Did he ever come back up or did they only pull up the bag of rocks š®

Also. Think about how much energy heās exerting on top of holding his breath. Absolutely vile and upsetting this is a necessity for people. Unfortunately itās generally for the metal needed for the same devices we use to type these comments with :(
As a volunteer firefighter I learned our SCOT packs had 45 minutes of air, but working and exerting brings it down to 15 minutes. Fortunately thatās enough time for a well trained ladder company to complete the max amount of work theyād have to do and the longest an engine company would every need to get close enough to open the lines and douse the fire. Unless itās a class D heavy metal fire which is becoming more and more common with rechargeable devices. Then itās more than Iād ever seen.
So the dude has a minute and a half max. Either the had air pumped in via a hose and that was somehow enough to have someone clear and breath from. Our the poor guy got stuck in the ground moving underneath (like maybe why the surface of the water almost appears bubbles it moving so much) and he wouldāve been crushed and drown.
Harsh reality if thatās the case. Maybe a translation might help our sick curiosity.
I think you're underestimating this guy's ability or overestimating the danger here.
The hole this guy jumped into is no more than 6-7m deep, based on the amount of line that was fed in and the number of pulls it took to get the bag of dirt up.
That might seem pretty deep to some, but to put things into perspective free divers dive over 100m deep for 5+ minutes and experienced spear fishers can be actively hunting at over 40m deep for 2+ minutes.
Is what this guy is doing sketchy as fuck? Yeah it is, but this doesn't appear to be his first time, plus we don't know what kind of tools are down there or maybe there's more room than it seems since we can't see into the water, so even if he doesn't have air and if all he's doing is digging a sack of dirt into a bag 7m deep that takes him a few minutes, I don't think he's as doomed as you're making it seem.
Expect he's not holding his breath, he has a small ass garden hose and a pump feeding him air, granted it ain't much but he's still being fed oxygen...
The survivor of Hathsim. Got goose bumps thinking about the first time I read the mistborn series. Currently working my way through Rhythm of War. Off subject a little bit but RIP Wayne.
I was a commercial diver for 3 years, even with an umbilical (rope, air, comms) I would still get freaked out in tight places. What always made me calm down was to stop and breath for a minute or so and I would be good to move on
Bare in mind that you're supposed to use a special kind of filter on the pump to breathe air with. The oil in the engine that's pumping the air can seriously fuck up your lungs.
In this kind of situation, where equipment failure or team mate error could easily get me killed just as likely as death by wild animal; I would never do it.
Were this some kind of attraction with proper safety harnesses and somewhere to pop out of at the bottom; Iād love it.
No. Fucking. Shit. What the hell was your first clue? The fact weāre commenting on Reddit from some comfortable position not in the middle of nowhere about to jump into a water filled hole, or what?
I don't like it and it freaks me out, but, for some reason, I can watch it because it's not "me" jumping into the mud water hole.
I'll watch bungee jumping videos. I'm never doing that. Not a fan. Being up that high is a little terrifying. But I'll watch those because of morbid curiosity.
Thank you!! I seen them pulling the line up then a bag appeared... I'm like wait I thought that was dude coming back up WITH a bag... where the hell did he go??
Which ones?
Elemental Lithium is not able to be safely mined with hands, i don't think.
I think it comes from taking large quantities of earth known to have lithium and extracting it that way
Which other elements are in our electronics that he could be mining?
Silicon?
Copper
It's got to be something that can be found in large (relatively) amounts in a single piece, like Gold
Yep they were mining for reddit karma and they hit the mother load. Iām very claustrophobic and I squirmed the time even holding my breath at one point uncomfortable af but I still keep watching. Idk why I do it to myselfā¦
The only thing that would make this safer is if they had a trebuchet attached to his rope, for an emergency escape, in case the air compressor failed....
This goes against everything Minecraft has taught me; don't dig straight down. Especially in water. At least that air compressor and hose are providing air... Until it springs a leak anyway.
For people thinking he's holding his breath for the duration of the video he's not. He's doing something called compressor mining where they literally breathe using an air compressor and dig up rocks in these holes. More of a 3rd world country type deal bit the effects of it are as bad it you would think.
