>of having facial recognition camera
Toss away your phone, iPad, and laptop with a Webcam then.
>and assault rifle attachments.
You can 3D print plastic guns in your own home and have them work. You can get a metal 3D printer and print yourself a metal gun.
I'm not seeing how robot tech is more deadly than 3D printing technology
Nb4r [these things are especially worrisome](https://www.euronews.com/next/2021/08/06/a-useful-tool-or-dehumanising-robot-police-dog-that-scans-homeless-people-sparks-debate):
>Homeless residents of a state-run tent city in Honolulu, Hawaii, are having their eyes scanned by a robotic police dog. Police in the city say it's a safer way to check for symptoms of COVID-19.
Yeah, remember the AI chess player that attacked a kid that was beating it? While I don’t believe it had any serious AI it does show they they aren’t sufficiently safe at this time.
China is already employing these with machine guns mounted on top. The evolution of these things will be quick once AI machine learning is fully incorporated. It's a scary thought that robots will learn to build themselves, think for themselves and decide for themselves within our lifetime. If they haven't already
>That robots are docile and therefore harmless.
They inherently are. The only deadly robots are the ones in manufacturing that harm inattentive humans, and the occasional glitchy Roomba that starts a fire and burns a home with people in it.
>It’s called training your market.
What I see in the presentation is the normal mind-numbing stupid ass fashion show that they always are.
Zoolander was an amazing satire of that entire industry.
What is more likely?
1. There is an organized upper class that decided to create this art show with intent of normalizing a robodog.
2. Somebody thought this was cool performance art
I realize why religious people, like hardcore, hate science and technology.
Science and technology solves problems and answers questions. The less unanswered questions and problems the less useful religion is since it was created to explain the unknown and give people hope for problems that can't be solved.
No sir. I'm sure people are afraid that this technology will be used against them to create a technocratic dictatorship or destroy the world. Either way nothing good really comes from a robot
I would counter that we are not being indoctrinated to believing this is normal. Have you not read or watched any science fiction in the last 70 years. There are constantly warnings about how machines/robots are going to wipe out humanity. Just seems humans are not good at heeding warnings.
I always think about how wild it will be in the future, after the inevitable robot uprising...and future generations just have access to tons of media depicting our eventual downfall 😅
I wouldn’t want them not because of indoctrination or maliciousness. I have doubts that all the bugs have been worked out and they won’t accidentally hurt me.
Do people not realize these Boston dynamic robots are manually controlled using a controller? Everything you see them do for the most part is either controlled live or just a playback of what the operator programmed it to do. It only has a few autonomous functions such as charging, dynamically replanning around new obstacles as it walks, and self-righting if it falls.
Seeing these things in real life was terrifying. At first, I had no idea what I was looking at, I saw it in philly prancing around in a field next to a building, I didn't see any people just this robot dog. It made me so uncomfortable.
If people thought human cops were racist ... wait till you deal with a robot cop. It only has statistics and facial recognition to profile you and that might turn out MUCH MUCH worse than dealing with your average human that you can appeal to their humanity. But hey doubt me .... redditors do it all the time and they are the ones in for the surprise!
They'll be painted dark blue and are only available to the police
Then the hood will have the black dogs running too (with sparkles)
Military will get camo dogs
And most suburban households will probably have colorful dogs
I've already seen pics of these robot dogs with guns strapped to their backs. Which is just a bad idea, especially with ai potentially going rogue. They could be handy in war, but I'm not sure about them patrolling our cities just yet.
*phuh* I’ll be the talk of the dog park with one of these. The weirdo dog parent clique won’t know what’s hit them when their raggedy ass ratdogs come for my robo-pooch!
Ummm I think we have desensitized ourselves to the value of human life. We have no problem for a flying robot to kill thousands in Ukraine. Why was this the first killing robot because of the distance involved. The disconnect is there. Once these things can operate independently, they will be on the ground serving as infantry.
It was a few years ago. I saw it on reddit but can't remember the sub. I ve been looking but I'm pretty sure it was Russian maybe? ! idk. But the kid was playing against a robots hand actually moving the pieces around the board and it was the boys turn and wham the robots hand crushed the boys hand and it just ended with the people trying to rescue the boy.
Happened at the Moscow Open in 2022. Thankfully it was only a finger fracture that resulted. I don't know where to find the video, but The Guardian has an article about it:
[https://www.theguardian.com/sport/2022/jul/24/chess-robot-grabs-and-breaks-finger-of-seven-year-old-opponent-moscow](https://www.theguardian.com/sport/2022/jul/24/chess-robot-grabs-and-breaks-finger-of-seven-year-old-opponent-moscow)
Wonder how the folks that think these are so cool will feel when facial recognition and high power laser are incorporated into these? Just like a cheesy Sci-Fi movie.
>But what's the point of stuff like this? Hundreds of millions of dollars, decades of time and research to even make these things a possibility
Honestly, there are worse ways people spend resources/money.
Innovations in tech always trigger the advancements of side-branching fields and maybe some of them will be incredibly useful and change our entire future.
Did you know freeze-dried food was invented due to advancements in space travel?
N..no? Indoctrination or to be indoctrinated means you are taught to believe something, with out critical thinking. So, yeah sure, we can use the 14 year old typical internet edgelord mindset of "g0d nO rEAl rElIgOn bAd g0d nO reAl lmFa0" as an example, but yeah, it's not anchored to religon.
Feels like you’re just afraid of progress for little reason, of course these things won’t have real world applications for a while and it will seem like a money pit. This is how advancements happen. People like yourself are only holding everyone back
I personally welcome our AI overlords. We humans have fucked the dog for a long ass time and nothings really gotten much better. We're still horrid creatures who kill, rape, and maim anything we don't agree with.
Plenty of ways it will be among us in many forms and will be all the better for it ..
Just need to make sure some don't hack or mess with it to do their evil deeds
I think they intentionally called them “dog” robots, so they have the same laws protecting them. To prevent us from destroying their robots, they charge us with felonies saying we intentionally harmed the police “dog”
The thing about Simpsons that I wish they would change somehow is how they present these issues - its much more subtle than some of the other cartoon presentations like Family Guy or American Dad, etc.
The delivery of the lines was so plain and unemphatic that I think a lot of people would miss the import, which was obviously designed to make you think about a couple of things.
These are important observations. I honestly don't watch the Simpsons now for a long time and I think its because the social and related commentary is delivered in such a pedestrian manner that its easy to forget that its there.
A.I. is being brought in slowly. Before we know it, it's going to be on every corner of every street.... what that looks like, I don't know. But it's coming...

