> I assumed he was ordering his gifts from online creators.
He still is - it's not like he's designing the pieces himself, he's just doing the assembly. It's likely a kit [similar to this](https://www.amazon.com/Airplane-Bleriot-Aircraft-Collection-Birthday/dp/B08S6N252C?source=ps-sl-shoppingads-lpcontext&ref_=fplfs&psc=1&smid=A38RSLKYLEF8DL) - you get the wood pieces all pre-laser-cut, then you pop them out and glue them together to make something. Pretty fun projects, imo.
They make [board game storage kits](https://thebrokentoken.com/) which are similar to this, which I have a few of. Total win - You get the fun of building things, your games are better organized, and they don't take up any extra space, since they go right in the game box.
Someone in the YouTube comments pointed out that with the tumultuous events of Ashley's personal life recently presenting her with the top Google searches about her might get uncomfortable quickly.
I’m sure the comment section would be full of crap saying they’re not the real top questions too though. The episode might not discuss it but it’s giving an opening for others to, why put yourself through that?
Except the whole gimmick is that the person being asked the question can't see them until they pull the tape away, so they can't get them approved by her. Even if they run them past the rest of the cast, what might seem like an entirely innocent question could leave Ashley very uncomfortable.
It's highly, highly likely that they see every question before the cameras roll. The amount of artifice that goes into these kinds of segments is honestly probably shocking.
How old are you dude? XD
The amount of babying in your statement is too much. Ashley shouldnt do any kind if promotion because people might talk about her online. hahahahah
When the promotion is answering random questions that don't have anything do to with a specific project and she can't know what they are going to be ahead of time. Yeah, it makes sense she wouldn't want to do that.
That's speculation, but quite understandable.
After seeing what CR had to do to protect her, that's rather concerning O\_o
Then again, she... could have been unavailable for other reasons. That can happen too ;)
>Then again, she... could have been unavailable for other reasons. That can happen too ;)
Fingers crossed for Ashley being busy with TLOU3!
(if we're going to speculate... xD)
Im guessing you aren't caught up with the latest episodes huh?
While in previous campaigns she would be frustrating to watch often because of how long her turns would be to not achieve much (Yasha's turns were a personal least favorite), things have changed with Fearne. She is actually playing her really well, and is using her abilities to her best of her abilities.
You think he randomly wears those shirts any given day or he woke up that day looked at his calendar and saw the WIRED shooting and said "I'm going to wear this shirt"?
I think he wanted to wear a funny shirt but not one that would completely steal the show. He is also wearing a jacket over to kind of cover it. Like a happy medium between the two.
I was wondering if they had done or were doing a game shoot that day and he just wore what he would for the game taping. Taliesin usually doesn’t dress up that much for gaming, though.
I was not expecting to get a wired video for Critical Role!
I loved it, those nerds are such a great group.
I was sad to see that Ashley wasn't there, but otherwise the video was awesome.
I wish Ashley were there too, but unfortunately given the Google searches currently being used, I think the questions would be… inappropriate right now for Ashley.
Life just isn’t fair.
I assume WIRED would've just simply not used any questions pertaining to her personal life.
Which would've then inevitably lead to dicks in the comments asking why they didn't ask *very personal* questions in a fluff piece
Doesn’t it always? Then again, lines get blurry when information is offered. Laura and Travis and Matt and Marisha are VERY proud of their very healthy relationships, I think it’s awesome Marisha was also open with her own history. But after a while, that openness can cause problems. Ashley has to deal with that now. Me being me, I actually have kind of pulled back on my fandom not because anyone did anything wrong, just an uncomfortable feeling.
That's a totally normal way to feel. I really wish some basic stuff about behavioral neuroscience was taught as a component of primary media studies. Also wish actual behavioral collegiate courses weren't farmed out to the least experienced profs so frequently, but that's a whole other rant.
One of the coolest, most adaptive systems humans have is the ability to see (or even read about) something being done and understand how one could do it oneself. Mirror motor neurons. Essential for tool-using & skill iterating species.
Also ended up being a great, civilization-facilitating workaround for how hilariously bad we are at conceptualizing scope. We're awful at comprehending how many people there are on the planet and instinctively feel anyone we perceive is part of a community the size humans interacted with for most of our existence.
This has made theater, prose, radio, all sorts of media immensely enjoyable throughout human existence. Absolutely nothing wrong with or weird about that. And finding out something hurtful was occurring during a span of observed work we enjoyed is painful due to our abstract kinship with others generating empathy.
Saying all this b/c my own empathy kicks in all the time when I see comments feeling alone or weird about totally normal cognitive processing while enjoying media.
The ways this can go badly, like primarily observing experience rather than having it, becoming conflict-seeking or deeply bereft at perceived mistreatment of a media figure, etc. are honestly more likely to be communal and/or economic limitations constraining opportunity than someone individually receiving something "wrong" or pathologically.
All that to say "you being you" and pulling back strikes me as the very normal, reasonable reassessment response of becoming aware of suffering & taking that seriously as an empathetic being.
This was a fun video! It had a few new pieces of information that I learned. I don't think I knew the explanation for some of Marisha's tattoos, plus she revealed one that she's never showed before. Laura and Liam are planning on getting matching tattoos of feathers. I knew the Taliesin immortal joke was a private friend joke, but I didn't know it was because they couldn't find his birth certificate. Sam and Liam saying who knows what would have happened if they were single when they met. One of Liam's questions just being eyebrows was hilarious. I'm assuming it's because people learned in the pandemic videos that they are very thin, although always being furrowed is a fair alternative. People thinking that Marisha is vegan was also funny, don't know where people got that idea from.
It was great to see them all sitting around giggling. I feel like we don't get this type of content much from them anymore since they got rid of side shows and reduced the number of four sided dive.
>People thinking that Marisha is vegan was also funny, don't know where people got that idea from.
Pretty sure this is from the C1 times where people thought Keyleth was vegan lol
> I don't think I knew the explanation for some of Marisha's tattoos, plus she revealed one that she's never showed before.
I love her tattoo system, simple little pictographs of her life, all in black, here and there.
>I knew the Taliesin immortal joke was a private friend joke, but I didn't know it was because they couldn't find his birth certificate.
I always assumed it was a goth joke.
An unexpected surprise, hopefully the start of the wave for some of this sort of videos (as it usually happens when particular artists appear on wired). Made me realise how I miss seeing this talented bunch together in things outside of CR, bit more chill and enjoying themselves outside of the game
This was what introduced me to CR. I thought "Hey, these seem like funny people, and I kinda like DnD, guess I'll check it out" Fast forward to now, and I''ve watched both season of LoVM, all of campaign 2, and started on campaign 3.
This is amazing and I love that channel. I e watched this video so many times. The only downside to it is that Travis shouts out BEF 😐 but the rest is absolute gold.
Logistically probably difficult but would be so fun! I’d love to see their reaction to Nardwuar level questions
Tbf I’d watch snack wars, them breaking down their careers each, puppy interviews, song associations or any type of modern youtube “interview” style with them
Oh, I meant more so that getting reaction of 8 people to several hot sauces and giving each equal attention might be tricky, don’t remember hot ones having more than two people on simultaneously
I feel for Marisha on the Bechdel Test thing - she and Travis are more than any of them the reason why the entire apparatus of show has been able to manage itself - she was the engine during the G&S years (along with some other overworked staff).
That this interview is happening at all is thanks to her ability to meet the moment in 2015-2016. The internet didn't see that, though, so its curiosity is more in the personality side. :/
Meh, Laura and Travis had the 'how did they meet' question, same as Liam and Sam.
Imho the proposal one was the iffy one, BUT gave a funny tidbit of Travis almost stabbing someone :d
I think it was 1) the fact that they were the first questions that came up and one after the other, and 2) that there was no question about Marisha's job until the second round.
>gave a funny tidbit of Travis almost stabbing someone :d
Wasn't the other way around? Wasn't Travis who would have ended up stabbed?
It seems like the rest of the cast and crew always know to give Marisha her dues though, so I'm glad she doesn't go unnoticed by the people that really matter. And she knows better than most that the opinions and thoughts of internet fans are not always worth listening to.
They all own the company, so she's not any higher ranking than them. But they are her friends, so maybe they just want to lift their friend up and highlight her accomplishments.
Cast- CR players and Matt
Crew- lighting, sound, editing, etc.
As creative director Marisha is the crew's boss. I'm sure she's a great one and the CR Players think of their employees as family. I was not implying Marisha is the type to tell them to give her her props. Their respect for her is earned. But also people want to keep their jobs and diss-respecting your boss is not a good way to do that.
I'm closer to the age of the older side of the cast, and if they hadn't had what (kinda obnoxiously) used to be called a "new media native" amongst them, it really could have changed the trajectory of the whole project.
This comes up a lot when D20 is being discussed, and fans say "CR is more X" or "D20 is more Y," and I'm waving my hands & yelling, "No, the casts actually have *very* similar educational & early experience profiles. THIS IS ABOUT HOW FAST & HOW MUCH MEDIA CHANGED IN 10-15 YEARS."
Lol I mean Wired obviously selects the questions or they would have a lot of trouble. I like how no one's considering the possibilities that Ashley was just busy or didn't feel like it. Occam's razer, guys.
Or she's not there so the illusion of the questions not being curated won't be ruined. Or there's multiple reasons she was busy and they didn't schedule for another day when she wasn't because of not ruining the illusion.
whats crackin off with ashley? i keep seeing comments aboot it but dont wanna invade her privacy, but im a nosy son of a bitch too
either way shes hopefully vibin, nothing but good energies being sent her way