Is this a compressor mine? Like [this one](https://youtu.be/8psB-o-er5k?si=ZOljPmp3KCa0fJR4) ?
Apparently, they work in the dark and the walls could collapse on them.
We need these guys to hit up oak Island and get that shit figured out. I still say the reason oak Island has a hole called the money pit is because the amount of money people have sunk into it to discover there is nothing there.
We canāt determine anything by this video. Bro went down the hole to the left and then they pull up the bag from the hole on the right. First clip the water level is significantly lower in both holes. Did some of it cave in perhaps? We donāt know. Did he make it? We donāt know. They got the bag tho.
People are saying he has to stay down until he gets an amount of rocks and i thought they were joking, but genuinely where did he go and how does he breathe
Isnāt there something bad about drinking just straight air from an air compressor? I feel like Iāve heard that somewhere. Idk maybe it came out if my ass
Did he ever come back up or did they only pull up the bag of rocks š® Edit: Does this remind anyone of the pits of Hathsim Atium mines from Mistborn or am I the only nerd here? https://mistborn.fandom.com/wiki/Allomancy
He has to stay down there until he collects all the rocks.
ROCK & STONE BROTHA
ROCK AND STONE TO THE BONE
Rock and Stone in the Heart!
Did somebody say rock and stone?!
Brings new meaning to Fair Trade.
I must know this ^
Thank you me too
Hold your breath for the length of the videoā¦ š±

He literally has a tube from an air compressor to breathe from am I getting gaslighted or what??? How am I the only one who sees that??
I think folks dont get he breathing the pumped air...
As the wife of a firefighter/chief of 30+ years, this was so interesting to me!
I think you're underestimating this guy's ability or overestimating the danger here. I saw what I saw
He is if anything happens to that hole, if it collapses or whatnot.. he's in serious trouble.
Expect he's not holding his breath, he has a small ass garden hose and a pump feeding him air, granted it ain't much but he's still being fed oxygen...
So he lives?
Just because you don't see him come up doesn't mean he died... Lmao
He LIVES!!!
Heās gathering the next bag.
Did not expect to see a Brando Sando reference here, bless you.
This seems like a dream compared to scar marks on every inch.
I get that reference. The survivor approves.
I'm finally reading The Lost Metal.
Mistborn was an absolutely amazing series. Cheers fellow fan š¤š»
The next guy has to tie a rope around the last guy to pull him up.
The survivor of Hathsim. Got goose bumps thinking about the first time I read the mistborn series. Currently working my way through Rhythm of War. Off subject a little bit but RIP Wayne.
SURRRRVIVVVVVVVEEEEEEE
No. he served his purpose getting the single bag of rocks and mud
Once you go down, you become a sack of rocks.
"oh they're pulling the guy back" "oh they pulled out a bag of min- WHERE'S THE GUY?"
He has to stay down there until he collects all the rocks.
during his 8 hours shift
Today he is covering for Dan from accounting, so itāll be a 12hr shift.
The hole is magic and turns humans in to gems. He's sacrificing himself to feed the village.
I was a commercial diver for 3 years, even with an umbilical (rope, air, comms) I would still get freaked out in tight places. What always made me calm down was to stop and breath for a minute or so and I would be good to move on
Iāve got a sneaking suspicion that the guy who jumped into the 20+ foot deep mud hole wasnāt able to stop and breathe for a minute
It never even showed him come back up lol
Heās taking his time to get calm
Like REEAALLY calm.
...dead calm.
He has an air hose wrapped around himself to act as many purposes
Bare in mind that you're supposed to use a special kind of filter on the pump to breathe air with. The oil in the engine that's pumping the air can seriously fuck up your lungs.
Not sure why itās so difficult for others to see this or understand that itās there.
What does that even mean
It means it's for breathing, signalling and hoisting- I imagine.
You win the braincells award homie. Everyone else is fighting for the last one
Lollll yes
You mean the line they pull back up that's attached to a bag of rocks?
The thing all wrapped around his body that's bright yellow and very hard to miss
Itās a different line. Itās hard to tell, but itās a different material.
