I was convinced at pick 23 that teams were gonna pick, like, the next 6 guys on our board straight or something. I saw trade is in, looked at who was still available, and creamed Honolulu blue.
Yeh , was it...14 offense players in a row? And im sure it woulda cost more than a third to grt up into that range for our pick of the defensive litter so...barely moving and getting "brads guy" (so CB1 regardless of other sources until proven otherwise)
Not at all a problem.
Branch was a monster at nickle/safety before the injuries pushed him to CB unless I'm wrong. I know he was eating the first few games last season.
Like four picks in five games or something unless I'm wrong.
Yeah nickel is becoming a very important position in NFL Especially in run defense. We’ve got the best in the league in branch. Kerry will continue as a free safety. Our secondary has shaped up very nicely with some high quality guys that can flex and fit multiple roles
Going into the draft I thought we would only take a CB if someone like koolaid or Wiggins fell to within striking range but Jesus Christ I never though we’d get Arnold. And what the hell did DeJean do to not go in the first round???
As the draft unfolded, it seemed more and more likely we would get a top corner, either Quinyon, Higgens, or Arnold. The run on offensive players and then edge/DE really played a huge part in us being able to move up without giving up too much draft capital. Looking forward to seeing what unfolds tomorrow and who we pick.
Dude I watched most of the league cream themselves over mediocre QBs and a bunch of positions we don’t need resulting in my number 1 pick for our position of most need at 24… oh *AND* we fucked the packers while doing it in Detroit.
With the changes to kickoff, I think we’re going to see teams using more physical players doing returns. Like Gibbs could be an amazing returner in this new kickoff system.
Ngl as a Rocket alum I was on my hands and knees the more Quinyon continued to fall. So sad that he ended up in Philly the same way Slay did. One of the teams I refuse to root for
The DB room is starting to look a little scary boys!!!! Regardless of what we do the rest of the draft, between free agency and the draft we are a better team in 2024 than 2023! Let’s goooo!
I’ve never seen a cornerback get so lit up and literally fall on his face constantly, it was actually a benefit to the team he did what he did, so we could get rid of his bum ass.
Both Dane Bugler of the Athletic and Jerimiah XXX of the NFL Network had Arnold in their top ten overall players in this draft. And he falls to 24 because of all the offensive players taken. I wanted him badly but thought there was no way we could get him and did not want to pay the ransom to jump in top ten.
Trading up means we got who we wanted and I love it. Giving up a 3rd kinda hurts, but this is a great pick at 24th.
Arnold is probably the best or 2nd best corner in this draft and fits exactly how we like our corners to play which is super physical, good in press and able to tackle and help against the run.
Just heard him getting interviewed on moving the chains. Literally no clue how he fell past 20. Dude went through every dropped or missed pick he had over his career at Alabama and what he did wrong. He’s dedicated to his craft. Brad is a wizard.

