I don't like shitting on people but this man deserves it. The Cowboys have always looked out for their mid-tier players more than other teams have. His grievances with the org is in his head. Probably dealing with underlying CTE if we can be honest with ourselves.
We did dodge a bullet but it wasn’t due to any kind of wisdom or good judgement. We agreed to a 5 year 70M extension with him. His reps didn’t like the language in the contract and just took the deal to Denver. But jerry wanted him.
Yes, Jerry and Stephen had managed to write a contract that would void him if he continued to get in trouble. He and his agent didn't like that. He left for easier pastures after the team committed and hedged their bets against him for a couple of years. So, how do you think they mismanaged that?
First , they have been mismanaging the team for almost 30 years. So botching things is the default. Second , you have no idea what’s in the contract. Third, even after all the suspensions , they still offered him a contract like the football morons that they are.

The tail end of the last year, his behavior (ref bashing after games, the weird rolling on the field thing, just overall odd energy, etc.) just made me think that while he’s not a ‘lockerroom cancer’, he’s not really what you’d want in a culture that aspires to going all the way.
