You shouldn’t drop your primary fandom because your team hasn’t been doing as well as you want them to in the playoffs. Especially when you’re looking to jump ship to a team that was mired by incompetence for 60 years, this success the Lions have right now could very well prove to be fleeting in the long run and lead you right back to where you are now. If I were you, I’d adopt the Lions as a #2 team, but you shouldn’t drop your primary fandom for such fickle reasons. If the Bills folded operations or moved, I’d get it. If they had awful ownership on par with Dan Snyder, I’d get it. But you can have things so much worse than 4 consecutive division titles and falling short to the NFL’s newest dynasty.

My brother in law is a bills fan and I went to a few games at Highmark, the tailgating is hilarious and amazing. Bills are now my second team. I don’t see any reason you can’t have an AFC team and an NFC team. Or a primary and secondary team. I don’t understand the band wagon attitude for a geographically close superbowl favorite, the difficulty of the climb to get there and the obstacles along the way make winning that much sweeter when you get there. I really don’t think the Bills management is incompetent, I just think sometimes you need to have the ball bounce your way a time or two and going up against a modern day dynasty isn’t helping things. I’ve never heard of no true Scotsman but I love philosophy and am interested to find some time to read in depth about it this, quickly googling and reading one short paragraph doesn’t easily allow me to understand and apply this to what we’re chatting about here. Maybe you’re saying that since what I deem good fans are, lions fans didn’t leave after a few management disagreements and losing seasons doesn’t mean that you can’t leave the bills for consistently having winning seasons and also having some management gaffes?