Yeah I get the creepy AI shit but why are people gathered around watching a stick wearing a blanket watching a robot dog pulling the blanket off?
Is this one of those bizarre fashion shows that make no sense? Or is it a weird product launch of sorts? Why am I the first to say? WTF people. What. The. Fuck.
There’s already a guy who married his sex doll. The above image pales in comparison. That said, I think it’s creepy and weird. Which is 99% of fashion shows.
A question I ask whenever special ways of spying on our behavior is: what do they need beyond absolutely everything your cell phone records?
if you have been watching the videos of boston dynamics staff beating and pushing down these things for the past 20 years, you will be as afraid of what they are going to do to us as i am.
It’s further militarizing the police. [Cops already are not legally required to protect anyone](https://www.nytimes.com/2005/06/28/politics/justices-rule-police-do-not-have-a-constitutional-duty-to-protect.html). Who are they amassing all of these high tech weapons to use against? They’re not buying up vacuums or innocuous things. The technology itself isn’t the issue, the issue is who we’re giving that technology to and what they can use it for.
Some people want slaves that don't answer back, especially the military and vulture capitalists
Why employ a person, who needs paying, holidays, may be unreliable, when you can have a humanoid, or whatever form is best for the tasks required, that does what you want, costs something to buy and maintain, but never stops, never asks for a raise, can keep the poor away without any conscience
The US is debating passing a law that allows autonomous systems to kill without human intervention, can't see how that could go wrong
Then do something like Elysium / Alita and just lock the poor out and forget about them, until someone hacks everything, like Elysium, because I do IS for a living and if there's one thing they i know for sure, everyone is shit at it and haven't seen a system that can't be hacked by the right people
The cops in big cities already have them...they are also going out on certain special forces mission - *I believe*, I'm not 100% sure on that...but yeah. They are here already
Same places we are broken down. Or same places you would attack any 4 legged predator.
Joints, bendy places, etc…power supply is probably in an up armored chest area.
How am I being indoctrinated, and into what exactly?
Robosexuality.
I'm. . . . Intrigued. Tell me more.

