Nelly - It’s Gettin Hot In Here

Unhappy-Peach-8369

Love this climate classic

Omal15

Thank you for the chuckle

MyCuntSmellsLikeHam

The Dead Flag Blues by Godspeed You! Black Emperor. I don’t know how this hasn’t been mentioned yet! OP let me know your thoughts, still haven’t found a song that so beautifully captures the helpless feeling of collapse. It may take a few listens to to fully get it

Electrical-Effect-62

My absolute favourite band

Aquatic_Ceremony

"We are all trapped in the belly of this horrible machine, and the machine is bleeding to death."

Adding obligatory "Aenema" by Tool

PartisanGerm

The whole album Existential Reckoning is basically a collapse theme.

Omal15

"Con-crete conclusions.. be damned.. it's far.. too late"🔥

littlebirdblooms

Our Changing Climate (haven't watched it myself but seems decent from the episode titles) and The Great Simplification would get you started

Planet B - King Gizzard

Atheios569

Radiohead: all albums.

pduncpdunc

King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard's album "Infest the Rats Nest" is all about climate change and it goes hard AF

IfYouGotALonelyHeart

Half their songs off their 20 album catalog are about climate change.

MousseFit8988

Petrodragonic Apocalyse, or dawn of eternal night: an annihilation of planet Earth and the beginning of merciless damnation is even better ;)

ChaoticNeutralWombat

[Blue Lips](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GRipheS8dxE) by Regina Spektor hits the right notes for me. A very succinct history of western civilization, I think. See if you can make it past "They made it past the enemy lines just to become enslaved by the assembly lines" without getting goosebumps. Edit: Apologies. I saw the word "playlist" and my mind automatically went to music. I see now that's not what you're looking for.

Unhappy-Peach-8369

Haha this was an interesting take. I mean informational videos that I can play consecutively, but this is a good recommendation! Thank you!

Planned Obsolescence by Gojira - but pretty much their entire L'enfant Sauvage album.

Grose2424

not specific to climate but for collapse: aenima - tool, and [ Cello & Violin Cover by Sage Etters (youtube.com)Tool - Ænema Cello & Violin Cover by Sage Etters (youtube.com)](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nz50APzAzaY) Moon over Marin - the Dead Kennedys Fugazi - Strangelight Puscifer - the Humbling River 3rd World - Immortal Technique Nine inch nails - zero sum

IfYouGotALonelyHeart

Zero Sum is so underrated.

Keep the World we Know, Bruce Cockburn and Susan Aglukark

Monkey Gone to Heaven - Pixies The Day the Politicians Died - The Magnetic Fields It's Not Dark Yet - Bob Dylan

Thank you! These are finally good suggestions as well.

The Final Countdown by Europe.

we're heading for Venus

DawnComesAtNoon

Dunno about playlist, but this is a really fitting song, [Money Game Part 3 by Ren](https://music.youtube.com/search?q=money+game+part+3) and the other money game parts

unknown817206

Check out Holocene by The Ocean or For Those That Wish To Exist (the abbey road version or not) by Architects They both are directly inspired by collapse ideas (the bands have confirmed this). I recommend both because they don't emphasize a single viewpoint.

Collapse with a video! Death Cab For Cutie - Grapevine Fires https://youtu.be/H8ZUV9IBEXY?si=fPNYN2uoeZrk5xbm

Viridian_Crane

My angle for a collapse video would be pretty pointed. A mix of human greed, ignorance, avoidance about the damage we've done. Background music being [Hunz - Your still here](https://youtu.be/Ursdd44o8Zk?si=mbbaX_jEwW0nDBX4). The point being Humans are *still here* and we still destroy everything without consideration to the environment and other life around us.

