Simply because this is a shounen and not slice of life. The value of characters lies in their abilities and battle prowess. Especially for a character that was established as a ninja and has a rare blood limit, to end up as a civilian and do the dishes in most of new scenes is just boring.
And it's even worse for hinata because she never had anything going for herself outside of being a naruto love interest so it feels like an author can finally stop pretending she is an actual character and delegate her to the role she was always meant to have.

Kawaki did not have to be tortured…he was because his father was Dario Brando lite and he was sold as a slave to isshiki(who is objectively one of the worst people to ever exist). This gives him the incentive to improve.
The real problem IMO isn’t that she became a housewife, but more that she’s the only one who initially had potential beyond that. When she’s first introduced, you think her character arc is about re-asserting her position and becoming head of the Hyuga clan. Two things you got wrong.
1. sasuke is unofficially the shadow hokage (or cokage). It’s not an official position, (the name is redundant after all) but everyone treats him as having it (and being the only one who actually deserved the position). Most hokages had one, So it is something the village needs. In addition. It is believed he is the current ANBU general, the only other canidates of the role are shikamaru, and sai.
2. Hinata is officially considered the hokage’s consort. A role which is traditionally equivalent to a forced sebaticle until, the hokage steps down. Because of the low life expectancy of shinobi, the hokage’s consort is expected to raise several children, (As demonstrated by both mito uzumaki who had at least one and biwako sarutobi. Who had at least two) who are usually considered shoe-ins for replacement hokage’s or other high positions. While she is more than capable taking someone out on her own. She probably has her own personal ANBU guard detail escorting her whenever she leaves the house. (Which is probably covered in privacy seals). She also is the technical head of the hyuga clan since hiashi is really getting on in years, and she keeps up with her jyuken, considering she was the one who taught boruto to use it.
Why is being a housewife demonized like it’s such an easy laid back and not to be appreciated plot in life. Ring a housewife is super honorable and not something everyone’s cut out for. Those who know a shitty home life can appreciate a top notch Mom

The real problem IMO isn’t that she became a housewife, but more that she’s the only one who initially had potential beyond that. When she’s first introduced, you think her character arc is about re-asserting her position and becoming head of the Hyuga clan. Instead, that plot is discarded entirely and just becomes more window dressing for Neji’s backstory. Also, is “Chunin Exam Proctor” really a job? Seems more like something you volunteer for every two years.
You're wrong,her character arc was about proving she could be someone who is capable of fighting too. Hinata as a child was always very gentle and didn't like to fight,but because of the circumstances of the village,child soldiers had to go on deadly missions and fight.Especially a member of the elite Hyugas was expected to do it. This actually suits her character more as now in times of peace she has the freedom to choose what she wants to do.
She stood up against pain for naruto, she's already certified one of the real ones. Being head of hyuga clan is just window dressing.
And Boruto still turned out like that

Stay at home parenting is not an insult, they a lot more than it seems. Sometimes some stay at home parents use it for evil (PTA teachers pets) cough cough... Hinata is one of the good ones. She supports everyone. Imagine you are in a battle and failing, some stupid trinket or some snack she gave suddenly gives some time to turn the tides. Stay at home parents deserve respect. Two things you got wrong. 1. sasuke is unofficially the shadow hokage (or cokage). It’s not an official position, (the name is redundant after all) but everyone treats him as having it (and being the only one who actually deserved the position). Most hokages had one, So it is something the village needs. In addition. It is believed he is the current ANBU general, the only other canidates of the role are shikamaru, and sai. 2. Hinata is officially considered the hokage’s consort. A role which is traditionally equivalent to a forced sebaticle until, the hokage steps down. Because of the low life expectancy of shinobi, the hokage’s consort is expected to raise several children, (As demonstrated by both mito uzumaki who had at least one and biwako sarutobi. Who had at least two) who are usually considered shoe-ins for replacement hokage’s or other high positions. While she is more than capable taking someone out on her own. She probably has her own personal ANBU guard detail escorting her whenever she leaves the house. (Which is probably covered in privacy seals). She also is the technical head of the hyuga clan since hiashi is really getting on in years, and she keeps up with her jyuken, considering she was the one who taught boruto to use it.

Housewife is a very respected job too. But that woman is absent from there too. I saw around 150+ episodes of Boruto and she was nowhere to found when her son/husband was dying... What special job was she busy with when her family was coming to end? Such a stupidly written character. Her character makes my experience of watching Naruto bitter.
