My first thought looking at the pic. Either way he would die in prison. Not that he deserves a break but if the justice system wanted to save some T&M on a trial they should have tried a little harder.
There are people who will cry this sentence is too harsh and even argue he deserves a second chance, they’ll damn sure fight to make sure these demons can’t be executed.
The mindset that prison is alright. They get locked up and get comfortable with it, so the behavior is repeated. When they get released, they think they can get away with just one more robbery, drug deal, murder, etc. and always come back because they keep trying their luck until it runs out. The criminal lifestyle is addictive to them and becomes a habit. I work with inmates, and this is what they’ve told me. I rarely meet an inmate who’s incarcerated for the first time.
Defense attorney here, this is sadly very accurate for a lot of repeat offenders. There are other categories of them as well. But it boils down to either lack of desire, lack of knowledge, or lack of hope, to live any other way.

I believe they need evidence in order to prosecute. But you said persecute, which is what you are already doing by accusing people with no evidence.
