The workers are like 16.

They've become my all time least favorite merchant. All of them. I can't stand the way they take one order at a time and then make the food before taking the next order. Except when I finally get to the front and check in my delivery order - they set my receipt to the side and take another order. This part feels like literal "fuck you" from Wendy's. Also, waiting in line to check in a mobile order while looking at the sign that advertises "skip the line" for mobile orders is slightly enraging.

lovingthestocks

>Also, waiting in line to check in a mobile order while looking at the sign that advertises "skip the line" for mobile orders is slightly enraging. Especially when they have a drive through lane dedicated for mobile orders and doordash and you tell them you're there to pick up a doordash order so they berate you for being in the proper lane because they think it's not a mobile order... 🤦‍♂️these people are fucking infuriatingly stupid. Like... hear me out on this.... the sign has a doordash logo and also says mobile orders.... so I'm in the right lane right? "You have to wait in the regular line. This is for mobile pick up only." The local Wendy's near me that has 2 drive through lanes shut down the second mobile order lane with a bunch of traffic cones just to fuck drivers over. Fuck Wendy's.

trevno

I’ve gone to a few Wendy’s that accepted orders, but the sign says “store closed, no employees”. Any manager unable to fill a work shift during a weekday needs to be fired immediately.

blankethordes

Then you have zero managers and even less staff. My day job was forced to close for 2 weeks by order of the health dept bc 12 people which included 5 managers were placed in Quarantine due to 1 asymptomatic person. It literally took out our entire nightshift/ closers and made us unsafe to operate. The amount of stupidity out of the people coming thru try to order was unreal. Take a moment to observe, pretty sure the 9 signs stating Closed to blank date... would be a dead give away. Then we have me pressure washing the drive lane at 12pm on a Monday. Literally had some broad that had 2 brain cells bc meth took the rest screaming at me bc I was blocking the lanes so she couldn't order. More then a few people literally parked and tried to get in the lobby bc I had the drive blocked off for my safety. It was so bad the last 5 days that my store owner rented cones from a local asphalt sealer literally put a cone out every 3 foot across the back of the lot bc it butted up to the alleyway, literally all accessible points were blocked off.

People come to fast food restaurants because they're hungry now and they want food now. That's the nature of the business. Better get use to it, or work at a sit-down restaurant if you don't like the attitude. People in cars are just generally entitled assholes, but when they're "hangry"? Watch out!

[deleted]

I stg the last time I went through their drive thru there were two people working for the whole store. One of which had their arm in a cast looking ready to cry. 45 minutes from hell.

DelrayDad

Money laundering operation. Same for Walgreens which never has anything on their shelves

ProBluntRoller

Walgreens at least gives amazing orders

DelrayDad

Yeah but I ALWAYS have to call the customer and open negotiations on replacement items when I get a Walgreens order.

xjack3326

my dude I have given up, I just mark unavailable.

1thicccvette

You actually do that? Lol I never ask I just mark as unavailable and never had a problem , even if most of items are unavailable, that would take too much time for really nothing you still get paid the same

DelrayDad

You’re very right, I like Walgreens orders as a distraction from just picking up and delivering

somanyroads

Just take a picture of the relevant shelf, wait 2 minutes, then mark unavailable. Don't overthink things. We're not instacart: this is a glorified pizza delivery business 😂

DelrayDad

Appreciate it but further on I said I use Walgreens jobs as a diversion from regular deliveries. It’s entertaining and allows me to engage my brain for a few moments.

somanyroads

Thats why I enjoy Instacart at times, I'd give it a shot. Gets some walking in, escape the heat of the summer, and the pay can be decent too (if not as good as delivering food at peak times)

DelrayDad

Tbh I actually checked it out and it came out to $11 - $13 per hour. On normal DD days I do $15. Friday - Sunday is $20+

valisno

for me it's Jack in the box and burger King. rarely get a Wendy's order. the wait is just forever and cars in front and behind always leave before they get to order if the drive thru isn't locked in with a curb. it's wild

tjbrown12730

Same in Florida

ethicslobo98

This but Popeyes, I knew I was going to regret taking that order today 🙄

Shotz718

In my area, Wendy's seems to be the only fast food place that's normally on the ball. The rest (especially Taco Bell) have me waiting in line so long I could write and publish a book. I've begun to not even take those orders unless the pay is amazing.

somanyroads

Really? I find McDonald's has long drive-thrus but the food is almost always ready by the time I get to the pickup window. That's never the case for Wendy's, because they don't start making the food until you arrive. Taco Bell is somewhere in between by me, but they tend to get cars moving pretty fast (shouldn't be hard, I think they microwave most of their food lol).

SirGeremiah

Here, that was Jack in the Box most of last year.

busbythomas

Unlike McDonald's, their ice cream machine works.

TexasStateStunna

More waiting for items!

JtolaJeff

Wendy's is the second worst restaurant for pickup in my market. The first being Burger King. You might legit die waiting in the BK line.

Hot-Nature2611

I don’t take fast food orders.

Jasthestoner

Because people like you complain but still go

ProBluntRoller

I decline 99% of Wendy’s orders ...

Jasthestoner

Okay

lolola78

Because it’s only two people working there. Everyone rightfully quit.

ProBluntRoller

You mean only scheduling 3 hours a week but asking your employees to have a flexible schedule too is bad business practices?

typiyall

the wendy’s in my hometown was selling meth. you would think this would make them faster but nah, literally would have you sit out there for 30+ mins on the regular

Em-Rose19

I accepted a wendys order the other day. There was a handwritten note on the door "closed to 4pm" it was like 3:15... unassigned.

somanyroads

Fast food has ceased to exist, apparently. Corporations don't see to give a shit about drive-thru timers now, they just pull people up or make them park in the mobile pickup spots. It's a scam. Couldn't get out of the BK drive-thru for nearly 20 minutes last night, and there was maybe 5 cars ahead of me. Had a fucking whopper and Vanilla shake: still took them 3-4 minutes to hand me 2 items when I got to the window. No hustle at all.
