mpg real world. I get nearly 24 mpg in my ridgeline so thinking I'll get near 40 in civic

wolf19r

I’ve got almost 8k on mine in 6 months and I’ve been really enjoying it. It’s also my first civic.

Jedi4ce

I went with the Black 24 hatchback ST Manual over the SI and am very happy with the car! Tinted with the HPD spoiler. I'm still getting used the to clutch in it, as it's quite different than my older manuals I've driven. Aside from that, sound system is great and I really like the layout of the touchscreen. Couple of downsides. Has considerable highway road noise which I was disappointed in...A bit too much rev hang in the manual which can be a bit annoying. But overall 7/10.

Jesusislord1111

I blast music 99% of the time so I'm sure I'll be fine. I had a 2010 RDX and was shocked how much road noise it had much more than my 2012 crosstour or my 22 ridgeline has.

Will_MadeULook

I went from a Silverado to a 2024 Sport Touring. The electric powered seats, Bose, sunroof along with the 1.5, in my opinion, is worth it. And to mention I went from 15 mpg on the truck to 33-40 mpg in the Civic. This model won’t be available with a 1.5 once the hybrids roll out. I’m not a fan of hybrids anyway so it suits me. I’m sure someone would want to buy it later if I wanted to sell a couple years down the road since it will be obsolete. The hatch is a big plus too, you can do a lot more with it than what you think.

Jesusislord1111

Thanks... the bose sound system probably will be a deciding factor on me spending a bit more over the ex-l.

MovieJunkie21

I’ve had my 2022 ST hatch for almost 2 years and I’m absolutely in love with it. Still in love as I was the day I got her.

Jesusislord1111

I'm anxious to fall in love with one... only downside is now wife wants to take ownership of my ridgline which I also lobe! Lol

MovieJunkie21

Why are you anxious to fall in love with one?

Jesusislord1111

Ive always wanted a civic, almost got one over ridgline 2 years ago. Anxious in a good way...excited to pull the trigger which I think I will this week..

Fear_The_Liquid

I propose another option.  The Mazda 3 hatchback. I have the top trim and it’s incredible. Punches way above its weight class in terms of luxury. It’s quick, turbocharged and has awd.  It also comes in a 6 speed, and has a 32k trim that is pretty much top spec. It is just missing the 10 inch display

Jesusislord1111

Whats your MPG? I'm a pretty big honda loyalist. My buddy had a nice Mazda small suv I was super impressed with like 10 years ago. But I probably won't even consider another make of car this go around ans maybe ever... I've had 3 Hondas and 2 acuras in my life... and a bunch of other shit I always come back to honda

Fear_The_Liquid

Admittedly for my commute - not amazing. I get like 20mpg city, and 30-35 highway.  My commute is about 5 miles, and there are 10 stoplights. On a good day? I hit greens at every light and get 25. On a bad day, it’s under 20.  I would at least give it a test drive. Current Mazda is a whole different game than older ones.

No_Cranberry_6412

I have a 24 sport touring hatchback. I definitely think you should get it. It drives so smooth, the sound system is great for being factory. I just love my car. I went from a 13 doge dart to a 24 civic I’ll only be getting Honda cars from now on.

Victah92

I got the 2022 sport touring hatchback due to all the safety features, bells and whistles. Leather seats are comfortable, banging boses sound system, classy interior, plenty of space for passengers, good gas mileage, sporty enough to pass and not too slow. Plenty of cargo room in the back and you can fold up the rear seats if you need more room. Plus it's a hatchback in 2024 so it's pretty unique compared to all the trucks and SUVs right now. Lastly the styling and looks of the hatchback just looks so good compared to the sedan IMO This video convinced me to get it - https://youtu.be/iwViYhMfWWI?si=9qdstDCRXpxmLuuV

Aech40

You’ve gotten a ton of answers as to why you should buy the sport touring, so I’m gonna play devils advocate here: If you don’t grab the 6 speed manual you’re stuck with a cvt. Not inherently bad just worth pointing out The 1.5 is just fine but isn’t the champion of reliability Honda is known for. If you plan to keep it to any high mileage, Iwould be weary Since you’re coming from a 1500, may I suggest a Hybrid Ford Maverick. I own a civic but my mother has a 23 xlt and wow is it a great vehicle. She often averages 45+ mpg. Its comfortable, the bed is convenient (you would know since you’re coming from a truck), and for being a pickup its interior is pretty awesome.

