Call your bank and say they didn’t give you what you ordered, they’ll give you a charge back

[deleted]

Will try that, thanks

jennabella911

Just know if you do call your bank and reverse funds you will be thrown off the app. ( Most people don't care I just thought I'd let you know.). Also always call I feel like when it comes to these situations that you get better results of you call. I'm sorry the restaurant and dasher screwed up. But with places like Wingstop among others do seal the bags to where we don't know if everything is in there and all we can do is ask.

allcityjohnny

Fuck em. make a burner email/use a second phone number app to sign up and pay with a DD gift card.

ManfredTheCat

Or learn an important lesson and not use the service?

TheCraziestMoose

Exactly… Too many stories out there regarding shady crap on DD’s behalf. Easier to just not use these services and the ridiculous fees. If I don’t want it bad enough to go and get it myself, I don’t need it.

PxyFreakingStx

People order millions and millions of things through door dash, of course you're gonna see some shady shit sometimes. Most people haven't had a bad door dash experience, or at least not a shady one. Not trying to go to bat for DD here, but you're succumbing to selection bias here.

[deleted]

while the posts here certainly aren't representative of the average, most people I know have mentioned a sub par experience at one point with door dash. and their whole business model is based on shady shit.

backflippant

Its still a shitty buisness model that is exploitative for both restaurants and workers alike. Its existence preys on people's desire for convenice over anything, which they can justify because they are so exhausted from livving in an exploitative system that pushes everything and everyone to the brink in an effort to sqeeze out every last ounce of profit. But yea its probably just.... selection bias ...

shemonstaaa

they say this while still ordering from Amazon. Blackrock owns basically everything. what are you doing about that? recruiting for the Amish?

PossumPicturesPlease

I hate both of them, and still order off of amazon occasionally. The times amazon actually messed up my shipment (not just delivering to the wrong house which happens a lot) they have corrected it, either via refund or reshipping the correct item. Including a time I ordered 1 giant whiteboard and they sent 3, which when asked they told me to keep the extra ones. DD on the other hand, will consistently send a "Too bad we did all we could :(" message.

“You criticize society yet you participate, curious“

Timely_Fuel_2289

I am a doordash driver.i used to make decent money but lately not.i am thankful for money I've made . With everything getting so expensive it blows my mind that so many are willing to make it even more expensive with delivery.its no secret that alot of research is done to see how to get more money out of our pockets and savings by convincing us we NEED what someone tries to sell.its personal responsibility to manage our money. ..not an easy task .GREED and EXPLOITATION are destroying quality of life .

JustKomodo

If people are prepared to pay for convenience why is that a problem? I don’t think there’s anything inherently wrong with delivery services. Sometimes I get a takeaway delivered even if I’m on holiday!

joljenni1717

I second this. Most of us live in the city since these apps will deliver to us. We're in and around food 5-7 days a week and can plan better. Becoming a mom is what made me realize how much I wasted on stupid stuff simply because I could.

Electronic-Ask-5524

After 7:00pm, a lot of restaurants lock their lobby (due to staffing shortages) so if you don’t have a car, you can’t go through the drive through to order food. Lots of people order to hotels after they spent the day traveling to get there and are exhausted and just want to get a shower and eat then to bed. I appreciate all of the people who drank too much or are impaired by drugs and opt to order delivery instead of hopping in their car…I find it absurd that so many people on this app have tunnel vision of why people order delivery. There are so many reasons. Not 1. Not 3. I ordered pet supplies because it was cheaper and easier to order delivery that to go pick them up. Plus I was aware that I was helping a delivery driver meet their financial needs by doing so and by tipping them well. What is interesting also is that some of the people on here who complain about the customers who order, who are not disabled, are actually delivery drivers. Like any customer who orders disabled or not, is funding your wallet!!

arienette22

Yep, it’s obviously for convenience, but there are specific uses, like the ones you mentioned, other than just feeling like getting it. I’ve never had a problem with Doordash or Uber eats, but if I did, I wouldn’t jump to telling people they have no reason to be using it. A more valid critique is the pay and treatment of workers, which is why I only order if I know I can leave a good tip, since I don’t think someone bringing me my order is only worth $2.50 of their time.

