Ooh, being able to see your perks and descriptions IN a match is great.
As a new player, I've found it a little frustrating and difficult remembering what my perks do and how to activate them once I'm in a match...
Do you know if it's on the docket to add the ability to see your challenge in the menu too? I often find myself forgetting what I need to do, especially with the challenges that have multiple conditions or specific requirements that are more complex than "do gens" or "vault 6 times"
Can we still only see our own perks though?
Survivors would benefit a lot knowing what their teammates are bringing. For instance, the new perk from Sable, Wicked; If I'm hooked in the basement, I'd love to not waste one of my teammates time by having them run down to the basement when I can just unhook myself with the perk.
That's also something that can be easily communicated in a 4 man swf but not on soloq.
The only downside is people may lobby dodge certain perks they don't like.
They are so close to getting the pre game experience in a great state. We just need a way to see teamate perks and hide survivor ranks until endgame.
I don't even care if the perk reveal thing is behind a button press to keep the UI tidy, they just need to include it somehow.

Is the updated going to affect old generation consoles negatively? I play on the ps4 and I won't lie to be a little bit worried about what might happen, having some clarification can help ease my mind.

UE5 supports ps4 in theory, although some of the more advanced features will probably have to be disabled in the ps4 graphics mode. unless they really screwed up the console optimization, i wouldn't expect a difference. really will have to wait and see though.
I wonder how not being able to cancel unhooking is going to affect endgame scenarios where survivor A starts unhooking, then takes the hit and lets go so that survivor B can get the unhook
If being damaged still cancels the unhook animation, which it should, this shouldnt affect this strat since you dont really need to manually cancel the unhook.
Also currently cancelling the unhook can help you get an unhook in the endgame when the killer is facecamping without going down yourself. You can sometimes bait a whiff out of the killer then get the unhook while only taking a single hit yourself.
Didn't realise it could be used to troll people by blocking other survivors from unhooking though. In over 500 hours playing this game I've never seen someone do this.
Yeah survivors being toxic/trolling with the unhook animation is much more rare than the instances where unhook canceling is actually useful.
BHVR should really revert this change and think of something else rather than making gameplay worse due to a few people. I would rather BHVR add an unhooking cooldown for survivors who cancel unhooking like 3 times within a small window.
Yea this is a terrible change, this happens way more often than people being trolls to someone on hook, this has been a strat for a very long time with ranged killers...

I mean...Twins needed the love, no doubt. But I loved taking that little guy on a piggy back ride across the map.

I think that's too bad, I used to use that in a quite useful and specific situation. When someone is on hook, and the killer has downed someone else close. Then i try to bait the killer making it look like I'm going to unhook the first person. I even start the animation on purpose so that the killer walks with the carried survivor my way thinking he can immediately hook that one on the same hook. Then i stop the animation and the killer is then forced to either try to get to another hook (I've wasted quite a lot of his time that way) but more often he then is forced to drop the second survivor. Too bad, i really liked doing that, but ahh well I'll figure out something else.
Yeah this is easily my least favourite change from. Faking an unhook can be very important against ranged killers like Huntress and Deathslinger.
I would much rather suffer from a sandbagging teammate trolling in the 1 match it happens out of hundreds than get completely screwed over by the game mechanic multiple times more due to unhooks now being unsafe to trade with while injured.
I hope they revert it and instead only allow a survivor to do it like 2-3 times in quick succession before having a cooldown for it or something. This implementation is just bad.

