Saying he couldn’t pick between Love and Stroud as the better QB made me question the whole video.

bigmattson

Love Perna, but he’s not the brightest football mind. Plus he gets all his Packer info from Grossi.

casper_but_with_a_j

Perna put the Packers at number 2 on his power rankings, behind only the Chiefs. They’re a good team, but they don’t belong anywhere near that spot. Even Grossi didn’t have them that high in his rankings.

naterator012

Clicked off after i saw that lol, i dont need the lions top 5, fine, but the packers at 2 is just insane. Like so bad youd acuse a sportswriter of only including it for clicks.

AffectionateSlice816

Dude, curse wheel hit 2. Perna knew what he was doing.

Mike_Laundry

I like Perna because I live in Denver and his enthusiasm for the Lions has helped teach my Broncos friends about the Lions.

DetroitVsErrrybody

Teach them what? I live in SLC and nobody watches this wheel douche and they know the Lions are finally a legit threat, after being bottom of the barrel for decades.

AffectionateSlice816

Stop the Perna disrespect. He's awesome.

Mike_Laundry

They didnt really realize Lions were good til they destroyed them last year. After that game Russell was benched. All my Broncos friends thought they were gonna beat us. Perna was ahead of them and knew it was gonna be a rough game because he pays attention to the Lions and I appreciate when a fan of another team has the proper respect for a different team

SloCooker

True, but he also gets all his Bears info from Grossi, which is a breath of fresh air.

DudeistPriest906

This is strictly about the curse wheel

Wiggymaster

To be fair, I don't think we've seen enough from either of them to judge whether or not they're going to be Hall of Famers or on new teams in five years. Remember that Carson Wentz was hailed as the next greatest thing to happen to Philadelphia before he got hurt, and then we found out that even Nick Foles was able to win a Super Bowl with that team. I'd give the nod to Stroud if only because it's incredibly difficult for a rookie quarterback to do what he did, regardless of what kind of team is around him, but for all we know both of these dudes could fall off a cliff next season.

PuppyPunter21

I'm glad they got cursed. Putting them at 2 is crazy. Half a season, and they're at 2? OK Perna, I want what you're smoking.

TheSciFanGuy

That surprised me as well. If you remove the names last year’s Packers are basically 2022 Lions (though making playoffs and doing well in them does change the story somewhat). I do think Perna puts a lot of stock into having a top tier QB (as seen by his Bills ranking) so having a young up and comer is always going to have more potential than a mostly known quantity.

Jagacin

I'm adamant that the Lions would've won a playoff game that year if they got in. They were on fire at the end of the 2022 season.

TheSciFanGuy

100% agree but they didn’t so I can understand the hype around the Packers. To be perfectly honest I wouldn’t be upset about them being put above the Lions on power rankings. Young team, exciting QB… I don’t actually think they are better but I can definitely see why they’d be put higher. It is a bit dumb that the Lions did basically everything they needed to to prove they were legit and were one of 2 NFC teams that actually did better than the Packers and seemingly fixed most of their weaknesses, but whatever they choked so I can see people being down on them. That plus legacy will color a ton of opinions. Overall though 2nd is absurd to me. If it was like Lions were 6th and Packers were 4th maybe I’d understand (even if I disagreed) but 2nd is crazy.

Dangerpaladin

Weren't we supposed to be cursed last year? I don't know if just falling short in the NFC championship game counts as cursed.

DetroitVsErrrybody

After our history? And the consistency we've had in the last in the last 1.5 seasons going 20-7 in the last 27 regualr season games. And 2-1 in the playoffs last year, for a total of 29-8 with zero back to back losses? He 100% spun that wheel 40 times to land on Detroit last year and just chose the best reaction and easiest prediction. Fuck that wheel. Putting GB at 2 is fucking wild.