UmmDontBeThatGuy

There is a new law. Prop 22. Doordash has to pay us 125% of minimum wage + .35cents/mile. Tips are not factored into this calculation. It is required by law to not count tips when deciding if a dasher has met the minimum payout under Prop 22. Every week at the end of the week, we receive a pay adjustment in a lump sum that makes up the difference, if any(there usually is). This is quite reasonable to me, though nonprofit organizations are still lobbying for recognized employee status as Prop 22 only factors in Active Dash Time (moment of acceptance to moment of completion/cancellation) and does not consider the miles and gas navigating back to a hotspot after an order and the time waiting for orders. For example, a pizza delivery driver is on the clock whether he is delivering a pizza or not. But I feel like they also help around the restaurant packing orders and stuff so kind of a little different.

azha84

I was thinking the same. If OP has had these same issues multiple times and never gotten their money back, why would you risk $70 on another order? 😬

Redtwooo

This, dudes already been burned before, this should be the end of the relationship with dd

Grubbee9933

No kidding. "I've had these issues before". What do they say insanity is? Making the same mistake over and over expecting a better outcome? Something like that..

multiarmform

seriously, i wish all these delivery places would vanish. they didnt exist not too long ago and everyone got by just fine not paying 25-30$ for a big mac combo

Technical_Quote8455

Exactly I do that all the time and I refer myself to different email accounts to get discounts

zadidoll

Why use a DD gift card? If they fuck up again you’re out the money.

adavidmiller

lol, that was my thought. Like, I assume the reason is so they can't ID you through your card, but this whole scenario is over the lack of a refund. Buying a non-refundable, non-chargebackable gift card is not learning from your experiences :D

[deleted]

Fuck ‘em but let me jump through all these hoops to still be able to use their app. That’s crazy

davidc11390

It doesn’t seem like OP blames the dasher. He blames DoorDash the corporation for not making things right.

Thequeenmiss

I did a chargeback on my chase sapphire without getting kicked off the app. I provided the same evidence I’d sent to DoorDash and screenshots of my chats and was credited back immediately. That said, it was super clear that I’d been charged twice, but received some random Uber eats order and then got my first order delivered only after I ordered the second time.

bp1222

I have had to do this before with delivery services before. Sure enough, they toss you/lock your account until you make good on a payment. Enter, google voice phone numbers. You just can’t use the card that issued the chargeback.

marysm

Places like UberEats won’t let you use Google Voice numbers.

Ecstatic_Ad_9414

Unfortunately Dashers depend on the restaurant getting the orders right. Dashers are not allowed to open the bag to verify your order is as you requested though their contracts make it seem as if your order is within their purview. I'm not one to usually support Dashers but I feel they are being dragged over the coals for things outside their control and over their pay grade I agree to call DD but don't make the driver responsible for your honey garlic wings, the restaurant is. The dasher has no control and definitely can't open your order to taste the sauce. I would ask you to call the restaurant or call them out on IG. Dashers are paid crap and still do the job, not because they want to but because they have to. This sub has been a huge teaching moment for me. 💟Be safe Dashers

[deleted]

[удалено]

Drop_Tables_Username

Wingstop (and most places now) puts seals on the bags before handing them to dashers. To a customer, breaking the seal means the food was tampered with. Drivers are instructed not to break seals for obvious reasons. The drivers literally aren't even allowed to check most orders now.

Unexpected_Cranberry

Don't know about in the US, but just mentioning it tends to speed up the process of getting help. "I'm sorry, but I'm still waiting for the special team to reach out to me from last time. Unfortunately I it's starting to feel like my only option is to dispute the charge through my credit card company." Because as I understand it, if they get too many people demanding their money back on their card their fees for credit card transactions go up. And at some point with too many complaints they'll be denied service from VISA/Mastercard and the like. Keep in mind though that the same goes for you. Question too many transactions for non-delivery and the credit card company will start asking for proof things happened the way you claim and at some point probably cancel your card.

skillz7930

Call DD support. Not a guarantee but, as a driver, I typically have better luck with phone support. Chat support is really good for nothing.

Major_Station_9968

I instead expressed the threat of doing this to my chat support person if they didn’t credit me back. In my chat with support I expressed not receiving items I paid for is fraudulent. And that I’d mark the charge as such if I didn’t get credited. Next day I heard back and 80% of my meal was credited back.

TheDudeTodd

That would really piss me off too!