Into thinking it's normal, it's in the title. I don't necessarily agree, it's an interesting thought.
Robots have been normal since 1962.

**TAKE MY MONEY!**
Oh man, I couldn't imagine anything myself, but just thinking about what I could have imagined is pretty scary
I knew this would be the video...and I am so glad.
I can see that… add a sheep or goat costume, and a redneck could stay busy for hours!
The title is a bit daft but these things have the potential to be dangerous.
All technology has the potential to be dangerous.
True but this particular technology is capable of having facial recognition camera and assault rifle attachments.
Dildo attachment as well.
>of having facial recognition camera Toss away your phone, iPad, and laptop with a Webcam then. >and assault rifle attachments. You can 3D print plastic guns in your own home and have them work. Nefarious.
I bet you someone will attach...uhhh...*something else* to that robot.

I mean, that robot is fucking sexy! With those long sexy legs, and golden blonde hair. Oh wait.....
That robots are docile and therefore harmless. It’s called training your market.
>That robots are docile and therefore harmless. They inherently are. Yep. I said in another post that fashion shows are 99% ridiculously stupid. Half of the outfits are just costumes that aren’t ever going to market.
Spot is the rover, Atlas is the soldier : https://youtu.be/-e1_QhJ1EhQ?si=GUtqKsQ-dLM2zLLZ
What is more likely? 1. There is an organized upper class that decided to create this art show with intent of normalizing a robodog. 2. Somebody thought this was cool performance art
I choose number 1, since it's being used in military applications so you could consider it a weapon, no doubt
💯 [The NYPD has ‘em](https://gothamist.com/news/robot-dogs-tiny-rocket-ships-will-soon-work-alongside-nypd-officers)
>We are being indoctrinated into believing this is normal. *Man seeing fire for the first time, probably*
"That wheel will never catch on! Mark my words!"
"Lazy kids and their wheels , back in my day we just carried shit."
Cooked food is the devil.
What? I mean, lighters create fire. Man-made technology! Next thing you’ll be saying that lightning can start fires or something equally ridiculous.
🤣🤣🤣
Saw a nipple
Probably just some bone.
I think it’s the nipple OP is terrified of.
Must’ve been cold in that room
Eh, just trip it.

I'd rather these smart robots than 95% of the thoughtless meat sacks on this sub.
I wouldn’t want them not because of indoctrination or maliciousness. I have doubts that all the bugs have been worked out and they won’t accidentally hurt me.
Could be better than most cops maybe, AI has tons of biases but there is not Klan membership so... !
I'm guessing that includes you
Do people not realize these Boston dynamic robots are manually controlled using a controller? Good. Bodies are fucking gross and pathetic. Let me upload already.
I'm fine with them as long as they're don't have guns strapped to them
Oh they definitely will eventually lol
They'll be painted dark blue and are only available to the police Then the hood will have the black dogs running too (with sparkles) Military will get camo dogs And most suburban households will probably have colorful dogs

