He put up 24/4/3 that season on 48/38/82 splits. Rockets fans acted like Jalen Green was still the right pick over Mobley for putting up worse numbers on significantly worse efficiency in year 3 than Sexton btw
I was a big Sexton fan, the problem was that he’s a 6 foot SG and everyone was expecting him to be a more traditional PG. He’s a real nice 6th man or spot starter though, great for a bucket off the bench
Crazy how I was downvoted for saying this back then when he was still on the team lol
Guess it’s a lot easier to be objective about a player if they aren’t on your team anymore
Sexton never had a month like Green just had to finish up the season which is why the trajectory game never favors him (green averaged 28 on 40% from 3 - taking 9 a game, with 7 assists. Sexton will never be capable of that
was coming to say exactly this.
That random ass game in middle of the season where he single-handedly dominated the Nets.
Remember the Sex-Land shirts w/ Darius????
I also remember when Sexton got drafted they were like "What would you say to LeBron to re-sign and come back to Cleveland?" he was half-ass excited about it because we all knew.
Just to be clear. You think having Sexton, Lauri and Agbaji would be better than Mitchell?! Their team won 31 games last season.
Their last season in Cleveland we won 44 games.
Mitchell elevates the entire roster. Nobody we lost in the trade did.
I believe we'd have been better off not making that trade, yes. I don't want to beat it to death because folks around here have heard me say it more than enough already, but...
Is Mitchell the best player from that trade, yeah. By how much though? Is Mitchell a Sexton, three 1sts, and two swaps better?
Lauri is pretty darn good. For those paying attention (me and Danny Ainge, but not Koby it would seem) he literally leveled up before our eyes playing internationally that summer.
Mitchell/Garland combination creates a ceiling for this team. We still don't have the starting SF or 3rd big we lost when dealing Lauri. Roster construction would improve drastically if we could reverse that deal.
Mitchell is very good, so having him versus not certainly makes a team better. Not sure what the case for him 'elevating the roster is'. He's pretty clearly limited Garland, and a case could be made his usage halted Mobley's development.
what specifically makes it "not even debatable".
i wouldn't debate Sexton is a better player even though he's more efficient than Mitchell, but i think a case could certainly be made for Lauri. so i'm curious what the origin of such a definitive statement might be.
Scoring isn’t what makes DG better than Sexton, in fact sexton is a better pure scorer than DG. DG’s value comes from spacing and being one of the few truly elite playmakers in the league
Don't get me wrong, I love Garland and am happy to have him. But I always wonder if we could have managed to give up Garland and kept Markk and Sexton. Mitchell, Strus, Markk, Mobley, Allen, and Sexton first off the bench sounds like a really fun time to me.
Just a fun thought, not trying to make any real statements here.
To everyone else that also doesn’t know ball and agrees with this dummy-
NBA guards last year with 18+ppg and 60+TS%: Shaq Gilgeous-Alexander, Steph Curry, Devin Booker, Tyrese Haliburton, James Harden, Bradley Beal…and Colin Sexton
Close misses: Austin Reaves(15.9ppg), Derrick White(15.2ppg), Kyrie Irving(59.7TS%), Donavan Mitchell(59.3TS%), Donte Divencenzo(15.5ppg, 59.2TS%)
He’s not a guy you build around due to size limitations and not being an elite passer or defender to make up for it, but again you don’t know ball if you don’t think every good team in the league wouldn’t love him coming off the bench as a 6th man type
Really wish SexLand could have worked out. Even just for the name. Donovan has been so fun though
Yeah well Sexland.....💀💀
Single-handedly ended the Scary Hours Nets
God that was such a bright spot in a rough time to be a Cavs fan. Sexton was so freaking money
He put up 24/4/3 that season on 48/38/82 splits. Rockets fans acted like Jalen Green was still the right pick over Mobley for putting up worse numbers on significantly worse efficiency in year 3 than Sexton btw

He's always been like a shorter Jordan Clarkson type. But I always appreciated his hustle.
Sexton personifies the definition of what a JYD should be tbh
Lamar Stevens erasure!

Not sure why this got downvoted, it’s completely correct. Jalen green has infinitely more potential than sexton does lol
Their first game together and they were no match for Young Bull

One of the easiest personalities to cheer for ngl
So many here still believe Sexton + Lauri is better than Mitchell. I just don't get it.
I’m allowed to like all 3 of them sir
they would make us a better team, yes. and that's ignoring agbaji, and all the draft capital.
Just to be clear. You think having Sexton, Lauri and Agbaji would be better than Mitchell?! Their team won 31 games last season. Their last season in Cleveland we won 44 games. Mitchell elevates the entire roster. Nobody we lost in the trade did.

None of the players we lost move the needle the way don does. It's not even debatable.Â

Ignore the down votes on your previous comments. You’re right, most people don’t get it
That sexton over garland sounds good right now tho lol and I was saying garland at the time
Garland was averaging over 20 PPG before his injury last season. I feel like people forget how good he actually is.
Scoring isn’t what makes DG better than Sexton, in fact sexton is a better pure scorer than DG. DG’s value comes from spacing and being one of the few truly elite playmakers in the league
Elite? He throws lobs lol.
People love outing themselves as basketball illiterates these last few days on this sub, crazy
He’s an elite turnover machine
DG during the clutch đź’€
I was a garland fan until the end of this year and I think he’s good but as far as a team he don’t fit next to Mitchell and he’s overpaid
How? Sexton would be like second LeVert off the bench. Garland can run an offense in the absence of Mitchell.
Garland is better but for the money we paid him it’s disappointing
Can he though?? Lol
You don’t know ball
Add Lauri to that group
Sexland!!!
I'm so glad those jerseys are gone
https://www.theplayerstribune.com/posts/back-on-the-map-collin-sexton-nba-cleveland-cavaliers-basketball
Lauri, he was the bigger loss...
I wore my Homage Collin t-shirt in my passport photo.
My mom got me a Sexton jersey for Christmas. I didn’t have the heart to tell her so it’s just sitting in my closet with the tags on.
I’d still wear it with pride.
He’s no Andrew Wiggins
Future laker I hear
Is that the latest on him? I think hes signed to Klutch too…
My glorious goat 🙏🏾

Loved him
Verbal meme Thanos: what did it cost Cavs fans: everything.
Is that you, Hiram?
I literally saw him at the Miami Airport today.
back in march, he helped win me +5k in a $9 parlay, so it’s good seeing that face today, baby
He’s ass
He's a quality guard.
Maybe for a tanking team that never plans on winning anything.

Nah dude, not ass. He’s tunnel visioned for a PG and really small for a 2 guard but Sexton is pretty solid to bring off the bench or spot start
May the downvote gods smite you! ⚡️
You can just say you don’t know ball it’s okay
What, an injury machine?
r/clevelandcavs, where you go for dystopian ideas of nba basketball
Thank the lord we did the trade. Sexton is not good
