The 9ers made it to the NFC Championship with their 3rd string QB, who played great and is very young. The coaching staff did an incredible job and you added one of the most exciting players in the NFL (McCaffrey). You still have a young toolsy 1st round pick QB to look forward to too. You have to be toxic and broken as fuck to not view this as an amazing and successful season.

LossyP

Can’t help but wish you were on the field Sunday with a username like that lol. In all seriousness, I appreciate that! The ship started sinking week 2, and I can’t believe Kyle & Co. kept it afloat all the way to the NFC Championship game. That’s impressive shit, even if I am biased. They’ll be back. depending on Brock’s injury, I think it’s a good problem to have with 2 young QBs battling it out next season

[deleted]

You got to watch a team with a great story for months.

LossyP

I went 10 weeks without washing my CMC jersey, I think everyone around me was happy with this L 😂

MaxeytoEmbiid

Like Big Play Slay said, CMC is a legend and even in that one TD, I saw why he strikes fear. Honestly, he's just as important as the QB'S. I know he had the calf, because if he were healthy and what I would've done is given him 20 rushes on that day. Easily would've picked up over 150 yards. Beast RB. As long as yall retool around him, you'll be a threat.

LeadingAd6025

Not taking anything from CMC career or talent but TD was all down to Epps and Slay.

fishyfish55

I heard a rumor that the niners aren't trying for Brady, but might be shooting for Rodgers. Imagine him as your QB!!!

LossyP

Man I hope not with that salary lol gotta pay Bosa & Aiyuk, but if he worked out a team-friendly deal, you wouldn’t hear me complain

noldyp

49ers had the easiest schedule in the NFL. I think the winning percentage of teams played against was .419 or something low like that. Any team can go to the Championship if that’s all they gotta beat. ‘Kyle and Co’ sux. Your team was not a challenge and we would have beat you with any QB of your choosing.

LossyP

Man even when I give you props you aren’t satisfied 😂

EricPetro

Sorry bout him, it’s a Philly thing 😂

moesus81

Might be a valid point (not really) if Philly’s schedule wasn’t almost as weak. That’s on top of playing 5 games against teams that overachieved and weren’t nearly as good as their records. The real test will be next year with the hardest projected schedule and I’m sure that opening night will be a rematch of the SB, since they just happen to be playing next year. What do you want SF to do at QB? If Brock needs Tommy John, that changes your situation considerably.

LossyP

Man, I have no idea what’s gonna happen at QB. Personally speaking I think Brock did enough to secure him a legitimate contender for QB1. The locker room really seemed to rally around him more than Lance. I like Lance, and his ceiling + potential is sky high, but he’s already on his 3rd year, not even a full season under his belt. Ideally one of them comes back and lights the league on fire. I just hope they both come back 100% healthy. If Lance doesn’t show much improvement tho, I’d love for Brady to come in. I know it sounds crazy, a team with 4 QB injuries to rely on a 46 year old man, but it’s not the worst thing to happen to this team.

LossyP

I should add, I’d only want Brady coming in if Brock needs Tommy John

LeadingAd6025

Brady to Niners confirmed

CaesarXV

Great season, your defense is the real deal. Charvarius Ward in particular really stepped up, I think he heard all the talk that we wanted to test y'all deep and he rose to the occasion. Here's to a better health situation next season. Quick question however: with it being reported Purdy's out about 6 months what do you think the plan at QB is now?

LossyP

Thanks, dude! I’ll be honest, Ward showing up like that really shocked me too. Not that I doubted him, but our secondary has been hot & cold towards the end of the season. I personally think Kyle sticks with Trey & hopes for the best. He’s an offensive genius but he’s also pretty stubborn. If Brock ends up needing TJ surgery, maybe they’ll consider a vet like Brady. A Rod would be way too expensive and this team still has to sign guys like Bosa, Aiyuk, and some other FAs leaving this season. With the exception of CMC, lynch isn’t too crazy in signing big names so we’ll see what happens. I just want the best guy available at QB, and personally hope it’s Brock

mojoembiid

Yall need a better o-line

LossyP

No lies detected

HI_Handbasket

The 49ers secondary was supposed to be their weak link, but even when Hurts had all day, he had trouble finding someone open. Of course there was that one drive where they called 3 or 4 holding penalties against them, maybe that's how they did it, but just didn't get caught. But 148 yards on the ground was a statement itself.

