If I was trying to be frugal I wouldn’t order DoorDash, I’d just get in the car and go get my food or cook at home. The same way you could say why take an Uber to the airport when you could take a bus. It’s an optional luxury.
Generally I would accept a $5.50 tip on that, because that would come out to $7.50 on our end with the Doordash fee and tip combined, If you tip too much, Doordash might send your order further out to another McDonalds and your food might arrive cold, or it might bundle your delivery with a non-tipper. It really depends, but I think most of us would be happy to deliver with that amount. Your $10 is very generous, but could net you some unforeseen side effects.
"If you tip too much DoorDash might send your order further out to another Mcdonalds"
That's some shadiness right there. But doesn't surprise me if they did some shit like that.
Over tipping ,but I am confused by DD,there is tax ,a driver, the food, gas, and I thought you paid a fee and that's it.But no,15% is a waiters, tip percentage and pick up at a restaurant no tip, there are rules people can look up.
Well seeing as how I tipped $7 on an $18.50 order and people still got furious about it I’d say not enough to a lot of people but to me that’s perfect 👍
Generous but not really crazy, depending on factors like general traffic and whether you are in the middle of the city with other restaurants or if you're headed out to the sticks. But at that mileage, you can't be that far in the sticks. It's based on mileage. For a waitress, this would be average. But if you live pretty far away from most things, you would probably end up tipping us more than a waitress, since we go by mileage and waitresses go by percentage.
Tip where you feel good about it. If you get poor service rate the dasher according and same if you get good or great service. Remember the dasher isn’t the cook or packing up your bag.
Definitely a very generous tip. 4.50-5.50 is definitely acceptable and I would be happy with something in that range. I would be thrilled with the 10 dollar tip. You can always start out with say a 5.00 tip and if the Dasher goes above and beyond you could always add a little extra on the app afterwards.
I would accept this. Probably $5 would do as well. Our local McDonald’s keeps Dashers waiting constantly 20 plus minutes (45 minutes a few times). $10 would be fair on the orders that take longer. I think some customers get upset when the order takes forever, but their isn’t much the Dasher can do.
As a dasher and someone who orders food although rarely, I take the distance from the restaurant and double it as you don't know how far away your driver is, then I tip at a minimum of $1.50 per mile. So, in your case, 6.6x$1.50=$9.90 so you $10 tip was solid.
I would be overjoyed to take this dash. And I hate McDonald's, they always treat me like shit and intentionally ignore me even when the order is already done when I arrive. At 3.3 miles your tip is quite generous.
As a former dasher & current Lyft/Uber driver, I really appreciate that You even considered tipping let alone raising the tip higher than the suggested tip. I'm a 5 Star Lyft driver which is not easy considering the way some people are these days, I get tips but not very much, I DO get great comments but people just don't think that they need to tip anymore since everything is so expensive. I really appreciate Your generosity on behalf of Your dashers etc.. 💜☮️ I really wish more were like You!!
I couldn’t imagine using DoorDash and not tipping. I accept that it’s a luxury and will cost more money than if I got it myself. If I didn’t accept that then I’d get in the car and just go get it.
I just said that with a waiter in my starte you tip 15%,and I was confused I guess,it's not the restaurant delivery it's a service to deliver whatever,I guess,I didn't realize That DD shops for a customer, etc.
You forgot that's door dash not Uber eats. So I have to move back to zone. So it 3.3 mile one way and 3.3 mile way back 6.6 miles total, 2 $ per mile would be 13.2$ so I don't move if it's less than that....

I cant fathom spending $40 on a single meal from McDonalds.
It wasn’t a single meal lol
I get the 3.50 bundles.
the post doordash clarity is gonna hit so hard after spending $40 on lukewarm mcdonalds 😔
It got here in about 10 minutes. Still hot
miracle !
This. Must have too much money, and not enough brains.

What
THIS I can't make heads or tails of what was said.

You're til is fine but there are a lot of people on here who would think they deserve more

You are over tipping but it’s okay I do the same thing

Phew thank you.
Five is about right.
As a dasher I’d take your order in a heartbeat
Ok cool thank you. Maybe that’s why it arrived in 10 minutes.
Too much because your going to get stacked with a no tipper
That’s interesting, thank you. I hadn’t thought about it that way.
a tip is a tip

Good tip! The rich need to pay their fair share as the president says.

Your over tipping, doordash is underpaying 🤣 12 bucks for 3-4 miles is good. What's sad is the 2 dollar base pay.
There is no such thing as a tip too big👌
I always tip based on how far the place I’m ordering from is from me. But I never tip less than $8
I just said that with a waiter in my starte you tip 15%,and I was confused I guess,it's not the restaurant delivery it's a service to deliver whatever,I guess,I didn't realize That DD shops for a customer, etc.
It's not $10 per mile. They will hate you.
3.3 mile tip should be 3.3x2x2=13.2$. So you under tipping...
entitled much 😂
Beggar.
You’re smoking too many drugs. $13 for 3 miles 😂
No it's fair price 2$ per mile.
$2 a mile would be $6.60. Not over $13
You forgot that's door dash not Uber eats. So I have to move back to zone. So it 3.3 mile one way and 3.3 mile way back 6.6 miles total, 2 $ per mile would be 13.2$ so I don't move if it's less than that....
