Our poodle also loved beer. We had to warn people not to leave their cups/cans/bottles within his reach. He would drink out of the cups and knock the cans and bottles over to get at the beer.
That has to be weird for a dog. On the other hand i saw plenty of vomit eating dogs on tekno festivals completely out of it like their bosses. Never took my dogs to one of those, too much fear of loosing them.
My Boxer likes my dirty socks. I know it has my smell on it and it's pretty common for dogs to steal these but Jesus it stinks and he hoards them under his bed until I notice the smell.
My Italian greyhound is obsessed with socks. Clean, dirty, from the laundry basket or the hanging thingy, socks socks socks. He even grabs them from the drawers with his long nose. He keeps them in his kennel, everywhere on the carpet, and he brings us some when he runs to crash land on us lol. I even find some inside the bed.
Had a golden mix who’d only take one of a pair and leave them in random places, such as the middle of the living room. Never really hid them, funniest part is you’d also not really catch him with them.
My friend’s dog would bring every visitor a shoe from the shelf where everyone put their shoes when they went in the house. No matter what you were there for, she would seek you out and ceremoniously present you with a shoe, and confidently wait for petting. Not your shoe, someone else’s shoe, and only one.
O yes, socks. Only thing mine will guard if I would try to take it from him. Though luckily he will trade it foe high value treats... And we had to get a basket high on a shelf to put all worn socks in, or we would continuously lose them.
I used to have a dog that was obsessed with lavender. He would just rub up against lavender plants when we went on walks and when I bought some lavender scented shampoo he would sit next to me and bury his head in my hair. Some dogs are weird lol
My pup loves lavender! It's one of her favorite scents I put in her scent boxes.
She also likes to lay on my heat pad, but I'm always worried it will be too hot for her. I let her lay on it when I turn it off. It cools down in about 5 minutes, but she loves it so much she comes running whenever I click the heat off!
I had one that was bananas for bananas, 25 pounds of mutt who’d try to jump tackle you for it. But right now I have a dairy dope, can’t leave anything dairy unattended, milk, cheese, ice cream… he’s in to it as soon as you turn your head.
My dog is a fiend for Greek yogurt and cheese. He knows the sound of the cheese drawer and tears off for the kitchen if anyone moves it. If I convincingly record that sound he could have amazing recall. As it is, he has selective hearing.
He’s a Velcro dog most of the time, and if I had cheese within smelling range he would be impossible to get away from. He is only ever willing to wander around our backyard. Outside he is very ADHD (he’s a rescue and skittish).
Like he’s thinking “I hear a car. Look a bird! I have an itch. I need to sniff everything. What’s that sound? Ooh a bug! AHH the leaves moved! I hear a bell, is that a cat?!”
Maybe if I could put hard cheese in a little baggie and stash it my pocket. It’s a good suggestion, anything that would rise above his other impulses. He’s under 2, so I’m hoping he continues to mellow with age.
I wonder if I can use “Cheddar!” as his recall command. That would be fun!
Thank you whatfckingmess!
He is currently looking quite put out by my choice to eat dinner rather than give him 100% of my attention. He will try and make sure both of my hands and my gaze are on him. Petting him while browsing Reddit gets me dramatic disappointed sighs. How could I possibly want to do anything but stare at him in adoration while petting him endlessly? The neglect!
Right now he’s sitting on his pillow in the recliner working on looking so sad that Sarah McLoughlin should be singing in the background. He’s a ham.
I have not met the cuddle quota today. The unmitigated horror!
So your dog just wants to carry it as a lovey and not have you put the heat on him? Maybe he wants a real baby to take care of. He could be a foster daddy!
My dog is also weird when I use mine, but she, like... wants to bury it? Or attack it. She doesn't like seeing it touch me. But she doesn't do that with literally any other object.
My cat is snuggly but she gets EXTRA snuggly when I put on icy hot and tries to rub her face in the spot that I just applied it on haha your dog sounds like an adorable weirdo and sometimes they just can't help it
Mine selected himself a kids monkey one off a shelf at homesense when I wasn’t looking- now he taps the microwave with his foot when he’s ready for bed and wants it heated 🤦♀️
My dog is obsessed with paper. She loves shredding any sort of paper product. She’s ripped the empty paper towel roll out of my hand to go happily shred it into a million pieces.
She’ll try and counter surf for a receipt. She’ll steal your napkin very carefully and slowly while you’re watching her.
Fortunately she never eats it, so it’s cute to watch her try and destroy a tiny piece of paper sometimes.
Put the dog on your shoulders for heat, and let him chew the pack.
My dog loves my slippers. I have bad foot odour, so I hope she likes my smell; either that or she’s looking for the cheese I’ve hidden in them.
My dog is obsessed with lotion. Doesn’t matter what kind if I put it on she wants to lick it off. She never licks any other time. Sunday I put sunblock on and had a patch on my arm that got burnt that the brat licked the sunscreen off me. ( I wasn’t paying attention, I was putting some on my niece).

Some dogs are just weird. Had a female German Shepard that would search for alcohol at parties and drink unattended glasses. Never gave her a drop.
party girl
It was like she thought it was her party too.
Sounds like your German Shepard is definitely German if she goes around drinking beer
Wine, beer, sherry, whisky, only thing she didn't like was moonshine. And yes I've seen her drunk and she was happy and calm.
My dog is like that with coffee. I have to watch my mug and not leave it unattended or she'll try to get it.
Slurpees for my GSD. Can mention the word and he’ll be at the front door in seconds wanting to get in the truck
Only with alcohol mine did that.
My poodle loved beer, only ever had it at the gun range when she found shot up cans
My Rottweiler only liked beer, my Shepard was Janis Joplin.
Our poodle also loved beer. We had to warn people not to leave their cups/cans/bottles within his reach. He would drink out of the cups and knock the cans and bottles over to get at the beer.
Our GSDs do the same. Boozers.
:)
My dogs are the same way with peyote.

Our Iggy will grab socks and move them, im forever finding socks in the yard or random places in the house lmao

That's so cute haha
My mini poodle has found where both myself and my girlfriend keep our socks. She has since taken approximately 5 individual socks
My cat has a thing for my dirty underwear. I don’t understand why she enjoys the smell of them.
O yes, socks. Only thing mine will guard if I would try to take it from him. Though luckily he will trade it foe high value treats... And we had to get a basket high on a shelf to put all worn socks in, or we would continuously lose them.
Maybe the smell of it? We have a few at home and they have a curtain smell to them.
maybe? it smells like lavender i think

Does it have rice in it? My dog has killed multiple of those heat packs because he wants the rice.
It likely reminds him of his mom when he was a puppy. I have a stuffed puppy with a heart beat and a spot to put heat packs in to help with anxiety.
That’s the cutest thing I’ve ever heard
He just likes it! Get him one of his own ;)

My dog loves mine too! I got him one of his own and I just heat it a bit less so it’s not too hot for him to snuggle with
My dog loves my sketchers, she doesn’t chew then, she licks the insides. Lotta fun putting on shoes that are wet with dog spit.
Probably the smell of foods previously microwaved on the packs.
So your dog just wants to carry it as a lovey and not have you put the heat on him? Maybe he wants a real baby to take care of. He could be a foster daddy!