I feel like I'm halfway to winning our annual predict the pick. I also predicted him because he is who I wanted. LFG!!!!
Terrion Arnold combined with our free agency signings Amik Robertson and Carlton Davis, this is a very STRONG Cornberback room. The Lions' front office addressed our weakest position effectively.
And I did not expect us to get him what so ever, lol. Nobody did.
This is the EXACT energy I had when the Lions made the pick. Not 2 minutes before, I excitedly told my wife that Kool-aid might still be there at 29. I was meal-prepping and only half-watching, so I assumed Terrion was gone.
Holy shit this D is gonna be pitching shutouts boys!
Bears fan here. This was a GREAT pick for the Lions. A stud corner falling into the 20’s is crazy. I’m looking forward to seeing the run Detroit has following last season.
I'd have been totally fine if either of Arnold or DeJean made it to 29 considering how defense was dropping (and DeJean just might go there). But trading up a few spots for a small haul to get the slightly better CB and undermine the Packers? I've got a straight six.
Alabama fan here. This guy has it all. Watch some game film if you haven't. He's one of those guys that just stands out when you watch the team play, and that's saying something on a Saban team. He also seems to be a great kid with a great personality and work ethic. He was one of Sabans favorites and I think he goes a long way in this league.
I love the player, kind felt like we jumped the gun but oh well. I love Brad’s ability to draft in the mid rounds so I’m sad to lose a pick
I think he’ll be great
Our roster is looking so good I kinda want them to trade in the late rounds get our 3rd get a 4th maybe another 3rd idk. Like having 3-4 studs might be better then getting what the late rounds offer.
Brad clearly loves Alabama guys. Either saban out I wonder if he’ll still get Alabama guys lol. But I love it. It literally makes sence one of the most successful teams in the country… go get them
Dude I was in the city and I saw our logo flash on the screen for like FIVE SECONDS until they said the pick is in. I knew it was Arnold right away. The entire block exploded
Had to get aggressive to get this guy.
He is a very good tackler, has fluid hips and battles.
His personality lights up too.
High character and high motor.
Perfect pick.
It was an average 40 time, which ideally you’d like to see faster. But he had an elite 10 yard split and graded well athletically in most other areas. He’s a great athlete and he’s quick and physical, just maybe not quite as much long speed as other CBs in the class.
His size and measurables and play style are pretty much exactly like Jaylon Johnson. He’s not a burner but plenty of speed to still be an elite CB with all his other + attributes.
To be honest, Arnold Mitchell and Wiggins were all pretty indistinguishable for me as top 20 prospects. They each have questions.
Quick, strong, and the perfect mentality for this team. This dude is going to lay some massive hits this season, I can definitely see them bringing him in from the secondary a ton.
I was hoping we’d trade up for DeJean or really Mitchell, and kinda didn’t want to draft Wiggins, so this split the difference, but overall just thrilled we drafted a high-end CB. Just what we needed.
Ok, I have a question for you then. Who do you think will start for qb for yall. Because yall just drafted a qb and your backups from last year, weren't anything special.
Sounds like Sam Darnold will start until there is good reason to throw in our shiny new draft pick. Hard to say what happens.
The falcons team is who I will be watching for QB drama tho!
Absolute steal man how the fuck did he fall so far
So that’s why Campbell had a huge smile in the draft room.
That shit was INFECTIOUS
That's what my step-dad and I were thinking while watching this
Brad’s your stepdad?
Brads ALL of our stepdads tonight
Brad Holmes goes out for cigarettes and comes home with a candy bar and tells you he's proud of you.
Straight up draft DAD
Detroit's Amazing Drafter
Draft Dad, I like that. “Brad Holmes. Draft Daddy.”
At least this step dad doesn't beat us like our last one.
He’s the dad that stepped up
Step-Brad
Step-Brad
I was convinced at pick 23 that teams were gonna pick, like, the next 6 guys on our board straight or something. I saw trade is in, looked at who was still available, and creamed Honolulu blue.
You should probably see a doctor for that…
No need, your mom said it was normal
Yea, I'm pretty sure that's a common side effect from the butt fungus
Dr. Brad Campbell maybe, or his partner Dr. Dan Holmes
QBs LOL. So much non QB talent got pushed wayyy down
All those QB's and OL going early, worked out perfect for us, never thought he'd be within reach. So excited for this pick.
Yeh , was it...14 offense players in a row? And im sure it woulda cost more than a third to grt up into that range for our pick of the defensive litter so...barely moving and getting "brads guy" (so CB1 regardless of other sources until proven otherwise) Not at all a problem.
I already know he’ll be a stud
Brad has the ability to see into the future.
Brad is FROM the future
I’m just interested where they’ll play Brian Branch and Jkerb
Branch was a monster at nickle/safety before the injuries pushed him to CB unless I'm wrong. I know he was eating the first few games last season. Like four picks in five games or something unless I'm wrong.
Yeah nickel is becoming a very important position in NFL Especially in run defense. We’ve got the best in the league in branch. Kerry will continue as a free safety. Our secondary has shaped up very nicely with some high quality guys that can flex and fit multiple roles
Cb1 Arnold Cb2 Davis Fs Kerby SS IFFY Nickel BB MIKE Analzone OLB Barnes/j Campbell Dt alim/reader Edge hutch/???
Robertson might play nickel and they may put branch at strong side safety
Exactly who we wanted going in. MattBro21 is vindicated.
Never doubt MattBro21
What’s the backstory on this?

Wanted a corner and got one. LFG
The entire time I was watching the draft, I was saying Brad would draft a cb
Going into the draft I thought we would only take a CB if someone like koolaid or Wiggins fell to within striking range but Jesus Christ I never though we’d get Arnold. And what the hell did DeJean do to not go in the first round???
It was a weird draft. Only 3 CBs in the first round and all late. Dejean and Kool-aid will go early next round.
Be white
As the draft unfolded, it seemed more and more likely we would get a top corner, either Quinyon, Higgens, or Arnold. The run on offensive players and then edge/DE really played a huge part in us being able to move up without giving up too much draft capital. Looking forward to seeing what unfolds tomorrow and who we pick.
Same thoughts.
I hate how LFG has become "let's fucking go" when it has been "looking for group" since before most of yall were born.
Kool-Aid who? Now Terrion is my best friend
Keep calm and Terrion
Terrion my wayward son
Wait that actually goes hard
Kerryon: am I a joke to you
All my homies love Terrion
All my homies *are* Terrion
My wife is going to be so proud of me tonight
Lol
If Tom Grossi is mad, I'm a happy guy.
3 years in a row. Brilliant
He’s gonna love them picking the 6th or 7th OT who’s injured 😂
All from Alabama
Is that the dude that lost his shit last year when we picked Brian Branch?
Yessiree!
lol That meltdown was delicious!
He wasn’t happy about Jamo either.
Stepping in front or over GB will have Tom at his most sour
Looking forward to seeing it posted
Wasn’t like last year with branch.
HOLMES COOKED AGAIN

