I’ve been top dasher/platinum for months with no problem keeping my AR (currently at 87%). Unless it’s an order less than $4 or less than a dollar per mile then I’ll accept the order. I’ve noticed that you’ll make more consistent money if you accept as many orders as you can. I’ve also noticed that the algorithm tries to put you on certain routes and if you decline too many orders it’ll learn it can’t count on you to complete set routes and it’ll give you even less orders. The algorithm also likes consistency; if you always start around the same area then it’ll count on you more to be a part of set routes. I believe the algorithm has set routes as us humans are creatures of habit. Certain people can be predicted to order out on certain days and at certain times of the day and the algorithm catches this and sets up routes. This is why you sometimes go around the same neighborhood and same restaurants; it’s following a routine. Consistency is key with being in a favorable position with the algorithm. Using these concepts I average around $700-$800 a week working 6-7 hours a day.
I try and just do a few low milage bad orders once in a while so that when the high low milage low pay orders happen i’m safe to decline. I’ve been platinum for months.
The second you go online the app starts loyalty testing you.
If you accept 2-3 bad orders in a row it will start sending you slightly better offers.
But if you cherry pick it sends you all the bad offers to destroy your AR one after another.
We are part of the largest non-consensual psychological experiment ever conducted.
It feels like the black mirror episode where you get socially rated 😭 sitting in chipotles parking lot freaking out about being 10 min behind on a double dash because I don’t want my score to go down and then reality checking myself
Most would consider PBH…but in reality that’s a joke. Odds are your not gonna stay busy enough to make it worthy enough to spend 6 hours dashing with their track record. And if you do…your gonna kill your mileage with nonstop distant orders.
Yeah I also try not to accept trips that take me far away from the dash zone or from home. But DoorDash and Uber eats both need to pay drivers for the time they spend driving home
My experience with dash by time:
Great way to raise acceptance
Mediocre pay
“Bad Orders” still exist, they’re just the ones that take you way out of the zone
Yeah low-pay isn't even what fucks my AR it's the orders that are 15 miles out which even at $1/mile is shit because you don't get paid for the drive back. Plus lately, I've had too many orders where I drive 20 minutes to the restaurant and they've given it to someone else...
I'll take a bunch of shitty $6-7 orders if they are only 1-2 miles of driving.
So, I hate the rolling average, too. But, if they’re going to have AR as a metric, how else do you think they should do it? Different time frame? Genuinely asking.
Honestly, your access to the most profitable orders should be based on your customer rating, on time percentage, and # of successfully completed orders for that restaurant or customer... But that would make sense and result in customers getting the same good drivers repeatedly, while the bad Dashers wait for new customers
Yeah the obvious answer is to go by metrics like seniority, rating, completion rate, maybe driving record, etc.
But of course they choose AR because it fucks drivers the most.
I only accept orders from previous customers. I have never accepted an order where the customer cannot or will not match the base pay of the zone. So when I decline a trash order it’s so I have a better chance of being able to accept one of my customers orders. That way it minimizes the risk that one of my customers gets a terrible Dasher.
I wondered the same thing, you must have a different Door Dash app than I have because I have no way to choose my customers. I don’t see the name until after I’ve accepted. And have arrived at Store. And even then there are so many different variations of the same exact name like Joe, etc, there’s no way unless I see the address. I actually do have quite a few repeat customers, but it’s not of my choosing.
Yea stupid tier program starts in my area next week. Got myself up to 50% AR only to be fed (purposely it seems) way upside down shopping orders with loads of items. I mean one right after the other. They know what they are doing. Or just straight high mile upside down orders. They come in batches.
I work thru high school and college delivering for a restaurant. I made 5 dollars an hr plus tip. Tip is usually 10% or less. I knew this is just temporary. It helps pay my bills at that point of my life but I know I’m not doing this forever. Stop whining and enhance your job qualifications to get a better job.
when you start getting close to 50 just do ebt for a few days and take your time and chill out. then when you feel it’s high enough go back to epo and take only good orders and rinse and repeat
How does ebt help when you still have to drive 40 miles in an hour for $11?
and are you not subject to getting dinged for extreme lateless while on ebt?
for some reason i can’t reply in the chat but thank you soooo much 🙏 I’ve been getting dinged for lateness a bunch lately and can’t wait to try your tip!
Either your market sucks or you cherry-pick way too much. I'm platinum and I never accept an upside-down order. My AR hovers in the mid-70s range all the time. Most of the orders I see are low miles(.5 - 3) @ 5-10 dollars, which they deem high rate of pay orders. You occasionally see the $7 for 12 miles, but i always decline those. I do this for 30-40 hours a week and take home $800+ most weeks. Never less than $700.
yeah i tried to start again after not dashing for 2yrs but my acceptance rating is 37% so it’s absolute dogshit and will take FOREVER to get back above 50%. I used to dash for an hour or two and get nonstop offers hence the low acceptance rate… now, i don’t even know wtf to do at this point. They give me like one $5 order per hour if i’m lucky even though my other metrics are literally perfect 100%’s
You can still schedule out early, just not at 3pm. My AR is currently 14% and I'm scheduled up until Thursday. Tomorrow morning or after midnight if I'm up, I'll schedule for Friday.