Yeah and removing things like this takes away tools for advanced skillful play. Slowly removing things like this we will all just feel like bots playing the game
I personally dislike it. They can still troll by just t-bagging, emoting or just staring at you. I use letting go as an effective mind-game against camping killers.
Yeah trolls are still going to be able to troll, meanwhile good teammates just lost a valuable tool to try and mindgame a safe unhook or trade. Bad change for the game imo.
Sometimes the bar would fill before the animation finished, leading players to let go early. This change makes the action and the animation line up!
In other words: The bar fills up when the generator visibly goes "boom" now.
Thatās actually a super great change, itās small, but sometimes itās the small changes that vastly improve the health of the game, keep up the good work

Been playing since 2017. In all my time on the game, i think i've seen only one or two players actually using it to troll a legit player.
It's almost always done to people trying to suicide on hook on first down. Because those players are being MASSIVE babies and trying to screw the entire team over by making it a 3v1 because they got found first, it's a killer they don't like, they don't like the map, or they got outplayed by the killer and they're salty.
And frankly, i feel no sympathy for those players. If you're gonna be a baby and screw your teammates over because the match isn't catering to you, i'm not gonna feel bad if you get trolled and your time wasted in return.
Yeah I've never had this done to me, but there are people in here acting like it's in every game.

And the only people it's even remotely happening to frequently are the people suiciding on first hook every single match, lol. And even then that's a far cry.

A shame that not only did they make Twins more boring and OP, but they stripped them of their gameplay identity. Nothing like a bit of character assassination I guess... -_-
So wait, what is Charlotte now? Old twins were a team, Victor softened survivors up and Charlotte finished them off. With new twins it feels like Victor is the killer and Charlotte is mostly there to perform the chore of moving the body from A to B?
Im absolutely mindblown at these Twins changes compared to what Onryo and Pig got. You had a good Onryo on PTB and decided to make her shit going into live. But now you changed Twins into the worst design you made since Nurse.

This is a good change, but there are times when I stopped unhooked because the killer is coming back and I don't want the survivor to get tunneled.
The unhook thing, does that have a threshold or are you locked into the unhook animation like the killer is with hook action?, I'm just wondering how it works like if you go to unhook and the killer appears and you can't cancel the action to run and try and avoid a hit. It feels like this will make it impossible to not go down if you can't leave when the killer is coming back
Changing unhooks to being uncancelable isnāt great tbh. Iāve needed to cancel in order to save an endgame camp way more than Iāve ever seen someone spam in order to hold someone hostage. Thereās only one way to find out if itās a good change I guess. Really hoping this doesnāt make it to live though, itās already hard to safely unhook without trading after the killer hit cool-down was reduced a while back
With that and the blight and twins changes it really feels like they are dumbing the game down. canceling unhooks is a skillful part of the game in many situations. I honestly feel they need to scrap this update and go back to the drawing board.

First of all, I'm really excited for all the updates to the store. The bundles are intriguing, I like being able to see the different collections grouped together, and I LOVE being able to preview mix and matched pieces! I have some suggestions to improve the store navigation and ease of purchasing pieces:
\-After clicking a single cosmetic piece to see on the character, I wish it did not auto-scroll to the top because I want to click to the next piece without having to scroll back down to find it.
\-I would like to see the preview price of all three pieces I'm wearing kind of like how it shows in the current store but even when mixed, and then the total for all purchasable pieces.
\-Along with the previous, I would like to be able to purchase all the mix and matched pieces I have on in one click instead of having to navigate to each tab to purchase one at a time.
\-There needs to be a Lobby button available on all screens like with the Redeem and Get Auric Cells buttons. It's a pain to need to go back through all the previous screens in order to find the lobby button.
\-When you select the character from the All Surv/Killer screen I'd prefer it to go straight to their Customization tab like it does currently.
\-The All Killers/All Survivors button can actually be eliminated and instead just show all the killers/survivors when selecting the main Killers/Survivors button at the top.
\-When clicking into a character's Customizations, I think the default should always be the full body outfits like it is currently. I'm not sure what's effecting it but sometimes it starts on the head cosmetic when I select a different character.
I also have a general suggestion for PTBs that I'm sure has been asked for a million times:
When testing new characters in PTB public matches I think it should be like in customs where all perks are purple and available on everyone so you don't have to waste time going through bloodwebs and possibly not even have enough BP to level up perks on the new character and/or try the new perks right away on other characters.
I hope this is a good platform to post these suggestions, and I'd like to see if others have the same observations/opinions!
Twins main with 1.1k hours. I hate the new update. I just want the told Twins back with no changes. So what if they're the least chosen killer? They have a dedicated fan base. One of the killers is always going to be the least picked killer. And so what if some people play them by slugging? That's not all Twins players and so it's a percentage of a fraction of the time people play against slugging Twins. These changes feel bad and are not fun, and I hope they wise up and just keep the Twins the perfect way they were. Running around forever as baby injuring and then downing someone like old Legion is not fun. I want literally none of these changes. The only change I like is the iri coin or pocket watch add on change. I like that one, but make it injured by either killer and then LEAVE IT. Please and thank you. Love you guys
Am I missing something? I keep seeing people say that hook trading will no longer be a thing...but how? On live, the killer hitting you already stops the action, but you can unhook before they recover from the swing, but then you'll likely be hit afterwards.
How does stopping survivors from canceling the action change that?
It makes it impossible to bait vs ranged killers. Also there have been plenty of moments where I let go to gain more distance by starting to run before they hit me.
Finally, there is also the situation where you go to unhook, see that the killer is camping/coming back during the animation, so you cancel to prevent a farm. Can't do that anymore, now you just have to farm your teammate whether you like it or not.
It doesn't. All it does is lock survivors in when they start unhooking so people can't be trolls walking up to a hook and repeatedly letting go to be a dick.