Love it. I thought him and Mitchell were pipe dreams
Dude I watched most of the league cream themselves over mediocre QBs and a bunch of positions we don’t need resulting in my number 1 pick for our position of most need at 24… oh *AND* we fucked the packers while doing it in Detroit.
FedTP
I honestly had Dejean as my 1 only because he's such a strong returner, but Arnold was my 2
With the changes to kickoff, I think we’re going to see teams using more physical players doing returns. Like Gibbs could be an amazing returner in this new kickoff system.
Dpj
exactly why he beefed up.
Ngl as a Rocket alum I was on my hands and knees the more Quinyon continued to fall. So sad that he ended up in Philly the same way Slay did. One of the teams I refuse to root for

This is the way
The DB room is starting to look a little scary boys!!!! Regardless of what we do the rest of the draft, between free agency and the draft we are a better team in 2024 than 2023! Let’s goooo!
Absolutely bro, we lost turds (Sutton, CJGJ) and got studs
Flush them turds!
Sutton was truly the most mid CB1 ever
I’ve never seen a cornerback get so lit up and literally fall on his face constantly, it was actually a benefit to the team he did what he did, so we could get rid of his bum ass.
Going from Sutton and Vildor to Davis, Terrion, and Robertson is massive.
And Moseley if he can recover
He was Nick Saban's wife's favorite player. All I needed to hear.
Miss Terry knows
I AM FUCKING HERE FOR IT
This guy was projected as high as 12th and CB was our biggest need. 14th highest rating on PFF’s board. So fucking STOKED.

Arnold is probably the best or 2nd best corner in this draft and fits exactly how we like our corners to play which is super physical, good in press and able to tackle and help against the run.
Giving up the third must mean we're comfortable with either WR or EDGE as it is, or that Brad has something up his sleeve for the 5th and 6th round
Hopefully they feel fine at WR and not Edge
Love it! I know the fanbase was super high on koolaid but Arnold is the real deal.
We were high on Kool-Aid because we thought we had zero chance for Terrion
I honestly thought Arnold would be in the 12-18 range.
Really happy QB fever spread among the GMs
thank god there were so many qb's this draft
This. If I thought there would be a choice it would be Arnold every time
Bingo. No way in the hell did we think Arnold would be there
They were high on Kool aid because no one thought Arnold would be there
In all fairness, I was mostly high on koolaid because I like his name.
I was too, but mostly because I kept snorting it.
Honestly it seems like bama fans are saying Arnold is better than Kool aid, so I believe them.
He definitely was this year
Just heard him getting interviewed on moving the chains. Literally no clue how he fell past 20. Dude went through every dropped or missed pick he had over his career at Alabama and what he did wrong. He’s dedicated to his craft. Brad is a wizard.
Many teams were trying to address their QB need and other sexy picks.
He's got that Sun God competitive streak in him. Brad Holmes pulls off another Lufthansa-level heist again 😩🤩
Nice reference
I'm all for this omg our front office is legit
Check on Grossi and lollllllllllllll

Listen Tom Grossi knows how to make a good pick for us.
Its like walking into a car dealership hoping to buy a nice corvette and leaving with a ferarri.
I absolutely love that he's jazzed to be here
Terrion Arnold combined with our free agency signings Amik Robertson and Carlton Davis, this is a very STRONG Cornberback room. The Lions' front office addressed our weakest position effectively. And I did not expect us to get him what so ever, lol. Nobody did.
And Moseley if he stays healthy
Spending a 3rd to move up for the 1A/1B cb in the entire class is a fuckin win to me!!
A+ got my cb1
Can’t believe it. wasnt even dreaming of it. Now I need to go do more research as I didn’t think we would get him. FUCKING EH!
I love this GM. Absolutely nailed it.
LEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEETTTTTTTTTTTTTSSSSSSSSSSSS FFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCCCCCCCCCCCCCKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKIIIIIIIIIIINNNNNGGGGGGGG GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Holmes bakes yet another delicious draft cake while teams are circle jerking over quarterbacks. Any other year this guy is gone in top 15.
Respectfully, he should have never left the top 15 and the other teams will pay for letting him fall into our laps.
Agree brother!