Great…

Unmanned and heavily armed drones have been a thing for a while.
Ha, I'm aware, they freak me out.
You ever seen that Black Mirror episode where those robot dogs are hunting down that woman. Bloody ruthless that one
I remember my first rc car
Can't wait i'll look cool as fuck riding to work on one of these.
They'll be on Strictly Come Dancing soon
For the safety of humanity, we must do away with humans
She can violate my personal space any time.
*New kink unlocked*
I remember watching “ I, Robot” for the first time too
*phuh* I’ll be the talk of the dog park with one of these. The weirdo dog parent clique won’t know what’s hit them when their raggedy ass ratdogs come for my robo-pooch!
I can’t wait to have my own robot. 🤷🏼♀️ I’ve wanted one since I saw Star Wars when I was six years old. I hope to hell it becomes my new normal.
That’s a nip
Bring on the robot doggos!
what's actually scary is if a bunch of police lose their jobs to robots and keep their guns.
One of the tools that will be used to keep the non-elite from revolting.
Mate, they're called women, they've been here for a REALLY long time.
More meat on the Robot than that woman!
Ummm I think we have desensitized ourselves to the value of human life. We have no problem for a flying robot to kill thousands in Ukraine. Why was this the first killing robot because of the distance involved. The disconnect is there. Once these things can operate independently, they will be on the ground serving as infantry.
Battlefield 2042 style.
First the military, then the police, then private security, then just rich people. These things are already have assault rifle attachments.
It’s just a woman. Taller than average. What’s the problem?
Oh sure…when the robot does that it’s cool…when I do it…it’s sexual harassment and you can’t come to happy hour anymore
I look at this and then I think of that poor kid getting his hands smashed playing chess with one....creepy and scary
link?
It was a few years ago. I saw it on reddit but can't remember the sub. I ve been looking but I'm pretty sure it was Russian maybe? ! idk. The internet and participation in reddit already, in public, scans us, watches us, violates our personal space, our privacy etc.
Bro prob gets all his info from Facebook too 😂😭
This is how the richest will hunt us.
Wonder how the folks that think these are so cool will feel when facial recognition and high power laser are incorporated into these? Just like a cheesy Sci-Fi movie.
>when facial recognition Toss out your phone, tablet, and computer with a Webcam.
That sounds even cooler.
When the people finally stand up for what's right and take to the streets these are the robots that will protect the so-called 'elite'.
That's pretty cool. I'm a big fan of where tech is heading.
“These things” are called women, dude.
Every time I see these I think of that episode of Black Mirror, they were shaped just like the ones without the neck
>But what's the point of stuff like this? Just reminds me of that Black Mirror episode……we’re all doomed.
🤣🤣🤣🤣
This is so stupid
Do you want Black Mirror?! Because this is definitely how you get Black Mirror. 😳😳😳
What ”damage” can they possibly do that phones can’t already do? Phones are the ultimate spies, the most effective way to spy ever created.
Indoctrinated is what you get from religion.. This is a dead coded item..
14 year old edgelord? Well, if saying gods do not exist means you are that, believing the nonsense is real means being a 5 year old clown
Gross and weird propaganda.
Feels like you’re just afraid of progress for little reason, of course these things won’t have real world applications for a while and it will seem like a money pit. This is how advancements happen. People like yourself are only holding everyone back

Disgraceful.
Do you have a cell phone, OP? They already have 90% of that information.
The only time I'll wear a face covering again. Not a covid mask, a fookin ski mask
I personally welcome our AI overlords. We humans have fucked the dog for a long ass time and nothings really gotten much better. We're still horrid creatures who kill, rape, and maim anything we don't agree with.
Ahh daily schizo post.

