If you ever have a broken rib it won't take long for you to realize that stretching the rib cage will bring a lot of four-letter words out of you. The pillow under the thighs helps alleviate a little of that. Mostly, a broken rib is just misery, but every little bit helps.
Granted it was a just a hairline fracture, but I got bronchitis when I broke my rib. Good times. Felt terrible for my roommate because I was in audible agony every night for at least 2 weeks.
I fell off a horse and broke a rib years ago. My dumb luck was that I promptly got a cold right after. Coughing and sneezing with a broke rib will bring tears to your eyes! I've cracked ribs a couple times since, but they weren't nearly as bad as that first one!
I remember when I fractured 2 and completely broke a third. The damn thing would poke my Lung from anything bigger than a short breath. Coughing?? Forget about it.. I ended up having a drink go down the wrong pipe and omfg, to this day I still remember and fear that pain when I was damn near drowning at the same time as my ribs were murdering me from trying to cough it back up. I've broken I think around 9 bones now and the ribs were definitely the worst. Shoulder kinda sucks too
Sleep on your side and bring your hand up to shield your eyes, with your thumb on one temple and your long finger on the other, sort of like the Picard facepalm meme.
Once you get comfortable, take deep and deliberate breaths until you conk out.
Whenever I have bad insomnia, I sleep on my back and put a pillow over my head. The bottom of the pillow on the tip of my nose. The weight of the pillow helps soo much. I know that weighted blankets can help calm people and help them to sleep. I'm not into weighted blankets, but the head pillow works wonders.
I donāt know how it works or why but Iāve figured out that sleeping the opposite direction (like with my head at the foot of the bed) helps a ton when I canāt sleep. I have pretty bad insomnia but that and a weighted blanket have made life and sleep a lot easier.
Stretch and elevate your legs and lower back.
If you have a firm mattress it may be contributing to the pain.
Take collagen 4-6 hours before you sleep.
Well if weāre doing this, usually nothing. Just put a pillow under my feet and deal with it.
I sometimes take collagen (the recommended dose) and I do feel better, my chiropractor that I donāt see anymore mentioned that could be use to alleviate joint aches when sleeping as well. Tylonel/ibuprofen doesnāt help as far as Iāve experienced.
Some days I work two jobs from 7am to 1am as a teacher/waiter, I get home and feel no joint aches because my whole body aches and fall asleep immediately. Otherwise I gotta stretch beforehand to sleep and it still takes me 30-60 minutes to fall asleep.
It should be of note that itās not joint pain but joint aches. Havenāt seen a doctor yet about it since I kind of accepted this as part of the sleep cycle
Could be a little bit of artrosis, probably something you wouldn't feel at all under normal circumstances, but you do quite a bit of work standing up... maybe a topical cream before sleep could help you, ask your pharmacist for something with a bit of painkiller on it, these creams aren't dirt cheap but definitely an affordable thing to buy to see if it fixes the problem for the time being...
Do take collagen. It is fantastic and works 99% of the time.

Broken wrist and broken ankle are perfectly acurate.
If you have recently broken either wrist or ankle, elevate it as much as you can, ideally above the level of the heart if you can. It is a MUST if you're awaiting ankle surgery. You can have severe complications if you don't keep a broken ankle elevated enough
wat about broken heart
Sleep on your front, regularly replacing pillows saturated by tears š
Sleep inside someone else
Sleep on the side, tuck your legs slightly and hug the second pillow.
Right? Where's the position for depression?
You donāt sleep with other people, thatās would cause a rebound.
Body pillow
I came to comment this š
Sleep with someone else
Reversed cursed technique
Sleep in the bath tub with a toaster
Got broken ribs? Better get this pillow under your thighs.

That sounds like a state of MISERY. Truly awful glad it's over for you.
It was over 30 years ago, so I survived. I was young and tough then. These days I'd just lie in bed and whimper.

I've broken a few bones here and there, but yes, the ribs are up there with the worst.
What if I have all of the above
Youāre going to need a lot of pillows.
Damn, that lady is having a bad week.
You want me to have more than 1 pillow? What am I, warren buffet?
I have 5 pillows.
Damn rich people
Same. 5.
These 1%ers
Just take your 1 pillow and split it in half down the middle, easy fix
And for insomnia?
Upside down bat-style, *obviously* š
Pillow over the mouth and nose very tightly!

What about knee pain

Don't take collagen. It is completely useless. Source: Doctor, currently working in orthopaedic surgery
I guess itās a placebo effect since I do feel better. What do I do to sleep better with my sore knees then?
What do you usually take for pain? If you don't mind I ask, do you take something regularly or you take it as needed?

What if you have a headache and neck pain?
Aint no way i can sleep on my back
AFAIK It's better to lie flat on your back for upper back pain, not sure why this says otherwise
So is this against pain or do I get pain if I sleep like this?
A daily sleeping guide for people 50+
It all hurts
I was about to comment, what if it's everything?
It will be a cold day in hell before I sleep on my back
Why is this picture so long?
It takes me for ever to get in a comfortable sleeping position without navigating a pillow
What about headaches? Maybe it's a pillow thing, but I tend to wake up with them randomly.
Where is the one for anxiety?
Man I love sleep
Wish me luck to not move in the middle of the night
Yeah no.... Had left shoulder pain last night. Slept on my right side. Shoulder pain on my left got worse.
What about a broken heart
If I need this many pillows then what is the point of the mattress?!

sleeping on your back is how to get sleep paralysis for me :(
How about position and pillows for when one 30lb dog sleeps in your kidney area and another 30lb one sleeps on your legs?
Classic āhipā pain coming from low back. True hip pain is in the groin. Otherwise get out of my office.
I sleep with 3 pillows, glad to know I figured it out before seeing this for arm pain
It will be a cold day in hell before I sleep on my back
āWhat sleep repairsā is nothing that is not how sleep works what is this psuedoscience BS.