LossyP

I already know this will get downvoted like crazy, but I think it was combination of genius play calling from Siriani, and our defense being exhausted from being on the field the majority of the game. Not sayin your ground game isn’t legit, I’m a Sanders truther, but with literally no QB, it had to be hard on the defense constantly going up against a run game that good

propof0l

This is after having played two playoff games already while the Eagles were coming off an easy win over the Giants where we got to rest our starters in the 4th quarter

DrJawn

Get an OL and you're in business. See you guys next year

LossyP

Don’t get me started, every draft I die a little inside when Kyle doesn’t draft a lineman lmao

SoCalThrowAway7

My wife is a niner fan and she regularly says “what is even the point of mclinchey?” (idk if I spelled that right)

LossyP

McGlinchey is a wildcard. I like the dude as a fan of the team, but he’s put the niners in a lot of shitty positions this season, and in the past. I wouldn’t call him a bust, but if we move on I won’t lose any sleep

creightonduke84

Don’t pull a Raegor and keep trash on the field because you drafted him high

[deleted]

The team has drafted something like 4 OL in rounds 1-3 dating back to 2011.

AnalogDogg

Eyy, cheers for beating dallas!

LossyP

🤝

DaleLeatherwood

During the McNabb/Reid era, it seemed like the Eagles lost the NFC championship every year... It was frustrating beyond belief. I completely feel for the 49ers. The narrative around the team was exciting (Purdy, the boy wonder). There is a sense the window is closing (DeMeco Ryan's moving on). I think I would be angry too and looking to vent. But such is life. The 49ers are so close, they just need a few more things to fall into place. I kind of hope this is a new rivalry. I have a feeling we will play each other next post season. Thanks for beating the Cowboys. Love to see it.

LossyP

You nailed it with that comparison. Even like the Harbaugh years for us too. This one didn’t hurt as much, considering we’ve lost NFCC games to the Cowboys, Rams, and Seahawks before in worse fashion. I had 2 quarters to accept the season was over. I hope it spawns a new rivalry too, I had fun talking shit to some of my buddies all week I normally don’t. Also what’s the general consensus on playing Reid in the Super Bowl? Is there still love for him?

[deleted]

We still love The Walrus & we are going to really.love beating him.

grumpifrog

I was thinking this exactly. Shanahan is very similar to a younger Andy Reid. A lot of the same kind of issues are there. The best thing that happened to Andy was a change of scenery. (Turns out it helped the Birds, too, albeit slower) It could end up being the same for Kyle and the Niners

LossyP

I hope you’re wrong, but a lot of fans are already getting frustrated. I will say: after a while, repeated freak injuries to QBs stop being “freak injuries” when they’re so common.

ciampi21

To your point, I wouldn't consider Purdy's injury a freak injury. He didn't step on a sprinkler head or get hit by a falling camera. He got smashed by a DPOY candidate because the blocking scheme was awful! Some of that is absolutely on the coaches.

ExileOnBroadStreet

The exact injury is quite rare, but it’s not surprising at all he got injured on that hit. Reddick was flying around the edge almost unblocked and Purdy didn’t see him at all somehow. Could have just as easily been a sprained shoulder, a concussion, cracked rib etc Purdy would have been sacked 6-8+ times if he made it through the game

PreciousRoy78

Equally tired of our own fan base whining about your fan base here.

Guitaristb72

Yes, the 9ers are out of the playoffs, Its time we start acting like it.

LossyP

I love the 49ers but this fanbase can get annoying, fast lol I don’t blame you guys. Some of the takes I’ve seen on Twitter are wild

AndrewHainesArt

Almost everyone is delusional to a degree and no one has to be, but it is more fun

MisterrAlex

Every fanbase has its idiots, even our own at times. End of the day ignore all the loud idiots cause they cause nothing but stress.

DogmaLovesKarma

it's cool to run into fans like you that know and love the game even with the passion we each have for our teams. Stupid hot takes will always be plentiful because they generate reaction and clicks - but I love finding smart people in the comments on both sides of the ball. Will be really interesting to see how Lynch tools up in the offseason - I expect we'll be seeing each other again next season. Peace.

LossyP

I hope so! The Linc isn’t too far from where I live so I’ll take whatever chance I can get to see the Niners play. Appreciate the kind words my man, for what it’s worth I think the Eagles beat KC pretty easily

Beahner

You don’t have to tell us about annoying fanbases….lmao. Most of us get it.

sammythemc

Nah I get it. Injuries are a part of the game and you have to mitigate them as best you can when you're building your lineup, but it's still always frustrating when you feel like your team didn't get the chance to put their best foot forward. There's a line obviously, you don't take it out on anyone who doesn't deserve it and try to remain objective about the game, but if the Eagles put together the season they did and were confronted with the decision to send an injured Gardiner Minshew or Boston Scott in at QB in the NFC Championship, we'd be upset too.