IHavePoopedBefore

Uber eats isn't any better either. They would credit you back $5 and that would be the end of any replies you get back. I've had orders where my food was not only wrong, but completely inedible. They credit the $5 and then stop responding, that order was $60

thoughtfulzebra

Yeah I agree with other comments on Uber eats - I once ordered $70 worth of food through them, one of the items was wrong and something I didn’t want to eat, so I sent a photo to Uber eats and they refunded me the whole order lol

theflameleviathan

I also feel bad for the customer service representative. I work in front end customer service (so picking up these first messages and calls) and sometimes the teams just let you down. They promise customers they'll respond with an answer tomorrow, that they comes and it's radio silence. Puts me in a position where I don't have the tools to help the customer, but the customer doesn't trust that they'll actually get a response in the future. Feels terrible and very hard conversations to end.

[deleted]

merthefreak

I live in an area that does a ton of the call and chat customer service for a bunch of companies. Everywhere is always hiring and if you've got a heartbeat and will show up to the building you can work at any of them. You dont have to work for the ones that make you lie and you help yourself *and* the customer by refusing to work at the shitty call centers.

MrKillerofthings

How are there so many posts of people getting fucked over by support? Anytime I've had an issue it was 5 minutes and they credited me instantly

kelsnuggets

Are you a DashPass member? I have talked to friends about this and I think I get a different level of service than they do for stuff like this because I pay for DashPass. I literally click a button that says “my XYZ was missing” and I get my money back.

MrKillerofthings

Ahh I didn't consider that. It's probably because of DashPass.

NewOrleansBrees

I think a lot of these posts try to get way more refunds than they let on or try to get all their money back for a missing condiment or something. I’ve had quite a few issues with food delivery over the years and never once was denied a refund.

[deleted]

Um, I used DoorDash maybe 5 times total and was denied a refund on the first order they fucked up so no.

Sharp_Distance7571

I wouldn’t be surprised if they were more suspicious of brand new accounts trying to get a refund on their first order.

crazygoattoe

I've also never directly talked to support for this. There's an option to do this via menu options and selecting what you didn't receive, and it usually automatically selects an appropriate amount to refund.

AnotherDrZoidberg

I would bet op is a serial refund requester. Maybe they have lots of issues, it's possible. But read the messages. Doordash indicates the account has a limit of refunds and op says I've never requested a refund "on this account". That's a weird thing to say unless you're circumventing policies with different accounts.

Furryballs239

Yeah, noticed that myself. You wouldn’t qualify it with “on this account” unless you have had other accounts where you have

hot4jew

I don't have dashpass and none of my orders have ever given me a problem when reporting something was wrong or missing. Very weird.

AlohaReddit49

Not the poster you're asking but I get refunds super easy and I don't have Dashpass. There's only been 1 time I didn't get my proper refund because the Dasher claimed he tried to reach out to me, but the picture he sent is the wrong house(my instructions have the color of my house). Aside from that one time though, I've always been able to get a refund, if something is missing or it goes to the wrong house. Support has mostly been helpful for me aside from they won't show me where dashers are told to deliver my food.

PerplexingCamel

I think there's a percentage because I have had so many complaints and no problems at all with compensation, but I also dash my lunch every single day. I don't know if I don't have a problem because out of 40 orders I'll have a single missing item? I'm always confused by these posts too though.

whatever556y

Seems like dashpass and vip (as you order every lunch. You are likely labeled as vip) get a special "give them whatever they want" note

AFlockofLizards

Well, it seems a lot more likely someone is gonna make a post if they’re upset about something, rather than if they just get their refund, hassle free lol

keatz_tweetz

Yeah that will stop eventually. Once you hit your adjustment limit you’ll run into this exact same thing

LazyLeadz

Because the OP 100% has a history of complaining over nonsense and getting credited for basically nothing, so they no longer help him and now he’s pretending like it’s unfair

Bacon_Nipples

Not necessarily, I used DD 3-5 times a week for close to a year and had issues with \~15-20% of orders (usually minor like forgetting drinks/etc, 3 times the order was marked as delivered but not actually delivered and no picture or response), and particularly due to the fact if a Fast Food place is out of something or the ice cream machine is broken, they just leave you a note and don't refund so you have to do it through support. One day BK's milkshake machine was down, they left a note saying to get the refund from support, and support refused. Called BK and they can't do anything about DD orders, they said to have DD contact them and they'll confirm/explain but DD refused and even DD supervisors claimed it was impossible for them to do anything once the system decides you're not allowed refunds. Only thing you can do is get your refund through the bank and stop using DD at that point