Does it have to do with camping or?
Survivors mad at each other would often start the unhooking animation and cancelling it just to make the survivor hooked mad, the sound is pretty annoying and also would keep you on hook until you die. Which is pretty toxic and pointless but some people love it
spamming the unhook button would prevent saves and also slow their sacrifice timer by a fuckton (their sacrifice speed is paused during an unhook). you would also prevent the skillchecks.
so, they cant die for a long ass time, be unhooked by someone else, or kill themselves. this was a genuine niche gameplay strategy, but also just a way to bm.
Let's be honest it's almost always just used as a way to BM. I don't think I have EVER seen it done as a legit strategy and it never has looked like one, always resulting in SOMEONE getting hit and both Survs being worse off for it, or in a hooktrade. If it is in fact a niche strat, it probably only gets used at the higher levels of MMR and in very specific niche circumstances.
If something is niche but still is used more for harm than good, it's probably not that useful and could stand to be removed.
Cool, now add an option to remove headwear like hats/glasses and unlink all sets that shouldn't be linked. Head cosmetics should never be linked with the rest of the outfit, except in very specific cases like a hoodie.
I was actually gonna buy some cosmetics for the event stuff but when I saw they were all linked I refrained from doing so and I'm sure I'm not the only one. You're legit losing money.

Toggles for stuff like this and backpacks would be an amazing feature for BHVR to add.
Also it would be great if they went and added all the old rift skins to the shop from years ago that they likely forgot about.

Twins rework needs to be looked at again. Victor now impossible to get away from. I feel like he really needs to attach to healthy survivors still. That a bunch of other changes I can't name right now.
DS animation needs to be synced better. You can currently drop the survivor to avoid it. Plus I bet you can get hooked during it.

The new map update is awful. All the houses are complete dead zones now. Only one vault in each and at the top of the house. So basically they just changed the dead zones to inside all of the houses instead of the streetā¦.
Old charms getting put into bundles is a step in the right direction but HOLY FUCK all they've done is replace a permanent FOMO tactic with a time-gates FOMO tactic. Just stop using psychological nonsense to sell your shit.

Maybe it's just me but DS still looks pretty bad, they had a comparison clip and while hilarious to see how the "3" seconds stun gave you literally no distance, the new one is not so far behind, you get a bit more distance but it seems like people's worries that Survivors would be stuck on the new animation for a big chunk of those 5 seconds is correct...
The Twins changes look awful to play against, holy shit. Giving haste to everything is such a shitty and lazy way to balance. Jeff said "Oh but Charlotte's haste is healthy because she loses it on hit" and I'm like what? She gets the hit, she is gonna be able to use said haste offensively and not only to reach to Victor, how is that "healthy"?
And then Victor... He's gonna be miserable to deal with. Being able to keep injuring Survivors while invulnerable to kicks is gonna be terrible.

