Ah, Phyrexian Atlas for Rad Counters. I like this

Wrexial_and_Friends

Quite brilliant, Rarity is good, the powerlevel is under rather than overpowered, the flavor is present with the themes, and it feels like a real card. Only comments are that I wish it gave rads on tap if its mv is three because otherwise it's a little behind rate, this as is could probably be a 2 drop.

Thanks for the feedback! I was going for a \[\[Phyrexian Atlas\]\] kind of mana rock at a low rarity. Since it's easier for Rad Counters to go away, maybe this would feel more balanced if I increased the life loss to 2 life instead of 1?

itagiiii

I think it’s better if the card adds rad counters. I understand the parallels between this and atlas but it’s important to note rad counters go away. Atlas gets a consistent return on investment and there’s a very good chance this never really works.

A 2 mana rock that taps for any color with no downside? That is beyond busted, and will never be printed without a large downside.

Wrexial_and_Friends

I mean, is it though?

NervousLaw9241

Yes, undoubtedly yes. In the most recent set [[cryptex]] is a 2 drop rock that makes any color with a huge downside. It sees no play

Wrexial_and_Friends

I mean, how does a card that is worse than it not seeing play prove that it is broken?

NervousLaw9241

It proves that WOTC would never print a 2 mana rock, that taps for any color(with no caveat), with an upside. In theory, you could print a 2 mana rock that taps for any color, but only in a format like commander. See [[arcane signet]], but definitely not with an upside. If you wanted an upside, for 2 mana, with colored mana production, here is my idea: Cost: 1 generic, and one colored mana (wubrg hybrid?) So it can't be cast with turn one sol ring. Enters the battlefield tapped When it enters the battlefield chose up to 2 colors (Tap): make 1 mana of either of the chosen colors Mana abilities of this artifact cost an additional 1 life to activate [The rad counter upside you want]

Wrexial_and_Friends

mock it up and post it!

NervousLaw9241

I just did, I lowered the rad counter number to 2 and gave it the phyrexian atlas treatment because rad counters go away.
