Not really there is a chance that the gift you get by playing is a chest (just in winter feast and other events I think ) and that chest have 4 winter items that you can spool

Not much it depends of the chest but you get at least near a character by the end of the event

I've gotten the Wigfrid swashbuckler skin five times. Not in a row, but it's odd that it's happened.

I like to unravel all of the stupid outfits I get. Plenty of spools to spend on the others.

I hate when that happens. Sometimes I get it from characters I don't main, and if it looks good I won't unravel it and use it for outfits.