I'm just not fond of adding haste to everything. I think making it so that Victor was easier to re-call (which they did) or also allowing for a faster switch (which they also did) were great changes.
the haste isnt inherently to get back to victor like that its to get to the person you downed
pre rework twins werent just slugging because they were good at it, they were slugging because hoofing it across the entire map to pick someone up is miserable and burns a lot of time
now that said i agree that this isnt an elegant solution. if they wanted to encourage picking up they should have just let charlotte warp to victor when he downs someone. if charlotte can warp to victor victor should be allowed to warp to charlotte.
though overall this entire rework is scuffed in every way.

I don't think this is saying you see the other players' perks. Just that you can see your own and hover over them if you needed reminding of what they do(which you can already do in the lobby).

We still can't see others' perks at all. They said it'd take "years" to implement which I really hope is bluff considering they just overhauled a lot of the UI

I'm so glad the twins are getting reworked, but after watching a vid about the PTB(console players), I think victor would feel less stronger if he put players into a mending state before the dying state. He still attacks pretty quickly and being unable to crush him after a successful pounce makes counterplay really difficult.

When I first started playing this game, so many years ago, it took me a little while to figure out I wasn't actually damaging generators. I'd watch the animation. Gen would get kicked, I'd let go. Figured out you'd have to keep holding for like 2 seconds THEN it would damage the generator.
Also, was wondering if we can have any trading system for items to de-cluster them? Letās say 15 brown for a green or 10 green for a purple item/ add-ons etc etc. There is a build up of brown items which I never use and Iād rather swap them out for something else
I **really** hope we donāt end up with a Trickster situation where the Twins are somehow even worse than how they were before post PTB due to being too strong in PTB.
worst ptb in a long time, haddonfield is just awful now. Female vaults are bugged into oblivion again, it even feels weird vaulting pallets. The twins is absolutely ridiculous, how yāall thought that was a good idea is completely beyond me.

Why does that matter when the killer is going to hit you anyways and cancel the unhook?
Because that attempt is just a bait, the killer injures you, you run away and another survivor gets the unhook while the killer is in the animation
It matters more vs ranged killers. You fake it once then dodge, then get it. Now you're locked in place.

I think that's too bad, I used to use that in a quite useful and specific situation. When someone is on hook, and the killer has downed someone else close. Then i try to bait the killer making it look like I'm going to unhook the first person. I even start the animation on purpose so that the killer walks with the carried survivor my way thinking he can immediately hook that one on the same hook. Then i stop the animation and the killer is then forced to either try to get to another hook (I've wasted quite a lot of his time that way) but more often he then is forced to drop the second survivor. Too bad, i really liked doing that, but ahh well I'll figure out something else.
Yeah this is easily my least favourite change from. Faking an unhook can be very important against ranged killers like Huntress and Deathslinger. I would much rather suffer from a sandbagging teammate trolling in the 1 match it happens out of hundreds than get completely screwed over by the game mechanic multiple times more due to unhooks now being unsafe to trade with while injured. I hope they revert it and instead only allow a survivor to do it like 2-3 times in quick succession before having a cooldown for it or something. This implementation is just bad.

Yeah and removing things like this takes away tools for advanced skillful play. Slowly removing things like this we will all just feel like bots playing the game
I personally dislike it. They can still troll by just t-bagging, emoting or just staring at you. I use letting go as an effective mind-game against camping killers.
Yeah trolls are still going to be able to troll, meanwhile good teammates just lost a valuable tool to try and mindgame a safe unhook or trade. Bad change for the game imo.

What does the update about generator damage mean? I've rear this three times and have no idea what they are talking about
Sometimes the bar would fill before the animation finished, leading players to let go early. This change makes the action and the animation line up! In other words: The bar fills up when the generator visibly goes "boom" now.
Thatās actually a super great change, itās small, but sometimes itās the small changes that vastly improve the health of the game, keep up the good work

Been playing since 2017. In all my time on the game, i think i've seen only one or two players actually using it to troll a legit player. It's almost always done to people trying to suicide on hook on first down. Because those players are being MASSIVE babies and trying to screw the entire team over by making it a 3v1 because they got found first, it's a killer they don't like, they don't like the map, or they got outplayed by the killer and they're salty. And frankly, i feel no sympathy for those players. If you're gonna be a baby and screw your teammates over because the match isn't catering to you, i'm not gonna feel bad if you get trolled and your time wasted in return.