This is just the tip of the shitty iceberg of recent Brian, and I agree in sending Ashley good vibes and energy.
If it's what I think it is about C1 (>!Sam's character leaving!<), I would say if you've seen any C2 and C3 you've got way worse spoilers than that one.
And another thing, it's not what it seems.
The question " what is marisha new character" or something like that. I stoped there I thought it meant she had to make a new one... well ... im spoiled the other way around I guess but im relieved then thx xD
Unironically yes.
My best friend has no idea which tattoos of mine are new or old, with the exception of my half sleeve.
If he sees me in summer clothes he almost always asks if one of my tattoos is new. Sometimes it is, sometimes it isn't.
Marisha and Laura have their own careers, Laura has a son, Marisha runs a businesses.
They aren't high school friends, or people with boring careers, who have to update each other because of their boring lifestyle. And tattooes tend to be pretty personal and at one point they sort of get lost on the weeds.
What a stupid comment to make.
Huh. It's definitely a fun video and is a nice start to covering some of the things lost when between the sheets was removed. Also, Google searching has produced nothing for City Boyz as of yet.
No Ashley. Otherwise nice. Didn't know Travis put together the airship.
And the horse too! I assumed he was ordering his gifts from online creators.
He has shouted out some Etsy sellers for some things, but it doesn’t discount the love and thought he puts into the gifts
> I assumed he was ordering his gifts from online creators. He still is - it's not like he's designing the pieces himself, he's just doing the assembly. They're not literally the top searches. They curate them quite heavily.
I'm sure, but why take the chance?
There’s zero chance. Every question would be checked, vetted and vetoed as necessary before a camera is even rolling.
Sorry to ruin the show biz magic but every question asked on these types of talk shows is vetted and approved by their teams
You're adorable
Bless your heart
This is the internet... all the real random top questions for the women would have involved the word "feet".
It's highly, highly likely that they see every question before the cameras roll. The amount of artifice that goes into these kinds of segments is honestly probably shocking.

