š stumbled on this sub last week and seen nothing but poppies. Low and behold a load just ready in the wild garden. I've scored a few and they seeping, don't know if can be bothered going the whole distance with the production tho. Maybe next year when less going on at the house and can read up how to do it
You know about making tea with the pods right? Be a shame to waste all that potential tea. You can make a batch while they are still green. If you want some instructions just send me a chat request. Otherwise you can find all the instruction you need online. Definitely donāt toss them out after scoring them. That would be a waste.
This time of year this site is pretty much only poppies. Thatās because this is peak bloom time in the northern hemisphere. Similar thing happens in the fall for our Southern Hemisphere members. The rest of the year itās mainly weed and cactus. But I am noticing more khat and tropane alkaloid hearing plants too. Enjoy your harvest!
You scar the bulbs all the way around? Wait till day after and it's gone hard and scrape that off.. then boil that with lemon and then dry it.. what's left that's somewhat raw opium?
So how much "latex" are we talking for a dose, ballpark figure, if you scored and just ate it raw off the pod? I just found a few in my own garden that look promising, scored one and done a successful allergy test

You donāt even need to boil it. When I harvest my pods I eat the raw latex and get VERY VERY stoned. But I have a high tolerance and have been doing this 20 years. I donāt score any of my pods. I dry them, grind the entire plant, make a hot water extraction and use distillation to yield the raw opium. Eat donāt have to do anything else. Very simple and you donāt waste any that way. Scoring and scraping is a primitive method that people developed before they had access to all the technologies that make large scale harvesting possible.
I highly recommend you order Jim Hogshireās book Opium for the Masses. Has everything you need to know about growing, procuring and safety. He has lived an interesting life. Heās a folk hero up here in the Pacific Northwest. The feds came after him for writing his books and he beat them in court.
I have the text *The International Cultivators Handbook* by Lisle Drake in ebook format for Kindle. I also found a pdf copy of it in public domain in my local library. It has several techniques for harvesting the sap from the poppy bulbs and photos of some of the people who cultivate it in various areas practicing said techniques and some cool interesting interviews with some of the indigenous peoples who have done this for generations. Great text for anyone who has an interest in drug culture, regardless of whether they are a grower of anything or not.
Ofc I couldnāt copy the link or the text from the one from my local library, and the kindle version I know is stuck in that format. After not being able to share the public information I got for free, I got all angry and started to look for a free share-able copy (itās a JSTOR pdf file for academic research, sometimes those have a copyright license lock on the link to apparently discourage the sharing of the research section of property owned by *public and free* libraries, but thatās another rant for another sub). Thatās so annoying! Itās good info and I am livid that I finally found a public domain copyā¦ but I canāt copy it. Whatās the point in public domain, then?!? Very aggravating. But I did find a link with illustrations, very cool. Its a different edition than the Kindle version I have so the illustrations are new to me!
Hereās a copy of the link to the pdf I did find that I can share and it comes with a viewing app imbedded within it via the Library of Alexandriaās *Internet Archive* project:

Forgot what kind they planted too. See a lot of it on here. Hard to tell who has accidentally planted and who has accidentally found them. But they are nice all the same
The carnation poppies are active I kinda thought so I spread a bunch of seed pods last fall and some this spring only had two come up so far but the dogs have been digging up the gardens pissing me off I wanted a harvest this year
It will if you heat it to much. Long as you lightly evaporate off the water till gets to that sticky substance you can roll into a ball. If you try to do like a roiling boil or whatever it's called yeah you'll probably break down dome compounds into other substances. And you still might through lightly evaporating the water cause some compounds to break down just due to time and the little bit of heat but it'll be okay the amount that will break down won't be alot just don't let it really get to a boil at all you know. Just to where steam starts to come off the water keep it there and stir it or put a magnetic stir bar if have that machine. But you won't lose enough to cause a noticeable difference. Plus some of the compounds that might break down may break down and (usually do) into a compound your body can absorb quicker and easier
You can even just eat the raw pods. 4-5 and your feeling like MC 30. M30. Morphine sulfate contin coated 30 mg. Mind you won't get addicted this way, too much of an ordeal to consume for serious abuse.
>Mind you won't get addicted this way, too much of an ordeal to consume for serious abuse.
Absolutely not true at all. Speaking from experience. Once a day was enough for me, duration wise and trust me, no amount of effort is too much in the pursuit of a high.
The strain is called tallulah belle Bush or Pink Fizz they also grew in my Garden and had no effect of 25 pods. I picked way to early tho.
Idk if it's cuz I picked to early or it's just a low potency strain I didn't found any Info. May u can tell me if they worked for u?
Another way you can do it is by drying the pod's in a window then making tea with 2-3 pods at first definitely start slow tho you can learn how to use those pods safely with abt an hr of research you can totally use them this year go over to r/opiates and ask questions
Really well apparently š There were lots of plants in an overgrown garden when we moved in. More like jungle. We dozed everything up and got back to mud. A year later all these flowers popping up, we decided to leave a patch of them as looked pretty. This was that
Seeds will lay dormant for who knows how long. But when the conditions are right and you havenāt lost the bread tag twice in a row theyāll pop up. If you want to control kinda how many pop keep the seeds and plant yourself.
I agree with the guy that said boil the opium you collect with water and strain it to get rid of extra plant material (stems leaves waxes fats) and boil the water down till it gets nice and sticky and then collect it into a ball and can either try and heat it lightly to speed up getting more liquid out or just let it sit in the sun for a bit mixing it into its self every few days. That will basically create smokeable opium though it's smokeable after collection this creates a smoother more refined smoke and is how they made it in large quantities back when opium dens were around. You could try and get the chemicals needed to break it down and create purer product but one you'll lose a great deal. Usually when making heroin they only get about 10% weight from what they originally started with. Second most countries the chemicals are on a watch list or banned so hard to get. Especially AA which is needed to convert morphine base into heroin. I guess you could research krokidil and how it's made and maybe be able to make a cheap drug. Not sure they use codeine pills for that. That stuffs nasty though
I'm actually after the smokable opium like back in the dens, you've explained really well I think I understand thank you. Just wondering how long to boil for at start as someone said the heat will destroy the product?
Lucky bastard

There are some VERY simple ones that are basically just boil with a bit of lemon juice, strain, boil off the water
You scar the bulbs all the way around? Wait till day after and it's gone hard and scrape that off.. then boil that with lemon and then dry it.. what's left that's somewhat raw opium?
You can literally just eat the raw opium start slow
So how much "latex" are we talking for a dose, ballpark figure, if you scored and just ate it raw off the pod? I just found a few in my own garden that look promising, scored one and done a successful allergy test
Yeah basically, at least from what I've remembered reading. Obviously look up a recipe yourself but I think so
Ok I can manage that š¤

Thanks yeah I saw that book, I'll get it. If I cut the head off with 6" of stalk on and dry them and wait for the book will that save my progress?
So you hot water extract the plant and then distill the water extract? Or you distill the whole plant itself?
If you want to discuss the process feel feee to send me a chat request. Iāll tell you exactly how I do the distillation.

Thanks so much š
Keep the pressure light. You pierce that dermis with your blade, itās over. Good luck!
Ah ok you literally just want the skin scratching
Exactly. Too deep and it dries up on the spot.
Very nice!
āFoundā them
Forgot what kind they planted too. See a lot of it on here. Hard to tell who has accidentally planted and who has accidentally found them. But they are nice all the same
Those digitalis/foxglove are huge man, mine never get that tall
That whole patch seems to be thriving left to itself
Active
The carnation poppies are active I kinda thought so I spread a bunch of seed pods last fall and some this spring only had two come up so far but the dogs have been digging up the gardens pissing me off I wanted a harvest this year

papaver paeoniflorum?
Was going to say peony poppy, and I thought not active or if it is its at a low content.
Thank you

Those are beautiful you ought to just collect seed and grow those suckers, the poison ain't worth a shit.
One man's poison is another man's potion.
Very true

I won't be using them this year I don't know how to do it, maybe next year I'll give it a crack. Thanks for the input tho
Well u just grind the poppy heads up and make a tea of them. Slowly upping ur numbers ur supposed to start of with 3-5heads
Another way you can do it is by drying the pod's in a window then making tea with 2-3 pods at first definitely start slow tho you can learn how to use those pods safely with abt an hr of research you can totally use them this year go over to r/opiates and ask questions
Yea lmao
how does it grow by itself ??

I was thinking this. May e next yeah the whole garden š
Poppies and salvias are generally easy to grow. Depends on climate but thereās not much to it
Yes , you āfound them in your gardenā
More like "they found you", š
Yes
Thatās the stuff
And gorgeous
How can you all tell that these are the right ones?
Yup 110%.