I get what he's he's saying but I think its market dependant. I schedule 6 days out every week from 6am-midnight and have no issue getting decent orders with a 14% AR.
💯 agreed
I noticed this as well. The AR seems to go down faster than it does up. This makes it where you have to do like two deliveries to cancel out one decline. And if your AR is too low…well now you’re gonna get lower offers. Meaning more declines. Which just leads to a Worse AR. It’s a cycle that only gets worse once you hit a bad sequence of offers. I fell to 49 AR and never thought I’d get out the red. I’m finally back up to 63 AR. Occasionally I have to do a bad offer because I don’t want to fall to low. The system definitely needs a rework as its scaling is off a bit in a way it seems rigged.
The declines should not be a percentage of the last 100 orders but a percentage of ALL your orders. So if you do 2500 orders but deny 250. You would still have an acceptance rate of 90%.
I’ve done both and I make way less with UE, it’s not even worth it. Last few times I tried it I got a lot of orders consistently but in the end made $14 an hour before considering gas/maintenance expenses. With DoorDash I usually make around $25 an hour.
Oh you think I haven't done that right? They told me that my insurance is incompatible with theirs I don't understand what the issue is but regardless I will not move forward on it and it's been this way for 2 years.
Trust me it's been a frustration since they bought out Postmates
UE has a lot of its own issues. In my area, they are so slow. I can be getting DD orders and not get one thing from UE. I keep UE running because they do sometimes have a busy day and send me some decent orders. Today they sent me 4 orders I would take in 5 hours. I only took 2 of those because the other two came while I was already on a DD. I sometimes forget to pause UE because I forget it is running.
So did my old manager at the wing shop. I tried to reject a low tip order once and got 3 days removed from my weekly schedule. Had to find a real job after that.
Is not being able to access the schedule 6 days ahead a glitch on your end, or is that for everyone that's in the rewards program? My area is about to have rewards program implemented and I've never been higher than 20 percent ar rating, if I can't schedule because of ar I'm done with doordash, I've never done a 2 dollar order and don't ever plan to.
It's a glitch. My area has had this new program for a few weeks and my AR is 24% and I can schedule 6 days out. "Early scheduling" is 7 days out, it's completely useless.
If your schedule normally releases at 3pm and your not seeing ANY time slots for ANY days in your area, not even the ones no one wants, it may be a glitch.
What has helped others fix this glitch is to open your schedule, click on preferences and UNCHECK ALL starting points then save and close the app. Reopen the app, schedule, preferences, RE CLICK starting preferences and save.
Here is the thing, AR is a rolling 100 deliveries stat. Here is how to get that stat up as fast as possible. Buy a bicycle, moped, scooter, or ebike. Sign in as earn by time on those modes of transportation. And take every order. Then, to make actual money, get in your car, sign into earn by offer, and only take the good ones. Rinse and repeat.
It took you this long to realize that everyone gets sent garbage orders? DD does not care about you. Sure they'll throw you a few small bones here and there, but that will always come with the slop they're throwing everyone. It doesn't matter if you're top clown of the month; they need these no tip orders to be delivered. The algorithm is designed to keep you as a slave, to take the slop so you can keep your precious rewards.
Where did you read that? I been knew that and thats not my point its about accessing the schedule and how people say doordash doesn’t force you, this proves they do.
This the part you fail to realize. You can decline as much as you want but under this reward program. If you fall out of silver and do not have an rank. You cannot schedule anymore. You can probably grab small slots that open up on the day but not in advanced. This effectively limits the money you will make.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m on your side, trying to trick drivers into taking shitty orders rather than just pay more is predatory af, but early access scheduling just means the schedule goes live at 3pm 6 days before rather than at midnight 5 days before, does it not? So losing early access scheduling would just mean you have to wait til midnight to schedule, not losing scheduling altogether.
Im far from dumb. But this sub isnt the place to brag about what i can do outside of delivering food. You are free to carry on somewhere else you nobody holding you hostage under my post.
Welp its 3pm and no timeslots available lol. Just the other day when i had 50 AR i could see the schedule. This is for the 7th day. So there is no beating DD, you either accepting bad offers to retain your AR or you not working much at all. But they indeed force you or lock you out
You can do that while you have silver gold or platinum but once you lose all of those and have no rank you cannot see the schedule 6 days out anymore. It will show no slots available even after 3pm. Thats the whole point of my post is you lose access to scheduling. You can set it before you lose it but again, once a new day shows up there will be no schedule for you to choose from. Like did you even read or just replied first. Its almost 3pm i will show you lol
I only have top Dasher or not top Dasher in my market. I don’t have the silver gold platinum tiers yet. So that means you’re basically fired if you’re under 50% acceptance rate.
Are you under the rewards program. And it tells you plain as day Silver has access to early schedule. If your market has rewards and you are not silver gold or platinum then you wont have that feature. Its not location specific its part of the program
I have the rewards program in my area and I get access to scheduling. My AR is 11%. Next to impossible to get to 50%, since all the garbage orders and very long distance orders get sent to me. I’m stuck at the bottom since almost all good orders go to other dashers. I still get access to early schedule at least.

