Never pay out of pocket. I did this 1 time, and it took 2 weeks of fighting because I wasn't eligible for a reimbursement. 🤬 The customer wanted a substitution, and doordash said it wasn't approved. I'll never loan doordash money again. My answer now is I don't carry cash or any form of money while dashing.

Sunshineyda

That’s what I was thinking! There’s literally nothing that I can stand on to get reimbursed except this guys word. I just didn’t want the hassle.

mcpickems

Unnecessary solution, i never would drive without money of some kind. Simply state you can’t reimburse even if you technically *could*.

pettywhite95

I never said I don't drive with money. This is my answer when they ask if I can pay out pocket. My answer is I carry no form of money.

Yes, I did it one time for a charging cable when I had forgotten my red card. I was promptly reimbursed with no hassle.

I never do it through DoorDash, but there have been a few times where when a customer is nice to me I will pay out of pocket for something and then they reimburse me in cash. I remember this one time CVS was closed early, so I took the list of items they wanted and went to a 24-hour Walgreens that was across the street. I think it was like $20 and she ended up giving me a $50 bill.

Mtn-Dooku

Yes, I have several times. I've always been reimbursed within a few minutes. But, always for low amounts. I wouldn't gamble on $40 either.

Sunshineyda

I have once. This guy needed doggie poop bags from Dollar General and the DG they sent me to was out so I just went down the road to the next DG and got him some. I didn’t even ask for reimbursement and he ended up giving me it back through tip so it worked out fine.

I do about 40 shopping orders per week, and I’ve paid out of pocket at least 200 times, reimbursement process is very simple, takes a few minutes, and they put it right into your weekly pay. And no, it does not get taxed, I’ve tracked it and it doesn’t show up on the 1099. If it did, you can easily write it off as an expense and then it balances out so no taxes anyway. But yes, it’s easy, not a problem to be reimbursed, and if you have a rewards program with your CC/debit card, you’ll get the points for the transaction. There also was an issue when there would be two shopping orders, the second would NEVER approve, or if it was (for example) Safeway grocery and then a Safeway beer wine and spirits shopping order, the alcohol order never would be approved. During that three month period I had the most reimbursements ever lol.

No way I'm trusting doordash. Id eat the unassign. Fix your card, doortrash

zerostar83

My ratings were affected. And I would clearly state that I will not complete the delivery until the reimbursement was processed and in my bank account. I was tempted to do that with my first ever issue with the Red Card this past weekend, but I also had another gig delivery app pinging me with a good offer so I unassigned and told the cashier "sorry, here's all the milk/cheese/etc. but Doordash just told me to abandon this delivery since their card system is acting up"

Patient-Capital5993

Twice and I was reimbursed both times no problem. One for about $50 and another for like $2 bucks

Yeah - had a double order for food and booze to the same customer. Grab the food, get to the liquor store and my red card doesn’t work. DD support asks me to use my personal card, and keep the receipt to be reimbursed. An hour later I get home and hit up chat support, send a picture of the receipt ($54). Support takes a solid 25 mins, tells me my account is credited. Cool. Refresh my account, the dumb fuck reimbursed me for the $7 food. Hit up support again, get a different person. Explain to them the first idiot reimbursed me for the $7 food order (wasn’t on the receipt). He reimbursed me the $54 a couple mins later. Keep your receipts.
