it's already annoying enough that you could only have 6 lines of text in your bio before cutting it off, now it's down to just one before you have to click on full bio. it's so stupid. what's the point? just display the entire fucking thing or not at all, discord.

in the beta pre release, there was multiple options
classic, compact, ultra compact or minimal
classic was what we had originally, ultra compact is what we have now, and with the release of ultra compact, there's no longer an option to switch between the four, when previously it was stated in the beta testing servers there would be options to choose between them, and options to not have the new ui at all, similar to the 'compact messaging' mode on discord desktop
Do you have a source for this? I know they were 2 treatments of this experiment (basics & expanded (expanded is the one that actually rolled out and what everyone has right now)) but I don’t remember seeing anything about what you are talking about. Are you sure you are not mistaking it for another feature?
track record?? they reverted the entire mobile UI redesign and settled for something more familiar. months later they added back the original DM button on mobile that sits at the top of all servers. theyve reverted a fair bit of stuff.
To be honest, they did actually revert the design of the Nitro booster badges, but that's obviously something that majority of the users didn't really care about to begin with, since most people don't have Nitro. But yeah, that's about it from the reverted changes.

I agree, some servers especially gave so many roles it was unbearable. However, that is an option that would be relatively easy to compute, you could put in in the appearance option, same where you set the mode of your chats.
I do not see the need to make the profile max height like 1/4 of the display though, taking away part of the about me especially infuriated me since I am someone who keeps it neat. Same goes for pronouns and status tap. I am still hopeful they revert this or make parts of it optional.
PS: for everyone who also has a neat about me and wants to fully display it use "> " in front of every line; it will display everything, but you lose some horizontal space.

How do you make the profile more minimalistic looking without completely changing the profile UI? This is kind of a requirement in this case not an optional task.
well in my opinion I feel like discord should have options instead of just completely changing shit for everyone, server roles don't affect every user, I feel like the new profile design they did should be some kinda option, and if server roles don't bother you you could just use the original one, but idk

If Android, Search for an apk online and stop the auto updates, I still have the 202.18 version (which is like from a year or two ago) and it works perfectly fine without any of the recent UI changes that ruin everything.

Notes is technically the same amount of clicks if you are editing them, but it does take a bit longer to view existing notes you have on someone.