Jesusislord1111

Thanks you, I have heard the 1.5 is not as amazing as the underpowered 2.0 and the cat does scare me a bit. I have only had good experiences with Honda so I maybe a bit to trusting they have it worked out

MewtwoMuavePearl

Get the sport touring I love my car

thesquilax

i didn’t think i would buy a newer car until i saw the new generation civic hatchback. always wanted a civic hatchback from EKs to EGs. i test drove the different trims and fell in love with the Sport Touring. i agree with anyone, those Bose speakers are stellar and every other features like heated seats, upgraded infortainment, and 1.5t sold me. i didn’t buy brand new but lucky and found a certified used for 26k with 9k miles. it’s good enough for me. have had no issues and is at 12k at the moment. i love this thing hope that helps your decision OP. let me know anything else about it and happy to answer. best of luck!

Jesusislord1111

Wow that's awesome you found a low mileage used for such a great discount I have been considering waiting for 2025 deliveries come in see if anyone swaps out to take advantage of similar situation. Thanks

Nick7014

Buy a cpo one, meet the wife in the middle.

Jesusislord1111

Cpo?

Nick7014

Certified pre owned.

Jesusislord1111

Yea she actually wants to go new but I might like a gen 10 cpo more honestly

Nick7014

If you need any help with the car buying process, I do sell cars for a living. If you have any questions you can PM me.

Jesusislord1111

Wow that is very generous offering, I might take you up on that. I am definitely trying to do this right, it is a process I do not enjoy thats why I buy Hondas so they last long enough to not do it often lok

Nick7014

Just let me know, dealer can suck I know.

integratypes

Get a type R

Jesusislord1111

I wish....

integratypes

The new Hybrid is faster than the SI so I'd get that.

Jesusislord1111

Hmmmm it have the 2.0 or 1.5 with jt?

integratypes

2.0 NA. They are killing the 1.5T

Jesusislord1111

Interesting...I am hearing the 2.0 is bullet proof and the 1.5 not quite typical honda quality soooo

integratypes

Yeah. 1.5T is an economy engine from what others have said. I had one and it's tuneable but the clutch is garbage and needed replaced to handle more boost. They do get decent mpg. Later models fixed the oil sludge issue, so I heard about on first gens.

Fearless_Necessary40

Si! Si! Si! I got mine for $29k brand spanking new in blazing orange pearl with the hpd kit. 2 years ago and im about to hit 50k miles And you can tune it if you want a lil more YEAAAAAAA under the hood. Ive been running 22lb boost for 2 years and i mean i ABUSE THIS CAR. ZERO PROBLEMS.

Jesusislord1111

Yea I was looking at them more deeply today, they have one in black I'll test drive Thursday when I get my oil change

Fearless_Necessary40

Have you drove any old si’s and anything with vtec before??

Jesusislord1111

Not really, I used to vallet and maybe took a couple around an extra few blocks but that's all. Always loved them... I wish they still made a hatch. This whole thing started with me looking for a early 90s si hatch to play with

Fearless_Necessary40

It will never ever ever live up to the true vtec experience. So dont expect a power surge from hell like the old days when u hit vtec. Its very upsetting but aye ya get what ya can. Its better than having no si’s or type r’s

skilz99

The cost of cars these days. Realizing civics used to be cheap in the past now they cost more and we consumers hype it too much to the point where corporate scumbags, take advantage of it. Realistically speaking keep ur car till it falls apart and get a recent used model. ( I know wat I said will get lots of dislikes) but it sucks that big people take advantage of price increases making it hard for normal people to afford one :(

Jesusislord1111

My truck is reaching millage where expensive maintenance needs to be done so trying to offset that by just getting something that better serves my needs

skilz99

Yup that's really valid point. My car will have the same fate soon in a few years or months. Look for a more newer model used. Maybe Tacoma or Frontier