What?
Tell me you dont actually watch Critical Role without saying it...

chillllllllllllll
Sam wearing the Taliesin shirt lol. When did critical role eyebrows? 🤨

I think he wanted to wear a funny shirt but not one that would completely steal the show. He is also wearing a jacket over to kind of cover it. Like a happy medium between the two.
I'd not be surprised if Sam asked how they'd be seated to pick the perfect ~~victim~~ shirt for the day.
Yes
I was wondering if they had done or were doing a game shoot that day and he just wore what he would for the game taping. Taliesin usually doesn’t dress up that much for gaming, though.

I'm pretty sure WIRED selects or even makes up some of those questions.
I’m sure you’re right, but it is unfortunately just not a good time for Q and A for Ashley.
Maybe they thought that would give away the bit to people who didn't assume the questions are curated
I assume WIRED would've just simply not used any questions pertaining to her personal life. Which would've then inevitably lead to dicks in the comments asking why they didn't ask *very personal* questions in a fluff piece

I didn't know they loved Gmail that much.
What happened to Taliesen Jaffe?
I have a feeling that question is about his shaking hands. Taliesen has tremors. It is more noticeable when he gets emotional or nervous.
That's my guess as well. People seeing his Essential Tremor for the first time and thinking he is or has been acutely ill.
But like what *happened* lmao
God I wish I knew
I’m just glad they clarified how his name is pronounced; there’s at least three valid variations.
Many things, he's been around since the start of recorded human history.
Could also be about his characters (Mollymauk maybe?), like the question about Sam leaving CR was actually about Scanlan leaving.
An unexpected surprise, hopefully the start of the wave for some of this sort of videos (as it usually happens when particular artists appear on wired). Made me realise how I miss seeing this talented bunch together in things outside of CR, bit more chill and enjoying themselves outside of the game
If you haven't seen it yet, this is another fun one they did a few months ago: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gnDnhrmNbcY
This was what introduced me to CR. I thought "Hey, these seem like funny people, and I kinda like DnD, guess I'll check it out" Fast forward to now, and I''ve watched both season of LoVM, all of campaign 2, and started on campaign 3.
Oh! So now you understand the outrage at "A Thousand Miles" being on the list haha
I found the compilation video before I started watching C2. I was waiting for so damn long before they started doing it.
Oh dang, thanks for sharing!
This is amazing and I love that channel. I e watched this video so many times. The only downside to it is that Travis shouts out BEF 😐 but the rest is absolute gold.

