How many of those would you need to collect enough tar to be able to smoke it? What about making tea? How many would you use for an opiate naive individual?

Smokable resin - you'd need many more than this and have certain chemicals to hand as well as a great deal of patience as you 'cure' the small amount of yield.
Tea - depending on strength and tolerance, if one had no tolerance then even one pod could be too much OR five pods might be needed. It's potentially dangerous to go ploughing blindly in as morphine content can vary wildly.
Last season I picked a single pod, scored it in four places, collected the milk on the edge of a knife - placed the tiny amount under my tongue - and it hit very hard. Whereas the tea from three fresh pods was mild.
Smoking is generally a waste but some do it for the challenge.
A pod hit you hard?! I’ve made tea with 25 large ish pods and felt okay for the day, constipated me to death but didn’t feel a lot to be fair. Maybe I’m Teflon coated against Opis? 🤦🏻♂️
Those aren’t the good ones but I’ll need to know exactly where they are so I can prevent young kids from stumbling on them in the future, please forward the coordinates and don’t go near them again
Saw these yesterday when at work. There's a good 50 pods in a 6' x 3' area of scrub near a wall. Most need another week to bloat and I'm seeing large clusters of PS everywhere - so I'm marking the areas on Google Maps, stating optimal collection times.
It's strange how once you know what you are looking for, you tune into their appearance and begin seeing them everywhere when in season.
I've been out in the works van for half an today and seen four different spots (one of them around twenty pods in a large public flower pot next to a bus stop).
These areas have a high number of drug users (heroin and crack) yet everybody seems ignorant to papaver somniferum. All areas have been starred on my Maps App and will be visited as and when.
None of my guerilla grows worked - think I should have scattered in November instead of March.
All the ones I find are in gardens so I have to hop into it. I just blended like 50 pods into water then filtered it. I really like opium. At first I was eating them like apples but it's not good on the gastrointestinal front. I have to just chop off the heads because they are in public and they don't bleed much when chopped.

I ate 5 last night not much effect, I blended 50 into 600ml and had like 100ml and that's nice and toasty.
You don’t need to “cure” anything. Once it’s dry you can smoke it.
Wait really? You just have to collect the milk and dry it out? That's all?

So true that I was getting frustrated, found one then went back next day and now I see em everywhere.

Its weird the heads are big but the flower is red.
They can be red, purple, pink, ruffled petals, peony like Pom Pom flowers.. those pods in the post are pSoms.

You could just put it all into a poppy tea and then evaporate all the water off and bam theirs your opium.