ReimuOtakuNeet

Hes also making excuses as to why he doesn't want to call the bank. Very obvious he just wants his account credited

mazeofterror

Just get a charge back from your bank. You didn’t get the goods and services that were promised. Your bank will in fact just give you the money back and I wish everyone can know this because it also hurts the company. I work for DoorDash doing deliveries but fuck them for being so shady. I see this so often lately and I know there’s a lot of people pushing this shit trying to get free food but there is also honest people. For those of you honest you rule and the rest of you should feel some shame. Anyway I got carried away but yeah just get a chargeback and if the bank asks you if you contacted tell them you did because well you have proof.

[deleted]

How do you know the bank will for sure give the money back?

mazeofterror

Because I used to work at a payment processor which is the middle man for transactions. I also used to program the terminals which are how you swipe/insert debit/credit cards. Trust me. Call you back tell them you need a charge back because you didn’t receive promised goods/services.

[deleted]

Depends how you paid. If debit card you have to open a dispute against the merchant which does not guarantee any money back, especially if they fight it. The bank’s reasoning was when I tried “you authorized the charge”. Credit card is entirely different and they guarantee your purchases. In my case though I haven’t had a merchant fight back in a dispute with debit card.

Bossfrog_IV

Debit: you paid with your own money. You have to fight to get it back. Credit: you paid with the banks money. They have to fight to get it back, and they are becoming exceedingly efficient at it. Same reason credit card fraud is 1000x easier to take care of than debit or check fraud.

Linnaeus1753

Well, we know they definitely won't if you don't try.

[deleted]

Forgot to add. I also ordered two brownies, fries, and another ten piece wings which were also not there. Beyond pissed. Update; called the support number and they told me the same exact thing. They said I was at my limit with compensations even though I’ve never received any “compensations” on any order before.

iowanaquarist

Ask for a list, in writing, of the orders that received compensations, and how much each was compensated for.

neverinlife

Dude can’t even get support to help them, you think they’re going to give them a list with this data?

Suitable_Nec

Reddit seems to have an obsession with getting things in writing as if companies won’t just ignore it just the same lol

brisop

If they don’t get it in writing from the company, it’s proof that the customer attempted to contest these claims and helps the customer should they decide to pursue compensation with their bank

GeotusBiden

Op is lying. In their post they reference "always getting this reply first" to the support agent. They are repeat scammers.

mitica_dragomir

Or they are someone who regularly gets shit service, which I've had happen with similar services. Had about 4-5 consecutive orders that were spilled, arrived incomplete or got mixed up with other orders. I never had an issue with being flagged as a repeat offender or something, since support asked and I provided photo evidence. It's clear doordash is scamming people and it's wild how many people still defend the company.

[deleted]

Ask them to verify what compensation you previously received. But honestly, my best advice is to stop using doordash. As a driver and customer for years, this company is getting worse and worse and worse. And they were already pretty shit to begin with. Last time I asked support to help with something they flat out said "No!" with no further explanation. I'm truly astonished anyone is giving this company a dime. Our household has decided we will not support the company but using the platform anymore and we deactivated our accounts.

MayhemReignsTV

Must be the same specialized team the drivers get referred to. They never call you back either ☹️

jennabella911

Wtf? Try again. Because I've had to hang up and call back 4 times before I could get someone to help. Their customer service is a joke between all of us drivers as well as the customers. Sorry I hope this does get worked out for you.

camelCaseCoffeeTable

What does it even mean to be at your limit? If they didn’t give you what you ordered, putting a “limit” on how much they’ll refund you is just theft. Contact your bank, chargeback the charge and just stop using these shit appa

[deleted]

So, Doordash support will never admit this, but they give refunds to their best customers. My ex used to order doordash 2x, occasionally 3x a day. Doordash believes I am it's best customer, and I always get a refund or credits. They review nothing, they just believe it. Everytime I see one of these posts, it confirms to me that Doordash has a bias against people who don't have an ex who *saved 3k in fees over a 6 month period*. Dispute it with your bank, and then never use them again.

