the comics themselves go out of their way to mention how OP he is and yeah sure hes really powerful but not really more powerful than a lot of other Justice League members

I wish the tree were universal. In almost every game, it's the first boss because Kirby decides that the best thing to do is to go beat up a random tree every time he has to go on a new quest.

He was a great character in JLA, he was a comic relief character that had great use, and some personal growth most noticeably through being a deadbeat dad and eventually deciding to try and make up for it.
His sexual harassment though can be off putting, very old timey cartoon type harassment.
