I've found this annoying too. Any item added more than 2 years ago or so just isn't in the menus. Does anyone know of alternatives?
Type "too many items" in dst workshop, and look at the update dates and download the recent ones, i use "too many items revisited" by "Aly" personally.
Turn on the free crafting mode for any craftable items, and use console commands for the new items you can't craft