SinnerIxim

Another thing is how you dispute the order. If you just tell the app it wasnt delivered you can get a refund, but if you try to contact support for a refund you are gonna have a bad time

Shoddy_Lettuce9522

I would call the door dash support and then email who you get a hold of and contact the place you bought it from for the manager to know next order

Bacon_Nipples

The restaurant doesn't care, they'll tell you to contact DD as they cannot do any kind of refunds on DD orders. Maybe a small business would help, good luck with a large chain though - they'll just say the system prevents them and you gotta contact DD

RVAforthewin

It’s not the the restaurant doesn’t care. It’s that DD is who collects the money and then a percentage gets sent to the restaurant. The restaurant doesn’t even *have* the money to refund the customer at this point in the process. I don’t care for chain restaurants at all but let’s be honest, restaurants are at a massive disadvantage if they don’t work with DD, GH, etc. but they also receive the brunt of the blowback when DD responds this way. The only real winners with these delivery/mobile apps are the apps themselves. Mobile customers are left frustrated, customers who arrive in person are left frustrated bc mobile orders are beginning to outnumber in-person orders so the people who actually show up at an establishment receive subpar service since the staff is overwhelmed by mobile orders, and restaurants are left frustrated bc a third party essentially has them by the balls. In our never ending quest for convenience we’ve just made everything more inconvenient.

Brief_Intention_5300

I don't know man. I'm currently at Papa John's and I'd bet 9/10 times we would replace the order if the customer called and said they got the wrong order. The business wants you to order again, so they'll probably work with you to make it right.

Tressticle

When I was a driver for DoorDash, it was actually near to impossible to find a number to call when something went wrong. I can only imagine the trouble customers run into.

OGenyZ

Happened to me but instead of contacting support I called the restaurant and let them know I got the wrong order and without hesitation they sent me the correct order. Probably different for other stores but its worth a try to contact them instead!

whatdid-it

Absolutely this. Sometimes it also can be the restaurant's fault. Human error happens. And it's pretty common for restaurants to compensate when there's an issue. Just make sure to give them a good review and tip if you can!!

Impressive-Dig-6678

I used to work for DD's CC. You are labeled as an abuser, You won't be able to get a refund.

Scared-Coyote4010

This is so stupid. What if doordash/restaurants continuously fuck shit up? How is that the fault of the person ordering 🤔 I can’t tell you how many times I’ve had to get refunds for orders where the ingredient/topping I specified I have an allergic reaction to is included in the order despite my order notes for the restaurant. Or sometimes my food comes straight up demolished by the dasher (I order perogies quite often and the dasher delivers them upside down with everything leaking out) and I’m not paying for that shit! Thankfully I have never been blacklisted..

MisterGergg

It's a small enough percentage that they don't really care. Even if your complaints are legitimate, you're still seen as costing them more than you make them so they aren't going to fight to keep you. Unless you have fraudulent behavior the status would be temporary anyway. All these companies use a ratio to describe your value to them, so just having orders go well is usually enough to get you back out of it and able to request credits or refunds again.

violetpolkadot

Curious about this label. What has to happen that the app blacklists you from refunds like that? Is it too many requests, too much money lost, or an agent/driver just suspecting it? I'm curious because I'm a customer and I always get refunds when I ask, would hate to be on a list like that!

Impressive-Dig-6678

Their system has an algorithm. Considers many of the things you said, but also things like account length, if the credit card was used in another abuser account, the % of your orders that you had issues with, and it compares if ppl normaly make claims from that merchant

[deleted]

ChewieBearStare

If I had to guess, I'd say 75% of our orers are delivered to the wrong place. Either my landlord's house (next door) or the neighbor around the corner. Fortunately, my landlord is honest, and she either brings stuff over or calls us to come get it if she's in the middle of something.

rulingthewake243

I'm in a cul-de-sac with 5 homes. I put the number. The #s are all lit up, say look for white work truck. Itll still end up at the neighbors. They just cant be bothered to look. How much more specific do I need to be?!

Linnaeus1753

My blurb for Menulog says: - Turn left into [street name] - Drive to the end of the street - Drive up the slope past the bank of letter boxes - Tan brick house with a 3 on it - Prayer flags over the porch They STILL get it wrong, even with me standing under the prayer flags waving at them.

Workmen

Yeah, and then we end up with posts on the driver subreddit titled shit like, "Look at all of these instructions these overbearing customers leave! What, do they think we can't find their house or follow basic directions or something?"