At first I wanted the kid from Toledo, but seeing him mope down the tunnel then seeing Arnold enjoy the moment… in Holmes I trust.
Yeah that was weird. You get drafted in the first round outta the MAC and you look like George Michael Bluth just depressed walking down the hallway.
Everyone, GET IN HERE!!!!!!!
Can't beat using the Cowboys to jump the Pack.
Fantastic pick, I wanted us to get DeJean but I’ll take Arnold, LFG great decision to move up
Bears fan here. This was a GREAT pick for the Lions. A stud corner falling into the 20’s is crazy. I’m looking forward to seeing the run Detroit has following last season.
Reach………ing down my pants in celebration!!!
Great pick. Pricey to move up 5 picks but he was also suppose to be a top 15 pick.
Worth it to jump GB, lol.
FTP
Great but I wish we had more picks so Brad could cook more
Welcome to Detroit!!
I'd have been totally fine if either of Arnold or DeJean made it to 29 considering how defense was dropping (and DeJean just might go there). But trading up a few spots for a small haul to get the slightly better CB and undermine the Packers? I've got a straight six.
Love it! The offense heavy top of the draft totally worked in our favor. Also, Packers man. Lol
I hope we can move back into the 3rd I love his excitement at playing for Detroit.
Best CB in the draft by a good margin.
See a need, fill a need. And fill that need with the BPA. Great pick, imo.
Sweet! Our GM knows exactly what he’s doing. 😁
This is great. We lucked out because the top picks were all focused on offensive players that we got arguably the best CB in the draft this late!
We made Tom Grossi die so we know we upset the packers with that. Completely worth it https://youtu.be/GGq-3gHVZj0?si=P4tDf-tRqq23vFY-
Alabama fan here. This guy has it all. Watch some game film if you haven't. He's one of those guys that just stands out when you watch the team play, and that's saying something on a Saban team. He also seems to be a great kid with a great personality and work ethic. He was one of Sabans favorites and I think he goes a long way in this league.
Very good, very happy with it. Paying a 3rd stings a tiny bit but it's worth it.
I lost out on a bass pro gift card but hey if Brad Holmes chose him he’s gotta be good
This is so fucking sick. Lions are in win-it-all mode. God damn what a time to be alive
Play hard draft harder.
Never in my wildest dreams did I imagine we'd get Arnold. He's the best CB in the class, this pickup starting from #29 is insane
I love the player, kind felt like we jumped the gun but oh well. I love Brad’s ability to draft in the mid rounds so I’m sad to lose a pick I think he’ll be great
Our roster is looking so good I kinda want them to trade in the late rounds get our 3rd get a 4th maybe another 3rd idk. Like having 3-4 studs might be better then getting what the late rounds offer.
A good friend of mine is a bama fan, he told me that he’s a really solid player. I guess that’s a good thing.
Well Grossi was mad we got him so I feel pretty good about it
He had the same reaction when we got branch and he's a stud. So welcome to Detroit Terrion!
Now lets get Mikey Sainrastil in the 2nd round
That would be so nasty.
Had to get aggressive to get this guy. He is a very good tackler, has fluid hips and battles. His personality lights up too. High character and high motor. Perfect pick.
The Lions desperately needed a CB, and Brad got the best one in the draft Brad may not be pregnant, but he always delivers
Question: I heard them say he ran a 4.5? Is that worrisome to anyone or is that speed fine for a CB these days? I have bad memories of Teez lol
Teez ran a 4.62 FWIW. Modern day LB speed
I think they want CB’s who will be physical and jam receivers on the line, but yes, I too still have PTSD from Teez Tabor.
That's what I was thinking when I saw his speed.
Jaylon Johnson also ran a 4.5... he's done alright
He also had the best RAS score of CBs so what he lacks in top speed he gains in agility
Trade up again and get Kool-Aid. Fuck it.
Huge fan of this, like him a lot
Home run.
Didn’t think we ever had a chance to get him. Couldn’t be happier
Love it. Thought he was going in the Top 15.
Quick, strong, and the perfect mentality for this team. This dude is going to lay some massive hits this season, I can definitely see them bringing him in from the secondary a ton.
Addressed a huge need.
A+++
How’d Xavier worthy fall into the Chiefs hands tho
W
dawg
Dallas gave Detroit a gift.
I was hoping we’d trade up for DeJean or really Mitchell, and kinda didn’t want to draft Wiggins, so this split the difference, but overall just thrilled we drafted a high-end CB. Just what we needed.
I don’t know how anyone could be anything other than thrilled with this pick.
Lions going to be a rough(er) couple games for my Vikings this year. You guys seem to loaded up!
I got money on Kirk getting injured in his first game.
Other leg going to go sooner or later!
I was thinking shoulder this time, but leg is always a good bet.
I actually put 100 on the lions to win it all this year back in February. Every day I like my odds better and better!
Brad, Dan, and Goff will bring us to the promised land that we have been denied for 60 years.
You deserve it!
