I think the treasure goblin from the ring would pick up white items, but maybe it was blues and yellows too, but it would drop a legendary item after 10 pickups, not mats. There was a seasonal buff to all the non-combat pets that would make them pick up all non-legendary items and automatically turn them into mats, and I think you combined the two. I don't know if they made that change permanent because I haven't played since that season, but I know people wanted them to.
They already have settings for turning on ambient sounds by rarity, seems like implementing at least a "don't show unless you mouse over it" function although that wouldn't help console much because they'd no doubt have to make that "don't show unless you walk over it".
It made more sense in the very slow methodical game they originally intended, but at this point yeah the sound is hardly a worthwhile thing to configure because you either see it or you don't.

This. The "Vulnerable" text literally obscures the damage numbers. I'd like to be able to get rid of that text and just have the numbers colored differently to denote normal, vulnerable, crit, or vulnerable crit damage. My assumption would be that turning off "Vulnerable Damage" in this menu hides all vulnerable damage numbers, which is not what I'd want.
It's just funny to me players were begging for it, Blizzard heard us and delivered!...the ability to turn off numbers or call combat text but not the ability to turn off "VULNERABLE" spam which was what players were fucking begging for.

Plenty of people complained at release that this (and other stuff) was missing. Now they added it and people are generally happy about getting a feature they've been asking about.

Is there anyway to get the damage to stay on screen longer or just a way to filter what damage is shown? I struggle to see where my crits and max damage is at. I have to screen record and watch it in slow motion.
Now give us an option to hide keybinds on the hud. it would go a long way into making the hud look cleaner. I dont need to constantly be reminded of what my binds are.
Funnily enough, there were alpha/closed beta clips where keybinds were hidden, but for some reason this option didn't make it into the game.
Top 1% of my character's damage of course.
Computers are smart things and so is coding. It can calculate a running damage range as you play and display only the top 1%, if a value is above the current top.. well the range changes and so on.
If it runs on the client's side there will be no stress on the server.
Would be cleaner and more useful overall.
Can we have a DPS counter? Total output of all damage done, like a running DPS average over last 5 seconds at the corner of the screen like they would show FPS of the graphics
They did all this but didn’t give us the most basic thing of logging damage for us to analyze. I don’t want any damage showing up on screen - just send it all to a log already

Would it be possible for Diablo to show stats the way games like COD of Apex do? I would love to know how much damage I contributed and kills I have gotten per section, like world boss, per helltide, dungeon etc. Especially when killing in groups. The damage shown in combat moves so quickly. How do you all keep track of this?
I honestly don't care too much when mage and necro basically switched spots, these damage numbers filters don't really matter. What we need is a better play by play of what killed us this time so we can avoid that bs

I've sold items with no GAs for 100m+. You just post the item and check every so often for offers, pretty hands off.

1% of what? That doesn't make sense, you don't have a range of possible damage, there's no way to calculate the 1% of something you don't know.