In this kind of situation, where equipment failure or team mate error could easily get me killed just as likely as death by wild animal; I would never do it. Were this some kind of attraction with proper safety harnesses and somewhere to pop out of at the bottom; Iād love it.
They limit the the points of failure by only having one piece of equipment
Two. The guy with the rope, and the guy manning the pump.
If youāre doing this kind of mining, there arenāt safe alternatives.
Yeah, everyone saying I wouldnāt do it clearly isnāt living this guys circumstances.
No. Fucking. Shit. What the hell was your first clue? The fact weāre commenting on Reddit from some comfortable position not in the middle of nowhere about to jump into a water filled hole, or what?
Luckily his massive balls probably helped to descend. Fuck all that.
Sparely oxygen š³
Sparely any.
How can you all be in this sub? I'd assume most of you are claustrophobic... why do this to yourself
This was poorly suggested to me by the reddit algorithms. I'm looking through the comments before I mute this sub for forever.
Next time I complain how I earn a living sitting at my desk Iāll think of this
Wait WHAT the Frick? A one way SNUBA dive š
In 30,000 years they will find this man mummified, never knowing he was diving for some rocks.
Thanks for leaving us with no idea what happened to the man who jumped in the hole!
Thank you!! I seen them pulling the line up then a bag appeared... I'm like wait I thought that was dude coming back up WITH a bag... where the hell did he go??
And the kid nearby, so dangerous
New fear unlocked
Death?
Death by drowning in a cramped muddy hole whilst "mining"
Fear of 30,000 year old, muddy, underground skeletons holding rocks? EDIT: antiquasubterranocceulutumotenersaxumphobia
Precisely
What are they mining for
probably the rare metals that we use in our electronic devices
Which ones? Elemental Lithium is not able to be safely mined with hands, i don't think. I think it comes from taking large quantities of earth known to have lithium and extracting it that way Which other elements are in our electronics that he could be mining? Silicon? Copper It's got to be something that can be found in large (relatively) amounts in a single piece, like Gold
Cobalt
Buddy, given their work set up, I don't think they have a level of safety concern and awareness that precludes mining rare earth minerals by hand.
New fears for us to view
Yep they were mining for reddit karma and they hit the mother load. Iām very claustrophobic and I squirmed the time even holding my breath at one point uncomfortable af but I still keep watching. Idk why I do it to myselfā¦
Same tbh
Looks like the cobalt mines in the Congo
Was anyone else waiting for that kid to switch off the air compressor!?
Dude! Whereās the dude? Did they leave him down there?
He has an air hose
Spare+ barely= sparely
Maybe it's Sparsely + Barely
Kinda reminds me of those miles of holes out near the Nazca lines.
Nope
"Deep tight hole"š¤£
Surprised he can fit down there with balls that big
Damn, the mental fortitude to do thisā¦
Someone should tell them that you get just as much dirt at the top of the hole .
The guy didn't have any oxygen when he dived in!! Is he Aquaman??
The only thing that would make this safer is if they had a trebuchet attached to his rope, for an emergency escape, in case the air compressor failed....
That must be that hole to China that I've been hearing about
What the hell are they mining?
Cobalt used to make batteries for the electric cars
thanks man
What are they mining for
Bitcoin
Cobalt to build batteries for electric cars
This goes against everything Minecraft has taught me; don't dig straight down. Especially in water. At least that air compressor and hose are providing air... Until it springs a leak anyway.

Glad to see Elon upgraded their ropes ā¤ļø he treats them so well
Hehhehā¦ deep tight holeā¦ hehhehā¦
A deep tight wet hole no less
They on that blood diamond grind
Dude has balls made of an indestructible material unknown to humankind.
Bro did NOT hesitate š¦
What happened to my boy in the hole? Fuck that job
Is this a compressor mine? Like [this one](https://youtu.be/8psB-o-er5k?si=ZOljPmp3KCa0fJR4) ? Apparently, they work in the dark and the walls could collapse on them.
Why don't they dig the hole much bigger? Why operate in such a tiny space, and why under water?
I watched this on a documentary actually they were mining for gold.
Hate to be that guy, but itās notā¦technically miningā¦ theyāre just picking stuff up but they happen to be underwater.