Dear_Profession_8297

kendrag37

This happened to me and I deactivated my account, I’m done with doordash

kevincold84

I deleted DoorDash and ubereats a few days ago. Goin old school with it and just picking things up again. Their customer service makes me more furious than traffic.

LovelySadBaby

In these cases you can call the restaurant and tell them you picked up a doordash order for "your name" and it was the wrong order, ask to come back and get the correct one. They usually will do it for you, even if you have to go to the restaurant personally at least it can somewhat be fixed on that side when doordash won't do shit.

Dull-Climate-9638

It’s likely you have asked for too many refunds in the past that algos tagged you as patterned behavior.

Blackwaya6669

Having gone through the same thing, the issue is, sometimes you dont even want a refund. They just automatically give it to you when you try to tell them about something. Like my orders have been messed up A LOT. Really i just have wanted my food, but they just go ahead with a refund, then start saying i have asked for too many and there is nothing they can do. I completely understand that people abuse systems, and thats awful. But when im missing parts of my order quite often, it sucks having to be punished for that. So have just quit using DD for the most part. Hasn't been worth it. Get my food fresher and usually at least get everything I ordered.

[deleted]

I've refunded 100s of dollars at this point after using doordash since covid. Not a single problem ever. I'm convinced these types of posts are from people whose accounts have been flagged for suspicious activity.

Hunter502204

This is why I always use credit cards for every single transaction (never owe more then you can pay off) because all I have to do is easily click 3 buttons in the app and dispute it

bigenginegovroom5729

Plus you get cashback. By having 4 credit cards in my wallet, I can average about 3% cashback. With just a little bit of discipline, credit cards can save you thousands.

StrawberryBlondeGirl

Why I don’t use uber or doordash, or anything like them

clevernamesarehard

I’ve found that if you’re a dash pass member and you threaten to cancel your subscription, they will often put in some more effort. ULPT maybe but ive definitely gotten credits and partial refunds like that. Ive received another person’s order once before from Dash Mart specifically and they told me to keep the original and sent out my order to me as soon as a driver was available. Odd that you never got your original order, we may be missing some relevant pieces of your door dash history.

Sea-Ability8694

Compensation limit? I’ve requested a refund many times and never heard of that

pizzasoxxx

Not as many times as OP I’m sure

Sea-Ability8694

I don’t even know how you can ask for so many refunds that they start saying no lol. I think maybe a quarter of my orders have been refunded to me

pizzasoxxx

Wow! A quarter of roughly how many orders? I’m curious

Bolhaboy

Wtf is this so-called specialized team? I’ve also been told the same thing and never received a follow up email LOL

MooseKnuckleBrigade

This happens far too often. I ordered chick fil a once and when the dasher got to the restaurant they were closed. When I contacted support for a refund, I was told that my account had too many credits in the past so the refund was denied. I ended up charging back through my bank and don’t use door dash anymore. Someone needs to bring a class action lawsuit against this scammy ass company.

Rdw72777

“I’ve had these issues before and always get this reply…” You keep coming back. This isn’t AT&T in the 1970’s, you don’t have to use this service to live a normal life. If you’re repeatedly getting bad service stop using the service.

loosehighman

70s? Try 2019. Since the pandemic companies have stopped giving a fuck.

EdzyFPS

Should always use a credit card for these services. Anything goes wrong, you just charge it back and there is nothing they can do about it. You might lose your account, but you can easily create a new one.

[deleted]

![gif](giphy|nJOWkhvZJyhm8)

OneSky408

Charge back on your credit card and don’t ever use DoorDash again.

heil_shelby_

Finally deleted DD. Over their shit. So expensive, shit quality service, incorrect more than it is correct. Never again

atrs1903

Threaten a chargeback. Seriously. DD will respond to that.

usp4e

Dispute the charge with your credit card

LikePappyAlwaysSaid

"You didnt give me a refund the last eight times this happened. Will you do it now?" "Lol no. And you'll still use our service. Fuck you"

duhCrawlingChaos

Just another hobo trying to scam a company out of a free meal. Pitiful.

Rootsinsky

Sounds like this guy has scammed door dash before and they’ve wised up to him. I never have any issues getting a refund for a wrong order

GeotusBiden

"I've had these issues before and always get the same reply" Followed by "I have never been compensated on thus account." Soo....you scammed so long on one account that you had to make a second one, and have already reached your scam limit again?

