That was funny because I played the entirety of Control in stereoscopy (through ReShade with the SuperDepth3D.fx shader) with a homemade VR headset I built. It's neat to see that giant floating text when I enter a new area.
Love that too. I was tryin to figure out what font that is. I was guessing some variant of Helvetica but it's apparently ITC Avant Garde Gothic

I love the title effect. I try to take a screenshot of each area as the title pops up. It’s tough because they are only up for a few seconds and even disappear when the screen is ‘frozen’ for the screenshot
I absolutely love that detail, especially with the sound effect.
I almost wish it appeared every time you traveled, but it would dilute the impact so much.
That's how you know when you're making progress. It's like a mini-chapter within an open world. I just finished the Foundation DLC last night. What a ride it was! Initially, I thought Control was kind of boring, but after buying a second copy for my Steam Deck, I just sat down and played through the whole game.
I can't wait to see what Remedy does for Control 2. One thing, though: I don't like Jesse's Director outfit. She comes across as the kind of person who would just wear a leather jacket with jeans, and it's evident from the Foundation DLC that she wants to run the bureau her own way anyway.
It definitely made me jump a few times lol I think it's a perfect way to introduce the new areas it isn't frilly or anything it keeps the very old school office vibe that the oldest house has.
It had a big Impact on me
I see what you did there
I was rather proud of that one
I know your type.
Mighty bold of you to say
You kern go to hell
Oh man I wanted to make a kerning joke but I couldn't think of one. Ah well, I suppose it's fine. I'm still having a helvetica time.
A comic, sans humor.
perfect delivery too, like a reliable courier
y'all really need to get with the Times
It made every new area feel important, and it's just cinematic as fuck. Absolutely love it!
Great way to put it
Control has the best fonts
was really glad to see this carried over in AW2
I dont care if it gets old they should do this in every game from now on
Whats AW2?
Alan Wake 2
Alan Wake 2, which is really excellent and contains a lot of direct references to Control.
Excellent? I personally thought it was a masterpiece. The user asking needs to play it A.S.A.P.
Advance War 2 Really good game on Gameboy Advance Got remaster recently for Nitendo Switch
I haven't played it yet, but I'm really glad to hear!
I specifically loved the title card drop in AW2, the full-screen word-by-word flash with the music sting on every one *chef’s kiss*
Imagine wearing 3d glasses when this happens.
I miss my 3D glasses 😕
I was wearing 3D glasses I got from the movies and everything was blurry. Couldn’t see shit.
Imagine wearing inter-dimensional glasses when this happens...

That must have been awesome!!

Helvetica wouls have been equally great BUT it's very mundane and does not have this overpowering effect when all caps.
It's fucking sick on 5120x1440
d***U***Nnnnn Its awesome
It triggers my alphamegalophobia every time. Very effective at atmosphere.
Did you make this up by attaching the alpha- prefix? 🤔
Yeah. I have an irrational fear of giant letters and numbers, and an official phobia doesn't exist for it, as far as I know.
Do not look up the Pepsi-Cola sign in Long Island City! 🫣
I love the title effect. I try to take a screenshot of each area as the title pops up. It’s tough because they are only up for a few seconds and even disappear when the screen is ‘frozen’ for the screenshot
That and the elevator opening on CONTROL was amazing
I remember seeing that scene from the trailer, and I was *hooked*.
Yes, I love it also. Really adds to the mood of the game.
Just one of the many details that sets this game above for me. It has been extremely effective each of my, so far, 3 playthroughs.
I liked it so much that I'm putting it into my own game.
I absolutely love that detail, especially with the sound effect. I almost wish it appeared every time you traveled, but it would dilute the impact so much.
Mr. Robot did it first, doesn't mean it's not cool AF.
The Mr. Robot title cards were so good. There were a bunch of really creative ones, especially later on.

This is so fucking cool, I loved it every time!!!
The graphic design and art direction of this game is remarkable.
It definitely made me jump a few times lol I think it's a perfect way to introduce the new areas it isn't frilly or anything it keeps the very old school office vibe that the oldest house has.
Loved it.
I was recently watching Killing Eve and realized they use a similar effect. Art.
Great game. Great show.
I'm not sure if it's the right reference, but the cinematic effect and font always felt very Kubrick to me.
I love it too.Makes it feels like a new chapter in the game or sumn