You have ratings protection in that situation anyway.
I can’t, I won’t, waaa, waaaa, mommy the evil Door Dash , Blah , blah. If you hate it, stop doing it. Leave then orders for those who will
DoorDash is evil thats for sure. If only Dashers and Customers would both stop.
Theyre gonna have years of lawsuits!!
Most would consider PBH…but in reality that’s a joke. Odds are your not gonna stay busy enough to make it worthy enough to spend 6 hours dashing with their track record. And if you do…your gonna kill your mileage with nonstop distant orders.
Can you not do dash by time? Then you get paid at least minimum wage for your time.
But you don't get paid for waiting or driving in between
Yeah I also try not to accept trips that take me far away from the dash zone or from home. But DoorDash and Uber eats both need to pay drivers for the time they spend driving home
Agreed. The drive after you drop off the food should definitely be counted.
My area it’s $10/hr usually
That sucks $16.25 and peak pay is +$3hr. In my area between traffic, poorly managed restaurants etc it makes to do Earn by Time.
Is that minimum wage in your area?
My experience with dash by time: Great way to raise acceptance Mediocre pay “Bad Orders” still exist, they’re just the ones that take you way out of the zone

Is it the 7th? I received the email but no date?
How can you tell when it starts for your area
They send out a warning email

Stop driving for them maybe they will get the message if u ppl werent so desprate
damn these peasants and their needs for “food” and “shelter”!
There will always be someone new to take the order
💯 agreed I noticed this as well. The AR seems to go down faster than it does up. This makes it where you have to do like two deliveries to cancel out one decline. That would bring me down so hard. I was at 20% back in 2021. Offers popping up like every second so why but decline the low ones.
I've denied like 10000 orders lmao
Really don’t understand why ppl don’t do Uber eats way better than DD
Lol what? I've been tip-baited on UE like 3 times in the past couple months. Not to mention it has about 10% of the order volume as DD in my area.
When I make more on uber eats I know there is a problem.
I’ve done both and I make way less with UE, it’s not even worth it. Last few times I tried it I got a lot of orders consistently but in the end made $14 an hour before considering gas/maintenance expenses. With DoorDash I usually make around $25 an hour.
It's not really better, they don't have the rating standards, but their orders are equally shitty if not worse.
I would love to love UE.
UE isn't even an option where I'm at. Doordash is the only one. Well, and Instacart, but that's not the same thing...
They won't let me because I have an old car. Fuck them
You call UE support to notify them you only wish to do UberEats, not passengers. I did UE with a 1999.
Oh you think I haven't done that right? They told me that my insurance is incompatible with theirs I don't understand what the issue is but regardless I will not move forward on it and it's been this way for 2 years. Trust me it's been a frustration since they bought out Postmates
I love when UE recruiting team infiltrates the dasher groups
Not even like that bro. I did DD too. Not worth it just my opinion. I live in Charlotte nc. I guess my experience is different with Uber eats
i’m not eligible because of a minor ticket. they told me i can deliver on a scooter lmfao
UE has a lot of its own issues. In my area, they are so slow. I can be getting DD orders and not get one thing from UE. This is a pro tip. I had reinstalled the app and scheduling was jacked, I didn’t even think to check this.
Exactly right and that's why I consider Doordash to be the worst/most predatory of the bunch.
UberEats literally lets customers lie to you about what you'll get paid and they don't need a reason.
Well for now most people don't know about that. I suspect that will change lol
Here is the thing, AR is a rolling 100 deliveries stat. Here is how to get that stat up as fast as possible. Buy a bicycle, moped, scooter, or ebike. Where did you read that? I been knew that and thats not my point its about accessing the schedule and how people say doordash doesn’t force you, this proves they do.
You went on a rant about AR. Are you blind?
Again you cant read. My post is about showing people you are forced to take orders and i explained why. If you wanna argue go to another sub buddy
Unless they've removed the 'decline' button from your app, you're still making a choice to take shitty orders or not.
This the part you fail to realize. You can decline as much as you want but under this reward program. If you fall out of silver and do not have an rank. You cannot schedule anymore. You can probably grab small slots that open up on the day but not in advanced. This effectively limits the money you will make.

In a competitive market that's like arriving the day after black friday for the new game console.

Im far from dumb. But this sub isnt the place to brag about what i can do outside of delivering food. You are free to carry on somewhere else you nobody holding you hostage under my post.
I know you're far from dumb, that's literally what I said above 🤣🤡
The alternative is just scheduling a week out. Make sure you schedule at 3 PM.
Schedules don't release at 3pm for everyone. Some people's release at midnight.
Welp its 3pm and no timeslots available lol. Just the other day when i had 50 AR i could see the schedule. This is for the 7th day. So there is no beating DD, you either accepting bad offers to retain your AR or you not working much at all. But they indeed force you or lock you out
Wait until midnight and you will see time slots
Best thing that ever happened, gave me the little push I needed to stop being an idiot and spending all my free time running my car into the ground.
Yes you can you just can't schedule until midnight. My AR is 14% and we have the rewards here. I have no issues scheduling.