Stevemadden2489

This is your fault, you claimed your previous orders were wrong n it caught up with you

benjamintua

lol. sure buddy. you’re def not the type to abuse the compensation process.

[deleted]

My man said "It's not right ***to know*** that there were missing items in the order".

[deleted]

This crap is exactly why I quit using the app. If I get the wrong stuff or my driver takes items or delivers it to the wrong place, there should be no "compensation limit". Maybe ensure your vendors are doing their jobs right as well as your drivers. Then this wouldn't happen. And before anyone goes off on me, I used to Dash as well. I know what it's like from that side. DoorDash sucks as a whole. From driver to customer, they suck.

Key_Friendship_6767

I find the compensation limit a bit suspicious. OP do you return a high percentage of orders?

Kaolok

So common. DD’s customer service is a Kafkaesque nightmare. Compare this with any CS interaction on Uber Eats and it’s a joke. It’s borderline illegal

oscillatingfan22

Hey. Just stop ordering Doordash. It baffles me that people continue to order after even just one bad experience. You pay too much damn money to get screwed. Go get it

pizzasoxxx

If you seriously make the effort to make a post like this why are you even still using the service?

MrKillerofthings

How are there so many posts of people getting fucked over by support? Anytime I've had an issue it was 5 minutes and they credited me instantly

ChemicalMaleficent78

No offense but after the first fuck up I'd delete the app.

Shortty27

Call the store and see what they say. Most stores will either refund or remake your order but you have to pick it up.

Useful-Piglet-8918

I was given the wrong order the other day. I actually went back to get correct one & let DD I expect to be compensated! *high end restaurant, too! 😳🙄😡 I'll NEVER do that again!

[deleted]

This is crazy to me, and it's super obvious this is just running through a script or just a flat out automated bot response. I've only ever had one issue as a customer with DD, and I did a double dash for food and then a bottle of wine. The wine I received was half the price of what I actually ordered and the Dasher never contacted me for a substitution issue. I am a Dasher myself and never in my life would I just substitute something without approval from the customer first. And if I don't get a response for acceptable substitutions and they don't answer the phone, I refund the out of stock item. That being said, I contacted DD and showed the proof of what I received vs what I ordered and I immediately got a bot-like response of a denial to compensate for what I paid for vs what I actually received. It's so frustrating they treat both the customers and the Dashers like shit all the time. Like someone else said, definitely contact your bank. Hopefully DD doesn't ban you as a customer, apparently that's a thing lately too, and seems to be happening to the customers who were actually wronged and not IN the wrong 🤦🏼‍♀️

[deleted]

The shit customers ruined it for the legit customers

FumblesO

Don't order from door dash or any other delivery system. Save yourself money and a headache. This scam of a company isn't worth it and people need to stop supporting it.

WonderfulDark4578

I find Uber eats generally really helpful with these sorts of issues. If they offer some sort of compensation that you don't find appropriate, they will connect you with someone who processes it immediately. Maybe I've just gotten lucky.

MiddleSir7104

That would be my last dd delivery. Company isn't worth it if they screw you at every turn.

duuudewhat

I have a couple options for ya Ok 1 is my favorite and what i do 1) Dont order food delivery. Like what the hell man? It costs so much more and takes way longer than just getting it yourself. And you can check it when you pick it up. There’s absolutely no downside to getting it yourself Or 2) sign up for another account with a different email address. New account. New compensation limit if shit goes wrong

FamiliarRaspberry805

I fail to see why this is so difficult for people to understand. If they won’t reimburse you and they did not provide the service you paid for. Y delivering your order, stop payment with your credit card company. You will get 100% of your money back and it takes less than 5 minutes to do.

yodamiked

Credit card charge back. If they don’t provide the goods/services you paid for, they don’t get to keep your money. They breached the contract, simple as that.

itsmeonmobile

Don’t know what to tell you aside from donMt order DoorDash. This sub is full of this ridiculous and wanton disregard for customers. Sorry this happened to you! Hopefully you are in a position where you aren’t relying on this delivery service for food.

PoeticTwist

Wingstop usually gives the right order to the right driver. Takes forever, but they usually do a good job on their end. I don't believe this was a restaurant error. The driver could have had two orders, and mixed them up. Then that would be on the driver. I would contact support again, but by phone this time, not chat. You want to be nice and let them know that somewhere there was a mistake. You want to tell them you weren't satisfied with the resolution that you got via chat, and that you want a full refund. Or you will involve your bank. Tell them that you don't want a contract violation or the driver terminated.