Meh, Laura and Travis had the 'how did they meet' question, same as Liam and Sam. Imho the proposal one was the iffy one, BUT gave a funny tidbit of Travis almost stabbing someone :d
Travis *almost getting stabbed*, he was the tentacle monster that needed killing. lol

“Wrong knife!” “MRPH?!?”
It seems like the rest of the cast and crew always know to give Marisha her dues though, so I'm glad she doesn't go unnoticed by the people that really matter. And she knows better than most that the opinions and thoughts of internet fans are not always worth listening to.

Anyone know if there's any significance to the Abott Elementary joke or was it just the first show in Riegals mind.
Probably because it’s super popular right now and snatches awards left and right
damn i love these nerds, i could watch them goof around all day
I’m still trying to figure out Liam O Brien eyebrows
[Could be this ](https://the-only-edition.com/critical-role-fans-break-gofundme-records-to-unknit-liam-obriens-eyebrows/)
Clearly Sam has to reunite his boy band for an ad read at some point, the internet is thirsty for more
we all know their chemistry is amazing but jesus what a delightful video
Maybe I missed it in the video but what is the Gmail looking tattoo supposed to be?
Vox Machina, V and M stylised
Oh I see. Thanks!
“liam o’brien eyebrows” fucking sent me lmao that’s gonna be stuck in my head for a long time
Love Marisha's Ashari tattoo!
I need more info on the City Boyz. Quick google didn't bring anything up.
What a bunch of goofs
I love this so much! Liam and his eyebrows 😂😂 hahahaha so much fun
This is very fun.
Travis is as tall as my dad!! I have the same cat allergy lol
Those Sam questions!
"I love this show, I get to talk about myself" Sam Riegel
Where is Ashley? Is she safe? Is she alright?
Hopefully she is alright. As others have said that maybe the questions would be a bit 😬 with everything going on.
Lol I mean Wired obviously selects the questions or they would have a lot of trouble. I like how no one's considering the possibilities that Ashley was just busy or didn't feel like it. Occam's razer, guys.
Or she's not there so the illusion of the questions not being curated won't be ruined. Or there's multiple reasons she was busy and they didn't schedule for another day when she wasn't because of not ruining the illusion.
whats crackin off with ashley? i keep seeing comments aboot it but dont wanna invade her privacy, but im a nosy son of a bitch too either way shes hopefully vibin, nothing but good energies being sent her way
Things with her ex Brian, who hosted Talks & some other stuff, took an extremely disturbing turn. Resulted in restraining order & legal action. Hope she's doing well & currently having a calm & healing time. Also hope Dani's good on this front, since having worked closely with someone can make that sort of revelation quite a disturbing blow. I really doubt all that was why Ashley wasn't present, though. The "Google search" segments are always screened & wouldn't be as popular as they are if they randomly threw traumatic questions at people who showed up do do a fun segment.
She's recently broken off her engagement/relationship with Brian W Foster, who has turned abusive (and probably relapsed in his substance addiction), and Ashley has filed a domestic violence restraining order against him. This is just the tip of the shitty iceberg of recent Brian, and I agree in sending Ashley good vibes and energy.
I just got fing spoiled by this im so pissed... its a silly fun wired video I really didnt think they would spoil anything...
If it's what I think it is about C1 (>!Sam's character leaving!<), I would say if you've seen any C2 and C3 you've got way worse spoilers than that one. And another thing, it's not what it seems.
Its not that, I have like 15 episode to watch to catch up on c3...
I just watched it again and I didn't notice anything that would be a S3 spoiler...
The question " what is marisha new character" or something like that. I stoped there I thought it meant she had to make a new one... well ... im spoiled the other way around I guess but im relieved then thx xD
Laura doesn't even know that Marisha has a new tattoo? ...wow they really are very good friends 😂
Unironically yes. My best friend has no idea which tattoos of mine are new or old, with the exception of my half sleeve. If he sees me in summer clothes he almost always asks if one of my tattoos is new. Sometimes it is, sometimes it isn't.
She did said it was new lol
Look, who can keep track of what their friends without kids get up to when you're busy cutting up cucumbers and folding tiny pants?
common thing for millionaires to do chores instead of enjoying free time with friends i guess
What I was trying to say was that free time is limited when you have small children. Like, you can pay for someone else to raise your child. I guess.
There are plenty of people in my life I speak to on the daily, who are great friends, who haven't seen a decent number of my tattoos.