Holiday-Ad8209

I’m here to tell you after owning a 2018 Sport Touring Hatchback, brand new off the lot; the dirt is in the details. I am currently selling mine as it’s getting close to 100k with 6 years of bullshit. Honda quality has gone way down. From the oil/fuel dilution issue, (which can blow up your motor if you’re not one to read your mail..) the lackadaisical response time of the touch screen display, the rusted out washer fluid motor from snow building up in and around the area. The AC condenser shot and a recall to fix it for them only to still charge me. The rear wiper blade motor stripped. The leather interior has shrunk and looks terrible. I don’t know about new ones but the car is loud. And I mean loud inside especially on the highway to the point that the hands free built mic is unusable. Besides the horrible customer service Honda delivers, you have to go through hoops to get warranty claims or recalls done. Bottom line, I’ll never buy another Honda again. Also, not sure if you’ve heard, but they’re staring to go 100 percent electric in the very near future, so don’t expect much from anything new as it will only affect they’re future battery powered endeavours. I’d stay away. Cheers! My experience only. I have lots of pics if anyone wants to see what I’m talking about. And there’s other little things too. The car is flimsy. Period!

Jesusislord1111

Interesting sorry to hear that, I have just over 15k on my 22 NART, and I have no complaints other than phone charger

oakc510

It's a great and reliable car. However, are you certain you want jump from a truck to a compact sedan? You'll lose the utility of a truck but gain in MPG, convenience and comfort in a sedan.

Jesusislord1111

I don't use my full size truck much, the NART is enough of a truck for me and now I have a 200 mile commute 4 days a week so need something safe, and practical

oakc510

I see. I guess you made up your mind then. Not too long ago there was a post about someone putting ~250k miles in their civic in one year.

Jesusislord1111

Wow! Yea I don't want to put even the nearly 40k on my ridgeline gonna distribute the miles between the 2

oakc510

Yeah. It's unbelievable but not a shock considering it's a Honda. Found the article. [https://www.caranddriver.com/news/a41889256/honda-civic-high-mileage-for-sale/](https://www.caranddriver.com/news/a41889256/honda-civic-high-mileage-for-sale/)

Jesusislord1111

Wow wild it still being sold for 18k

Klhoe318

I bought the EX 23’. Returned it and got the sport touring 24’. WORTH IT EVERY way. Hatch is so much better than sedan.

Magical_Badboy

These cars are slow (sans type r).

Jesusislord1111

Wish could have a type R I'm sure they are quick enough for me with great MPG

Magical_Badboy

Don’t get me wrong I love my touring but it’s my only gripe.

Jesusislord1111

You feel stressed merging onto highway? Seats comfortable in your opinion?

Magical_Badboy

No, not at all. Seats are nice, probably like a 7/10 on comfortability.

Outrageous-Carob-236

sounds like you need a new ram🤠.

Jesusislord1111

I really don't! I actually hate driving things so big always have

Outrageous-Carob-236

from what I’ve seen you get that motherfucking comfort boy or you want to turn up the speed racer go ahead that bitch agile and fun. It has all sorts of fun things to discover and that bitch bad as hell too boy. You pull up in that thing you look slick as hell come on now. It’s the civic lifestyle.

Jesusislord1111

Lol I'm just trying to go from a to b really but I do want to do it in style

Outrageous-Carob-236

hell yeah that’s style right there how the hell them boys make that shit so crispy.

DaddyKunt

Should go with the new hybrid hatchback once it’s out pal. Sport touring hybrid way better

Jesusislord1111

Arnt they going to be more expensive? I'm more concerned with the hybrid reliability than I am the cvt

DaddyKunt

Honda cvts are great. Maintence it and it will last. It’s not a sports car and you seem like ya won’t stress the functionality of it.

Jesusislord1111

Glad to hear you say that... and yea I at times drive 90mph, but I don't do any dumb stuff

DaddyKunt

Gas mpg will feel great too

Jesusislord1111

Yea thats the main reason looking at a civic, bit less maintains than something AWD

DaddyKunt

You have experience with awd?

