Graphic is a solid read on the regular vs california king. We got a Cal King so I could stretch out more, thinking it would still be plenty wide enough for a kid in the middle. Went back to a regular King pretty quick, because the extra 4 inches really does make a difference when there is a small space heater dreaming they're in a drunken boxing tournament sleeping between you.
Edit: difference in width is only 4 inches, but it feels like a foot (yeah, yeah, that's what she said 😉). Genuinely makes a huge difference when there's a kid in the middle though.
It’s more around 6 feet tall. Once you are that tall, if you have a headboard and put your arms above your head to cradle your head, your feet will hang off of bed. I’m only 6’3” but I’ll hang feet off on a standard king so we got the Cal King, it’s luxurious to be able to fully stretch out in bed, and I’m barely point guard sized.
This. I am 6'4" and bought a cal king. I didn't realize I'd be paying the cal king tax till I buy another bed. I'd rather have my feet hang off than never be able to find sheets in the stores I frequent (Costco, target, ikea). I've bought sheets online but am disappointed 90% of the time with the quality.
Can't read the font very well, but fyi the Alaskan king is 108inx108in which means it's 9ft wide and 9ft long
Unless you have a dog...then it's 3ft wide and 2ft long for you
Alaska king is 81 square feet of bed.
81 square feet. That means you need like 200 square feet of sheets and - if you need 3 blankets like my S.O.- another 300 square feet of blankets.
I want one.
An hour ago, I was measuring the bed of my pickup truck to see if a twin mattress would fit there so the kiddos and I could do the drive-in movie theater tonight. Then I measured the spare twin mattress.
Now, having never spoken a word of doing this, THIS guide is the first thing I see on Reddit. How are “they” doing this?
So this is a weird thing, you only ever notice this stuff because you were doing something with it.
If you never measured your mattresses and did anything, then you saw this post, you wouldnt think anything of it. Its only cause you have something to relate to this that you notice it
Im not a federal agent, trust me
Is there not one fucking thing Americans can use regular unit descriptions for?
Dafuq kinda reason is there for anyone to call it Wyoming or Alaska and then everybody goes along with it???
This is very Generalized! Too generalized. It vastly depends on the body size and mass of the individuals..Two big and tall adults will not fit in either California king or king size.
Well we arent really huge, but big and what I can tell you is that we dont feel comfortable sleeping in a King size together. I am thinking it has something to do with the way you sleep too.

This is my bed, except no dog. Just my wife sneaking into my space because she’s cold.
Heated blanket for Christmas..helped me anyway
Heated mattress pad, even better.
Do Shaq’s bed with regular size models in it.
Laughing too hard at this as my German Shepherd leaves me approximately 8” of bed space
You know you need to update that with the wyoming king, right?
And the size of the dog does not matter.
Done! [https://imgur.com/5NRByzG](https://imgur.com/5NRByzG)
Perfection.
Did you upscale images are wat
ha yea I did a reverse image search on OP's guide, found the original (at least a higher quality one) and use that for my photoshop :)
We have two Chihuahuas. They sleep at a 90 degree handle to us huddling each edge of the bed. We sleep like an H.
Wait so your chihuahuas are like your pseudo cocks and your effectively touching tips? Hah gaaaay!

I never knew there was an Alaska King size bed. I thought California King size was the largest before this.
The largest I've seen is a family bed, it's 144" x 80"
holy shit

Q: What’s the difference between a King and a California King? … A: The California King has avocado.
Yeah I don't get the appeal of a California king bed unless you're like an NBA player and your feet always dangle off the bed at night lol

Fair enough. I'm 6 feet tall but I don't sleep with my arms above my head so I've never had that issue
Sometimes I sleep on my tummy and I like to put an arm up above my head. Those extra inches help!
Is 6'5" NBA status? I had a Cali King with a woman that was 6'1" and it was like what average height people feel with a regular king.
4". 72 to 76 wide.
You're right, of course. Would have guessed more, because it makes a huge difference.
It really does.
And only 4 sizes of bedsheets ever available at the store

Try Peach Skin sheets
And they are all a tiny bit too small.

Alaska knows what's up
Alaska knows how to huddle together for warmth. Twin knows how to have fun by himself.
Never heard of Wyoming or alaska king
That Alaska King has seen some wild shit
None of those silhouettes are a 6’5” person. #marginalized
The ones on the full double are like 4 feet tall! I own one and my toes are hanging off the edge laying flat. Nvm they’re kids lol
Do you have to build the house around the Alaskan King? How do you get it through the door?
That was my thought too. Alaska King looks like 'this is my bed room, the whole room is a bed'
Maybe they fold up?
Alaskans are kinky and I’m here for it I bet Palin is a certified freak
Who's Nailin' Paylin?
Alaskan here: am kinky. No Alaska king size bed though
Alaska fucks
These people are tiny.
Also my thought, a single person fitting on a 80cm bed is wierd.
The baby in the crib with a pillow is bothering me. Big no-no there.

Inches...
Alaska King Circle Jerk!!!

The way I toss and turn in my sleep I need 2 Alaska kings
Or perhaps a California Kong? It’s two California kings strapped together with gorilla leather.
Be good as dogs chew toy as well I’m guessing haha
Nope. I need and entire cruise ship worth of bed so there’s always a cold section of sheets
What are they doing in Alaska?
And now in the logical measuring units please...

Now I want Alaska king in my home.
We have mega bed Two queens for us and our furfam
Yo what’re the dudes in the Alaskan gettin up to loooool
Dang. What are they getting up to in Alaska?
Your post are awesome.but the images are blur.
That's a new one. Never seen that before.
Can confirm. If you get a king, your kids can and will comfortably sleep in your bed (unfortunately).
Twin is a lie obviously, or were ppl just skinnier then?
Honestly, I thought this was a murder scene at first glance.
Alaska King for my sexcapades… got it
So hi I'm from Wyoming. Where does the Wyoming king size come from that's completely new to me?!
Wyoming King AKA Ménage a Trois.
The Throupler™.
Alaskas proud polyamorous peoples!
I just read Alabama King in the last one
Why is it called a twin? In australia we call it a single.
It's called twin because the suite had 2 beds.
I thought I read the one with 4 people on was called an Alabama king... and that just made so much sense...
What’s going on in Alaska? 👀
Why is it called twin? Genuinely curious. Shouldn’t it be called single?
Ideally I'd have the last bed, but alas, I wouldn't be able to open my bedroom door lol
Is there not one fucking thing Americans can use regular unit descriptions for? Dafuq kinda reason is there for anyone to call it Wyoming or Alaska and then everybody goes along with it???
New Hampshire has a law that they shall have the biggest king bed.
That Alaskan King is for them swingers
Is the Wyoming King a Kanye thing?
Don't worry, he's gone, and his ranch is for sale. Guns keep the peace, and the libs away.
Mmm I get this is American but I don’t understand why a single would be called a twin??
I live in Alaska and never heard of this Alaska king
I’m guessing you don’t get invited to parties
You’re killing me lol
my household is 3 adults and we sleep fine on a standard king
Ok what size for two adults and two Doxies and one Chichewa
This is very Generalized! Too generalized. It vastly depends on the body size and mass of the individuals..Two big and tall adults will not fit in either California king or king size.
38" of width is plenty for the average overweight American. Also I'm annoyingly tall and a King is plenty.
Well we arent really huge, but big and what I can tell you is that we dont feel comfortable sleeping in a King size together. I am thinking it has something to do with the way you sleep too.