HEY THAT'S ROBOPHOBIC!
Meh, AI is more dangerous than some clunky bots
I think they intentionally called them “dog” robots, so they have the same laws protecting them. To prevent us from destroying their robots, they charge us with felonies saying we intentionally harmed the police “dog”
Sex change robots er ner

A.I. has been around since the 1950s. And it has nothing to do with Christianity.
I say at least a week.
Is that remote controlled or is it operating off ai?
Ummm what the fuck am I looking at here?. Yeah I get the creepy AI shit but why are people gathered around watching a stick wearing a blanket watching a robot dog pulling the blanket off? Is this one of those bizarre fashion shows that make no sense? Or is it a weird product launch of sorts? Why am I the first to say? WTF people. What. The. Fuck.
They’re like wild animals..possibly a hazard but too cute
she doesn't look all that dangerous
They come with rifles or flamethrowers mounted where heads go
As long as we don’t give them hands we are ok
He’s cute though
Who the fuck has been indoctrinated about that shit? Put down the internet and go outside and play.
There’s already a guy who married his sex doll. The above image pales in comparison. That said, I think it’s creepy and weird. Which is 99% of fashion shows. A question I ask whenever special ways of spying on our behavior is: what do they need beyond absolutely everything your cell phone records?
Sad that everyone is recording and not just watching.
lol
Woah she looks like one of the Tall Whites that Charles Hall talks about.
if you have been watching the videos of boston dynamics staff beating and pushing down these things for the past 20 years, you will be as afraid of what they are going to do to us as i am.
How about running with scissors? Or being indoctrinated into believing gun ownership is normal? This is the same, even more normal than gun ownership.
Did we just see a nip slip?
It’s just an artistic concept executed during a runway modeling, calm down
But [they’re real and used in NYC](https://gothamist.com/news/robot-dogs-tiny-rocket-ships-will-soon-work-alongside-nypd-officers)
nice legs
I, for one, welcome our robot dog overlords.
Grab the EMP guns boys!
It's literally a presentation because it's not normal... Conspiracy Theorists are afraid of everything.
[We have them in NYC](https://reason.com/2023/04/12/new-york-city-brings-back-dystopian-robot-police-dogs/).
That doesn't mean its normal.
Oh they absolutely shouldn’t be normalized. I just worry people aren’t taking the use of them as seriously as we should be.
What are you concerned about? They're just robots, vacuums are already normalized in homes and we've had robots in factories for years now.
I'm honestly less worried about a robot than I am the assault weapons, riot gear, and military vehicles they're able to collect.
Horizon Zero Dawn?
If it happens, it happens 🤷🏻♂️
Okay, time to make a electric magnetic pulse rifle.
Just like selling cars a few decades ago. I bet a woman didn't create this facade.
they’re trying to normalize this 💩
Learn how to make hand held emp devices
Horizon Zero Dawn is leaking.
Advanced Artificial Super-Intelligence and #5G (et al) are taking over control of the world.
Nip slip! Oh yeah.
Weird flex but okay
Some people want slaves that don't answer back, especially the military and vulture capitalists Why employ a person, who needs paying, holidays, may be unreliable, when you can have a humanoid, or whatever form is best for the tasks required, that does what you want, costs something to buy and maintain, but never stops, never asks for a raise, can keep the poor away without any conscience The US is debating passing a law that allows autonomous systems to kill without human intervention, can't see how that could go wrong Then do something like Elysium / Alita and just lock the poor out and forget about them, until someone hacks everything, like Elysium, because I do IS for a living and if there's one thing they i know for sure, everyone is shit at it and haven't seen a system that can't be hacked by the right people
Did we learn nothing from Black Mirror
Reminds me of the Black Mirror episode
this guy must be amish. the devils technology is going to kill everyone
It’s a robot that’s been preprogrammed to interact with a human. Your toasters been doing it for years. Nothing more. Shit up
The cops in big cities already have them...they are also going out on certain special forces mission - *I believe*, I'm not 100% sure on that...but yeah. They are here already
It’s called fashion. Look it up.
How are one of these shut down?
Same places we are broken down. Or same places you would attack any 4 legged predator. Joints, bendy places, etc…power supply is probably in an up armored chest area.
I'll be the first one to destroy it if it lands in New Zealand
I honestly look forward to seeing a fully automated society
It’s the terminator music in the background idiots. This post is spot on.
When have fashion shows ever been normal?
