Yes, for some reason my brain tried to figure out how the arm could come from the cat's left (our right) side, but that obviously doesn't work. The cat is hanging on her elbow, so her forearm is coming up and around the cat's right (our left) side. The sleeve's white cuff matches the cat's colour.

Yes, you got it. People have been assuming that the color of the sleeve blends in with the cat’s fur. That may be part of it, but I also think the cat is floofy enough that its fur overlaps the sleeve a bit too.