It interrupts it, yes. And the only people it's even remotely happening to frequently are the people suiciding on first hook every single match, lol. And even then that's a far cry.

The unhook thing, does that have a threshold or are you locked into the unhook animation like the killer is with hook action?, I'm just wondering how it works like if you go to unhook and the killer appears and you can't cancel the action to run and try and avoid a hit. It feels like this will make it impossible to not go down if you can't leave when the killer is coming back
Changing unhooks to being uncancelable isnāt great tbh. Iāve needed to cancel in order to save an endgame camp way more than Iāve ever seen someone spam in order to hold someone hostage. Thereās only one way to find out if itās a good change I guess. Really hoping this doesnāt make it to live though, itās already hard to safely unhook without trading after the killer hit cool-down was reduced a while back
With that and the blight and twins changes it really feels like they are dumbing the game down. canceling unhooks is a skillful part of the game in many situations. I honestly feel they need to scrap this update and go back to the drawing board.

Something that would be nice Be able to see our current rift challenge or daily challenge in a match. Because a lot of the time i forget which one iām doing and thereās no real way to see it Except in the lobby or main screen
First of all, I'm really excited for all the updates to the store. The bundles are intriguing, I like being able to see the different collections grouped together, and I LOVE being able to preview mix and matched pieces! I have some suggestions to improve the store navigation and ease of purchasing pieces: \-After clicking a single cosmetic piece to see on the character, I wish it did not auto-scroll to the top because I want to click to the next piece without having to scroll back down to find it. \-I would like to see the preview price of all three pieces I'm wearing kind of like how it shows in the current store but even when mixed, and then the total for all purchasable pieces. \-Along with the previous, I would like to be able to purchase all the mix and matched pieces I have on in one click instead of having to navigate to each tab to purchase one at a time. \-There needs to be a Lobby button available on all screens like with the Redeem and Get Auric Cells buttons. It's a pain to need to go back through all the previous screens in order to find the lobby button. \-When you select the character from the All Surv/Killer screen I'd prefer it to go straight to their Customization tab like it does currently. \-The All Killers/All Survivors button can actually be eliminated and instead just show all the killers/survivors when selecting the main Killers/Survivors button at the top. \-When clicking into a character's Customizations, I think the default should always be the full body outfits like it is currently. I'm not sure what's effecting it but sometimes it starts on the head cosmetic when I select a different character. I also have a general suggestion for PTBs that I'm sure has been asked for a million times: When testing new characters in PTB public matches I think it should be like in customs where all perks are purple and available on everyone so you don't have to waste time going through bloodwebs and possibly not even have enough BP to level up perks on the new character and/or try the new perks right away on other characters. I hope this is a good platform to post these suggestions, and I'd like to see if others have the same observations/opinions!
Twins main with 1.1k hours. I hate the new update. I just want the told Twins back with no changes. So what if they're the least chosen killer? They have a dedicated fan base. One of the killers is always going to be the least picked killer. And so what if some people play them by slugging? That's not all Twins players and so it's a percentage of a fraction of the time people play against slugging Twins. These changes feel bad and are not fun, and I hope they wise up and just keep the Twins the perfect way they were. Running around forever as baby injuring and then downing someone like old Legion is not fun. I want literally none of these changes. The only change I like is the iri coin or pocket watch add on change. I like that one, but make it injured by either killer and then LEAVE IT. Please and thank you. Love you guys

Am I missing something? I keep seeing people say that hook trading will no longer be a thing...but how? On live, the killer hitting you already stops the action, but you can unhook before they recover from the swing, but then you'll likely be hit afterwards. How does stopping survivors from canceling the action change that?
It makes it impossible to bait vs ranged killers. Also there have been plenty of moments where I let go to gain more distance by starting to run before they hit me. Finally, there is also the situation where you go to unhook, see that the killer is camping/coming back during the animation, so you cancel to prevent a farm. Can't do that anymore, now you just have to farm your teammate whether you like it or not.