[deleted]

I did all that. Talked to a live person and everything. It was very hard to understand what they were saying but it was basically a live version of the chat screenshots I attached.

SpongebobJokeInbound

Charge back with the credit card company & you’ll be fine. I’ve had great success with Chase & Amex when the merchant is being unreasonable, they will refund the full amount.

Powerful_Let_5355

Just dispute it through your credit card.

[deleted]

Why do you keep doing business with a binch of thiefs?

coltonswat

if you mention a charge back theyll escalate it

Medium-Map-3702

See this is why you call your bank and have them reverse the charge. Doordash can suck me if they think I'm paying for an order missing all of the food except a single small fry.

SeaAd3921

Try a concept " Presidents Desk" . Email the CEO over and over and over and over. Theres thing called the Internet. You upset because you got swindled? Shiiiii. Tenacity and sheeeeeer annoyance will gwt you addressed!!

msharifi

After repeated error why would you order again? Especially when they won’t refund you?

Justfortoday8-10-22

As a former Doordash driver who tries to deliver occasionally since getting a new job, I just found out this weekend they no longer have over the phone Doordash support and the chat support is the worst. Fuck Doordash

blackaubreyplaza

Report it as fraud

Araucanian_JerseyGuy

I stopped using Doordash after pandemic honestly, their prices are ridiculous and it's much faster to call restaurant directly for take-out.

alextravels1991

File a cc chargeback

MileHighLaker

How does the person not know they are talking to Ai? 🫣

DegenerateCactus

The amount of dashers going feral in the comments is crazy.

manipulating_bitch

Well, you're arguing with a chat bot...

JackMiHoff113

OP you know the support chat is an AI / computer automated response. Just ask to speak to someone on the phone or likewise. You are speaking to it like its actually a person which is a part of your problem.

vannuccim

doordash, grub hub, & uber all have the worst customer service. they really do not care and their service makes u want to pull ur damn hair out

Mindless_Ad5500

Stop using door dash. That’s the answer people. (I get that some people actually need food delivery and it’s a service that can help these people).

bl00df1redeath

Delete your food delivery apps.

No_Dig_5530

100% stopped using door dash because of this

Loose_Play_982

This is why I deleted the app. Even if they outright steal my order I can’t get my money back. I’ll just pick things up myself.

Matt_M_3

STOP USING THESE TRASH DELIVERY APPS. It isn’t “$70 wasted” because clearly you have regular issues and continue to use the service. Fool me once…

horse-face-ethel

I don’t know. This has happened to me as well, and they advised me to chargeback with my bank if I wanted my money back. They’re a weird company.

throwawayboobspls

I just don’t get why people keep using these apps, especially when they themselves have already had this happen to them multiple times… how dumb can you be? https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/insanity Get off your lazy asses and go pickup your food or order from a restaurant that does delivery in house. When will everyone finally get that these apps are specifically designed to rip you off of your hard earned money? Even if everything goes exactly as you hope it will you’re still paying $20-30 in fees and tip just to have that $70 order delivered by someone who literally hates you and will suffer no repercussions if they fuck with your food. I legit can’t understand how anyone has that kind of money in this economy.

knarlybro

The chat agent and the ‘team’ are just chatGBT lol

_babycheeses

Just to clear up your confusion; 1. the specialized team specializes in doing fuck all, and they’re good at it. 2. Your compensation limit is zero Hope that helps.

SaintHooligan

Wingstop has got to be the worst place to pickup at….minimum 30 min wait for orders in my area.

whoocanitbenow

70.00? What, did they have gold flakes on them? 😅

Thomasasia

Dispute it on your credit card

Ok-Worldliness7863

I’d just dispute it with your credit card or bank. I’ve done that several times when they’ve refused to compensate me and my account is not deactivated

[deleted]

Stop using these horrible services

tecktrader

What a dumpster fire of a customer support

clutzyninja

Stop. Using. Them.

TheCaveEV

Honestly at this point it's partially on you for continuing using the service when they've fucked you over before. If you know they're barely better than scammers why are you still ordering through them?

Lower_Carrot_8334

Learn the lesson yet? Stop using these services

phantaxtic

Stop using the app and delivery services. Think by now you would have learned your lesson