Jesusislord1111

Yes I have insisted on having AWD cars for like a decade. I've had a RDX, Subaru Baja, crosstour, and currently a ridgeline.

DaddyKunt

Which one was best?

Jesusislord1111

They all pretty much the same (honda/acura) ones away. I think I slightly favored my 2012 RDX SHAWD over them all though

DaddyKunt

Rdx over the Subaru?

Jesusislord1111

I actually only had the Subaru for a few months till I hit a deer...interior quality made me not want to get another Subaru though

StockN

96-00 civic can be had for cheap. I do enjoy my new vehicle, but my ek is so much more fun. Easier to work on as well

1_misunderstood_man

As someone who owns both an old honda (modified y49 crx si) and a 23 civic sport touring, I will give you an honest answer from actual experience and knowledge. No new car of today( besides supercars and purpose built cars) is ever going to give you the feeling and feedback of a car 2000s and older. With that said, this generation civic isn't a bad choice, especially in the sport touring trim. All the options are nice, and while yes personally there's others I'd prefer to have over the ones that are available. The bose system is great for stock and has a solid sound quality, but personally, I'd prefer more thump. Seats are comfortable, but having a 21 civic before this, i preferred the seats in the older civic. I'm a practical driver when driving the civic as I have the CRX for fun driving, and I get 34mpg. The civic is cvt, and I would've gotten the manual, but the wife drives the civic more than I do, and while she knows how to drive manual and actually learned on the CRX prefers not to. I would defs recommend getting the manual trans as from what I've read, honda will be discontinuing it as an option for the civic besides in SI and Type-R trim. This is my honest opinion and assessment. Do what you will with this information and good luck in your search.

NOSE-GOES

I have a 23 sport touring and love it. It’s a 6spd manual which they will discontinue. They only thing I’d ding it for is road noise but it’s not a dealbreaker and new tires can mitigate that. HOWEVER, if you don’t require a manual transmission you might consider the incoming 25 hybrid hatchback, it looks awesome. More power than a civic Si and some updated interior features including lower road noise and suspension tuning. If you can holdout a few months I think that’s an even better option.

Jesusislord1111

Do we know the msrp on the 25 hybrid yet? You guys are starting to make me consider it...I am test driving a Si tomorrow

NOSE-GOES

It’s making me consider it hard too! If only it could I have a manual, that would be an easy choice for me. The MSRP is pretty similar to a higher trim of the current lineup, I want to say it starts around 29k for the sedan and up to 32-33k for the hatchback top trim. Si at MSRP is probably hard to find, but I imagine a lot of dealers will mark up the hybrids for a while too

Jesusislord1111

Si I'm looking at is like 1500 below msrp so very tempting

NOSE-GOES

That is tempting, and a great deal in today’s market! The si is relatively safe to light tunes and could probably beat the hybrid handsomely

Jesusislord1111

Yea I'm not even really a tuner type of guy so having it stock probably be enough for me and agree I really want a hatch but always had desire for a si so it's tempting be nice to kinda have a " special" honda and it's about as nice of one I could pull trigger on

NOSE-GOES

You could consider an Integra! It’s a well positioned mix between the Si and the hatchback functionality

Jesusislord1111

Yea I drove a 99 integra and really loved it...I should take a deeper look actually found aspec 2024 with just 5k Miles for 30k$ but quick little Google search seemed to suggest there is some quality issues with them so makes me wonder why this one is available

NOSE-GOES

I haven’t driven either yet but the 99 Integra is probably way different feeling. I haven’t seen much about issues with the new integras yet, either way it should still have factory warranty unless it was crashed or something. 30k seems great for a 24 with low miles

Jesusislord1111

Oh I'm sure they have made some advancements in past 25 years lol

WrxAbuser

Because it’s over priced for what you get

win10bash

Because the Ex is a better value.

Jesusislord1111

I need more then the base model offers

win10bash

That's why I suggested the EX instead of the base model.

Jesusislord1111

My bad thought ex was base I am open to that trim also I went with rtl-e over BE on my NART cause was better value

Jesusislord1111

UPDATE: I Pulled the trigger on lunar silver metallic one waiting for her to be cleaned and then on my 100 mile journey home
