Which is unrelated to this meme, as the meme refers to edges chatGPT Integration.
Switching to Edge wouldn't do you any good in terms of ad blocking though, as google bans the apis used by adblockers in chromium (because of "security concerns", which imo is a bad deflection that it hurts their bottom line), which is the open source engine used by many modern web browsers such as chrome, edge and opera. In terms of popular web browsers, only Firefox and safari will not be affected by this change.
Oh shit my bad, didn’t even see the title
Apparently Microsoft is implementing AI on their browser: https://vulcanpost.com/816037/microsofts-ai-powered-edge-can-make-you-dump-google-chrome/amp/
Watched Linus tech tips test it out and it actually seems quite competent! It still messed up a couple things like thinking a product description was a user review, but overall it honestly blew my mind
Not sure how useful it would be over just googling things for simple queries, as most people are quite used to that, but for more complex questions requiring multiple searches it seems to be superior. It appears to scan video transcriptions and comments and stuff along with the typical site you might look through, so it might find things in places you wouldn’t usually look. Thankfully it links its sources so you can verify any info, and if nothing else it at least curates potential site you might look through manually.
I noticed it does have ads, especially when your search includes something related to e-commerce (e.g. I’m looking for a shirt like xyz), but that is to the surprise of no one
I’m no Microsoft fan, but this tech is honestly the first innovation in web searching in decades and I’m very excited to see it grow
Another reason to leave Chrome: I was talking in discord about croissants and lo and behold i get a croissant video on my YT recommended. Fuckin uninstall that shit they have keylogger now
they integrated chatgpt into a side window/bar and can ask it just about anything, from composing an email, a reply to a Reddit post with variety of styles like humour, sadness, drama, [Austin Evans](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=14OjfjPxCHg) shows how it works very well, I'm switching if they can integrate Firefox style privacy with it
I'm failing to see what the benefit of chatGPT is though? Like what you describe just seems like a gimmick. I already know how to use a search engine effectively.
I can't really explain it, the video does it better, i feel like we're on the threshold of AI being integrated into our lives like the smart phone has.
See, I'm not really cool with that. We can barely handle the technology we already have like smart phones and social media. We need to be psychologically and legally prepared for AI before we implement it
*why* though? Firefox practically has a button to migrate everything from Chrome in an instant other than extensions, but I'm almost positive that the extension will be on Firefox if it was on Chrome. If you want a future with good adblock, your only real option is Firefox.
Chrome runs certain websites which Microsoft Edge and other browsers run poorly or even fail to run. Especially Edge as it tries to auto log u into prev Microsoft account and sometimes does not let u log into new accounts.
Goodluck man. All chromium based browsers will not have functioning adblockers in the near future and (from my experience) chrome does nothing against shady extensions (got a virus from one)
Edit: the virus i got was a browser hijacker which redirected all my google searches to some weird search engine (first i noticed chrome was doing this weird thing, installed opera gx and then this one also started to behave exactly like chrome after 2 days)

Discord is selling your data, just like every other company.
Neither do i
What's new on edge? I might be interested in changing too.

Edge is good but i missed the extensions from chrome, then got to opera gx, but its too bloated with stuff, now im on firefox cuz why not
you can use all the chrome extensions on edge too
"If you oppose AI" did fuckin Skynet make this meme?
No sane people use edge It’s a crime against humanity
Im here for Rokko’s Basalisk
Same!

Microsoft is literally paying people in redeemable points to use their browser. Just make a good product and stop spamming me about syncing my shit
Chrome forever

Just use your brain and dont download sketchy shit
You'd be amazed how many teachers and professors refer to shady websites and questionable download links
you mean this browser heart you? 🤔
What about opera GX?