Intheperseusveil

When Everything Dies by God is an Astronaut and the entire All Is Violent album in general

Prometheus6EQUJ5

You guys suck hard at this. A few climate change songs that are right off the top of my head... Land of confusion - Genesis Beds are burning - Midnight Oil Another way to die - Disturbed

sp0rkify

I dunno if it's necessarily a "collapse" playlist.. but, I have one I've been working on for a few years, called vive la révolution! So, it's a mix of every genre (except country..) and the theme is basically "we're fucked unless we rise up".. I dunno, maybe people can find some new stuff they dig.. over 21h long at this point.. and I add stuff regularly.. sorry, I don't watch YouTube videos, so this is all I've got.. https://spotify.link/VVBQGV8hmJb

Music for an empty metropolis

Zealousideal_Scene62

I'm struggling so much that I can only really listen to gentle ambient instrumental these days. There's some great hour-long dreamcore playlists on YouTube for that, should be at the top of any search result along those lines.

followthedarkrabbit

Dance Macarbe - Ghost. It's about the black plague and people just being all "well, if we're gonna die, may as well live hedonistically and have orgies and have fun before we go". Think its fitting. World's gone to shit, may as well enjoy some indulgences while the world burns.

[Bad Moves - Out of Reach](https://youtu.be/nnSdQHXJ5G0?si=zItUACegWCkBfTBN) Caught up in the daily forecasts, basking in the sun Oh, how it hurt to squint at decades still to come While the blaring television boasted of our skill The imminence, it gripped you early on Fearful child You'd lie awake at night In bleak envisioning, visioning A prophet’s end Through a heretic lens Nobody listening, listening Every blackened night Every temperature rise We are the fire We give off light By the time we could admit we’d foreseen the effects You’d spent a lifetime mapping outlooks of the wreck Drink it down, cough it up Torrid air fills your lungs If not the best that’s left, what’s left is left for us Circling high Above the rising tide It seemed so out of reach, out of reach The clouds that rise Up through a darkened sky Warm from the air we breathe, air we breathe Every blackened night Every temperature rise We are the fire We give off light And every faded hope Every hallowed divide We are the air The ardent denial Every blackened night Everywhere you walk, there’s a dark cloud forming Even where you are, it’s a perfect storm and Everywhere you walk, there’s a dark cloud forming Even where you are, even where you are

Lonelybiscuit07

Collapse - Rise Against Hits a little too close to home lately

co_dissonance

First that comes to mind is Tomorrow's Harvest by Boards of Canada, the fact that they haven't released another album after this in 11 years almost seems like a statement in itself

daviddjg0033

When the levee breaks by Led Zeppelin has the beat resampled by the Beastie Boys

kylerae

These are my recommendations: Environmental Coffehouse (https://www.youtube.com/@EnvironmentalCoffeehouse): Go to their live videos. They have great interviews and great discussions. Climate Emergency Forum (https://www.youtube.com/@ClimateEmergencyForum) Our Changing Climate (https://www.youtube.com/@OurChangingClimate) Climate Town (https://www.youtube.com/@ClimateTown): This is mostly US based. The Great Simplification by Nate Hagans (https://www.youtube.com/@thegreatsimplification) Paul Beckwith (https://www.youtube.com/@PaulHBeckwith): He mostly reviews articles and scientific papers and breaks them down for the average person. Sid Smith (https://www.youtube.com/@bsidneysmith): He doesn't post often, but he has a good overview of collapse The Great Story (https://www.youtube.com/@thegreatstory): Michael Dowd has some great overview videos, as well as wonderful conversations surrounding Post Doom.

Go to for You tube- Suspicious Observers. Ben is very arrogant but he does do research and pulls up Science released articles.

_DidYeAye_

I don't know what to think of him. He's a Christian for a start, so there's a major red flag in terms of intelligence. He also thinks climate change is a hoax, so he's ticking the right wing nutter box too. I do like the idea of the poleshift catastrophe cycle, but I find him hard to take seriously given what I've mentioned previously.

upthespiralkim1

I agree, I dont follow him. Bad advice - sorry.

_DidYeAye_

No need to apologise! I do recommend that people give him a listen. The poleshift stuff is fascinating. I was just pointing out the red flags with his belief system.

darkpsychicenergy

You probably should have specified documentary / news footage playlist. There aren’t really enough songs that are actually about *Climate Related Collapse* or biosphere collapse, to make a playlist anyway. Most are focused on social/political/economic aspects.
