Idk, there was a time in media in general where they saw nerdy chicks as ugly for whatever reason and that's why when the prom part rolled around they always remove their glasses when getting a glow up even though they were never ugly and looked good with glasses
Unfortunately the stereotype still lives on, despite all the pushback. People who wear glasses are always pressured to switch to contacts, especially those in the entertainment industry where image matters, despite them being very uncomfortable for many.

This is a stereo type from the boomer era or even earlier. For extra ugliness make her a redhead with freckles and wearing braids. This stereotype needs to die.
I have red hair, freckles, and glasses. I always felt so ugly growing up in part because of this! I also thought that you could either be smart *or* attractive based off of these stereotypes and felt horrible because I didn’t think I was either.
In case it makes you feel any better, those three things are in my top 5 most attractive physical traits. Gingers and redheads are underrated, and so are glasses. I think a lot of people find those things very attractive, media just thought we wouldn't/don't.
So I was thinking there's no way there isn't at least 1 hot cartoon woman who wears glasses. I googled it and didn't see any in the pictures results. I still imagine there are some.