Fuck that
There is air being pumped down to the person. You can see the air pump in the background. The yellow hose is the airline.
š³
Barely having oxygen is scary enough, I could not imagine sparely having oxygen
Title describes my last sexual experience
They sacrificed the guy to the mud gods for a bag of rocks.
They just trade him for the bag or what?
I for sure thought they were pulling up his unconscious body.
Wait until I show OSHA this video. Oh wait......
It is sad that this exists on our planet. Humans are horrible to each other
And he was never seen or heard from againā¦
Dangerous!? No shit bro is still down there filling bags.!
Unbelievable.
Note to self, donāt jump into random puddles in Africa
You see air compressor running dude feeding the line. That's some nasty dry air he is breathing
I thought cave diving was my worst nightmare. A new number 1
Is this how Elon Musk's family got so rich?
NO
Why do they hate shoes?
What are they mining
I feel like I need to ask if this is just suicide? Where the dude go?
Legend has it that the dude is still down there, mining.
Why not drain all the water?
So the guy never resurfaces? It's a one way mining operation lol.
you had me at deep right hole
He ded.
What are they mining
What are they mining?
Did they make some kind of swap? Geezer for a bag of rocks. Seems unfair somehow...
Bro where is he?
Caption is a very in-depth description of my exās vagina
I HATE that this rich continent has been reduced to this kind of mess. And for what/who?!? endless greed
We need these guys to hit up oak Island and get that shit figured out. I still say the reason oak Island has a hole called the money pit is because the amount of money people have sunk into it to discover there is nothing there.
āsparelyāā¦.that is all
I was waiting for the guy to pop back up, watched it twice incase I missed it the first time

How our phones are made
Oof
Guys, some context??
Ummmā¦ I only saw a bag get pulled up. Do they just sacrifice a guy for every mined bag?
relieved late fear rhythm punch apparatus subtract squeeze workable seed *This post was mass deleted and anonymized with [Redact](https://redact.dev)*
Legend has it heās still in the hole to this day
So what tye of mineral or rock r they looking for? Diamonds?
What in the wild world this is so messed up
Is he dead?
Serious question, why not just pump the water out, no pump or is it a natural spring and just fill back up, like whatās going on
People are saying he has to stay down until he gets an amount of rocks and i thought they were joking, but genuinely where did he go and how does he breathe
This might be a dumb question. But why not have an airline to breathe through as well? Can't you use a tube as long as you don't go too deep?
Im just SHOOK that Africans have smart phones š
They actually flood the holes in purpose so they can go deeper without reinforcing the wall.
And this is the way
This is as close to being āborn of the Earthā as it gets
Where TF is the guy?
No itās an egregious act towards mining.
Why pants
Did you see bros foot?Ā
No way šš
Dangerous and dumb
WHERE'S THE MAN?! was that a rope harness, or a breathing tube? Does he *have* a breathing tube?!...
Also microbes right up the nose
What are they mining?
WHERE IS THE DUDE???
For about 20 dollars a week. This guy has balls of steel.
Donāt do this. That could easily cave in.
Thatās crazy I didnāt know there were special men who turn into a bag of rocks when they get wet.
I thought whoever wrote the caption was talking about my butthole! But then the video started playing and I was like- phew!
I've been searching for a woman like this all my life
Title makes me want to call my ex.
Notice how the rope doesnāt really go anywhere out of the second guys hands? Yeahā¦ itās not that deep.
Sparely ?
Some of them look too young to be working there outside of the main guy. Is this one of those child labor mines?
Isnāt there something bad about drinking just straight air from an air compressor? I feel like Iāve heard that somewhere. Idk maybe it came out if my ass
Wtf yall looking for down there
Can't they just drain the hole with a bucket first? Kinda like a water well...
Makes you want to stop bitching about whatever job you currently have lol
Can someone educate us on why this is the only way, why this mine is under water, or any other additional context? Captain, please?
Wh... where's the guy?
Iām guessing (hoping) there is an air pocket area he is in and waits for them to send the bag back down or something?
God I love deep tight holes
And people complain about having to work at McDonald's or go to work period.... š¤£
