Just here to share that the GOAT Nano 2s are still made and sold. [might be worth checking out](https://www.reebok.com/p/100202119/nano-2-0-training-shoes)

sarnold95

What makes them the “goat”?

HRslammR

Well, GOAT to me. But for a few reasons: 1. Heel drop is lowest i've had. I LOVE flat shoes. Once you go flat shoes any heels are just super noticeable 2. wide toe box 3. light weight 4. still supportive enough for lifting AND running. 5. Surprisingly breathable. I wouldn't want to wear these in pure WET enviroments. 6. Fit me great 7. Cheaper than the new ones.

pguthrie75

Rad Ones. Tho I’d suggest removing the thought that your gym shoes are also your every day wear shoe.

OkAnimal609

Yeah, I have the TYR CXT-1s too and I only wear them when I workout. Once class is done, off they go and I toss on some new balance shoes I use for everyday.

pguthrie75

This is the way. Any good gym shoe will be too stiff for normal daily wear.

Khow3694

Yeah I'm starting to realize that. I was hoping to not have to buy two different pairs of shoes

RichRichieRichardV

Resign yourself. You should NEVER wear shoes daily. Alternate and let them breathe and dry. I guarantee you have very smelly feet if you wear the same pair every day.

rustyb42

Wearing my RADs in the office as we speak

pguthrie75

They are the best option for multi-use

Khow3694

How would you say they are size-wise? For my metcon 8s I'm 11.5 and reebok nano x4s I'm 11. Should I size up or down?

rustyb42

They fit me the same as my Nanos ever did, but metcons never fit me properly, too narrow

Khow3694

Oddly enough the metcon 6 and 8 fit really well for me but I'm wearing my nano x4s right now and I can feel it's too tight around my mid foot

hawkinsno2

TYR CXT-1s. I have used various other shoes and these are by far my favourite. The toe box is wide, but the mid sole is on the narrow side. I went up a full size. They should fit you nicely!

qbzapcmo

They ended up giving me plantars fascitis, sadly. I switched back to the Reebok Nanos and putting them back on felt like home. I should add that I use the Tyr runners for distance running without issue.

hawkinsno2

Reebok Nanos are definitely a more comfortable shoe but both my X1s and X2s fell apart… maybe it’s just me! 😂

anotherdaywasted

Ditto on the fell apart. My 8’s and 9’s have held up better despite being 3 years older. Newer models are absolute shit.

Do a search on this sub.

I just bought the Metcon 5 Free. The 9 is very stiff and for power lifting. The 5 Free is more flexible and light weight. It has a sturdy enough base for lifting during wods. But it has a mesh top if that’s a dealbreaker for you.

pro_taj

Second the Nano X3s are incredibly narrow in the middle. Was disappointed to find that out and was unable to get a return as I ordered them online

Khow3694

Yeah it's why I'm so damn hesitant about ordering gym shoes. I wish you could find them in stores but it seems like it's only metcons. I agree though I'm wearing my nano X4s and they feel too tight at the midfoot

I've been doing Crossfit for12 years and I like to run. I've never found a Crossfit shoe that was good for running. I love my TYR CXT-1 for workouts and it's fine for short runs that are part of a WOD. For running, I use New Balance running shoes. I don't use my workout shoes for everyday wear (until they are demoted when I buy a new pair). Different tools for different jobs.

sunnydolphin52

Inov8 f lite 245 - I have several pairs. The material is a knit type with no plastic ribbing pieces like some of the other lines have that would all go accross my foot and hurt (my midfoot, the spot right below my pinky toe). I have wide and flat feet. These have 3mm drop which I love. One pair for the gym and one I wear when I walk and one I wear out and about in real life. (I’ve worn a pair to Disney multiple days in a row with no foot pain.) Then I switch out the pairs when they get worn. They have good neutral color scheme too for an everyday out and about shoe. Only sneakers I wear. Edit: they will get wet and your feet will get wet if you step in a deep puddle or caught in the rain though.

julsssark

These are a great workout shoe for travel. They have very little internal structure in the heel so It's easy to put both shoes into one shoe bag in your luggage.

Frigy

Haze Trainers by Strike Mvmt favorite shoe by far and although not my everyday shoe I’ve worn it outside the gym plenty of times

altergeeko

If you really like your Metcons 8, you can just buy different shoe laces. Make sure you check the length of the original laces.
