Your stitching is actually beautiful! I had parents like yours, just ignore the mean comment.
The only thing I would say, and you may already know this so disregard if you do but, in the future give yourself 2-3 in of material all the way around your stitching for easier finishing with a hoop or frame.
Keep stitching, you’re really good at it!
You need to ditch your parents first of all. skik Enjoy your journey, tips I can give you are:
Don't tight it too hard, Always stitch in the same direction and keep doing them.
Overall, your work is good! I wish I stitched this good when I started! 👋🏼🫡🧵
Also my parents never supported me cross stitching, years later when they saw the type of things I’m doing they regret not seeing what I was trying to show them. They now support it, so keep on stitching! Enjoy it as much as you possibly can! It’s a form of therapy.
Do they think the quality of stitch is ugly or the subject matter? (They are wrong either way) Do they also have experience cross stitching? If they don’t, then wtf do they know? (Obviously not much because this is quality work, or they are ultra snobby elitist stitchers that can politely fuck off)
You did great kid don’t listen to them - sometimes parents feel they have to have something negative to say as often that’s all they heard from their own parents.
What a mean thing to say! And also very wrong! It looks very neat and beautiful! Honestly there's nothing to improve, dear!
It is NOT ugly, it looks great, the stitches are even and they are all in the same direction, it looks good and is very cute!
Your patents are full of shit, this looks amazing! Great tension and uniformity in your stitches. Plus, cute Kerropi! (I think that’s his name lol)
Thanks for the name of the frog haha

Word for word. Probably a bot since they didn't fix the grammar.

Nothing wrong with your stitching. Your parents on the other hand need some improvement.
This is far from ugly!! It looks neat and even and all the stitches are going in the same direction. They just don’t know good art, this looks great!!

Looks adorable! Cross stitch may just not be their thing, but you are not them. You are you, and it is good to enjoy what brings you joy.