I think it's more you cant spam unhook for BM reasons.
Survivors mad at each other would often start the unhooking animation and cancelling it just to make the survivor hooked mad, the sound is pretty annoying and also would keep you on hook until you die. Which is pretty toxic and pointless but some people love it

spamming the unhook button would prevent saves and also slow their sacrifice timer by a fuckton (their sacrifice speed is paused during an unhook). you would also prevent the skillchecks. so, they cant die for a long ass time, be unhooked by someone else, or kill themselves. this was a genuine niche gameplay strategy, but also just a way to bm.
Let's be honest it's almost always just used as a way to BM. I don't think I have EVER seen it done as a legit strategy and it never has looked like one, always resulting in SOMEONE getting hit and both Survs being worse off for it, or in a hooktrade. If it is in fact a niche strat, it probably only gets used at the higher levels of MMR and in very specific niche circumstances. If something is niche but still is used more for harm than good, it's probably not that useful and could stand to be removed.
Cool, now add an option to remove headwear like hats/glasses and unlink all sets that shouldn't be linked. Head cosmetics should never be linked with the rest of the outfit, except in very specific cases like a hoodie. I was actually gonna buy some cosmetics for the event stuff but when I saw they were all linked I refrained from doing so and I'm sure I'm not the only one. You're legit losing money.

PTB review: Twins rework needs to be looked at again. Victor now impossible to get away from. I feel like he really needs to attach to healthy survivors still. That a bunch of other changes I can't name right now. DS animation needs to be synced better. You can currently drop the survivor to avoid it. Plus I bet you can get hooked during it. Tons of bugs, self explanatory on that one.

The new map update is awful. All the houses are complete dead zones now. Only one vault in each and at the top of the house. So basically they just changed the dead zones to inside all of the houses instead of the streetā¦.

After watching them run the patch through Discord I have a couple notes: Maybe it's just me but DS still looks pretty bad, they had a comparison clip and while hilarious to see how the "3" seconds stun gave you literally no distance, the new one is not so far behind, you get a bit more distance but it seems like people's worries that Survivors would be stuck on the new animation for a big chunk of those 5 seconds is correct... The Twins changes look awful to play against, holy shit. Giving haste to everything is such a shitty and lazy way to balance. Jeff said "Oh but Charlotte's haste is healthy because she loses it on hit" and I'm like what? She gets the hit, she is gonna be able to use said haste offensively and not only to reach to Victor, how is that "healthy"? And then Victor... He's gonna be miserable to deal with. Being able to keep injuring Survivors while invulnerable to kicks is gonna be terrible. ~~**Big Positive**: It seems we're gonna be able to see teammates' perk load-outs on lobby and in-game?! I'm just not fond of adding haste to everything. I think making it so that Victor was easier to re-call (which they did) or also allowing for a faster switch (which they also did) were great changes.
the haste isnt inherently to get back to victor like that its to get to the person you downed pre rework twins werent just slugging because they were good at it, they were slugging because hoofing it across the entire map to pick someone up is miserable and burns a lot of time now that said i agree that this isnt an elegant solution. if they wanted to encourage picking up they should have just let charlotte warp to victor when he downs someone. if charlotte can warp to victor victor should be allowed to warp to charlotte. though overall this entire rework is scuffed in every way.

I'm so glad the twins are getting reworked, but after watching a vid about the PTB(console players), I think victor would feel less stronger if he put players into a mending state before the dying state. He still attacks pretty quickly and being unable to crush him after a successful pounce makes counterplay really difficult.

When I first started playing this game, so many years ago, it took me a little while to figure out I wasn't actually damaging generators. I'd watch the animation. Gen would get kicked, I'd let go. Figured out you'd have to keep holding for like 2 seconds THEN it would damage the generator.