SoCalThrowAway7

I saw a guy here posting that we destroyed your defense and completely shut down Nick bosa like both weren’t trouble for our offense all game. All fanbases are capable of their own delusions I guess haha. If that defense stays as strong you guys are in for another good season imo.

LossyP

My favorite thing about the Bosa hate is that everyone, even the people who don’t like him, expect him to get sacks every game. That’s a compliment whether they know it or not lol appreciate the kind words, man!

SigaVa

The eagles dominated on both lines of scrimmage.

SoCalThrowAway7

Yep but we couldn’t really get a pass game going because their secondary played well and Nick bosa was shut out of anything but sacks, he was disruptive a lot on defense blowing up multiple screen plays and runs, tackling for a loss. A lot of our drives that scored were extended by the niners committing penalties being undisciplined after pretty much stopping the drive. Edit: lol he blocked me? Damn that’s pretty soft behavior

SigaVa

Lol, "we". Gtfo with your terrible homerism. The 49ers and your boy bosa got embarrassed. I hope he enjoys his dpoy award from his couch after recording 0 qb hits in a 24 point blowout loss. Keep making excuses for bosa, he needs the help.

SoCalThrowAway7

Idk what you mean by homerism, do you think I’m a niner fan because that’s way off lol, born and raised eagles fan. My mom brought me home in a eagles onesie and I brought my own kid home in one, he’s 3 and sings fly eagles fly with me after every touchdown, super cute. My grandma smuggled a picture of Donovan and her bad call brick into her hospital room when she was going through chemo so we could all watch there together. She raised my mom’s whole family to be eagles fans. I spent all the money I had at the time to go watch them win a Super Bowl. Nick bosa is not my boy I’m just not an idiot.

SigaVa

Just like the bosas ill be watching the sb on tv. Have a good one!

sammythemc

Everything that guy said was true though. We don't have to pretend Bosa shit the bed, he's a good player and he had a solid game. Eagles were just better

mister_pringle

Annoying doesn't begin to describe it. Softest saddest "fans" in the league.

EdwardRoivas

THIS IS PRECIOUS ROY! AAND THE PEOPLE AT THE BANK CALL ME MARTY!

PreciousRoy78

Buy my bird feeders!

drunkcowofdeath

You don't see many Sifl and Olly references these days.

semsr

I think we were all excited for the Niners fans to be as mad as the Vikings fans were, and now we’re a little disappointed that it didn’t really happen lol

LossyP

I’ve seen 6 Super Bowl caliber teams miss a Lombardi, this is the life of a Niners fan lmao I’ll be fine

Coach_Carter_on_DVD

49er fans have asshole crybabies, Eagle fans have asshole crybabies.. almost like there’s asshole crybabies in all walks of life and it’s not specific to any team’s fanbase

RogueFart

I'm just tired of our fan base whining about no one liking us, while simultaneously harping on the "we don't care". Y'all care, and you don't make it hard to see

PreciousRoy78

Yep, beginning to wish Jason Kelce had not said that because too many idiots have completely twisted the meaning of it.

TwoForHawat

“Can you believe how whiny the Niners fans are, complaining about missed calls and claiming the game would’ve been way closer if certain guys weren’t injured???” laugh the Eagles fans who will absolutely whine about refs and point out injuries the next time the Eagles lose a game.

mister_pringle

They've been literally everywhere. And with what seems like 80% of the NFL fan base on board with their whiny shit. Maybe if I can go a day and not read about how "tough" they had it, I'll move on but right now, it's cockroach season.

PackIll3037

I’m equally tired of people whining about people whining.

vaguelymemaybe

Protect George Kittle at all costs.

LossyP

LossyP

Jersey actually lol and I have no idea what was going on. When he gets risky & it doesn’t work, we seem to pay for it in the worst ways

CommunicationTime265

Good on you for posting. Eagles deserve to be in the SB, as did the Niners until that game happened.

LossyP

Appreciate that, dude. I know a lot of Bird fans in real life and couldn’t be happier for them. Y’all get a bad rap but even on Reddit I’m being met with mostly positive interactions

flava72

I’m glad we get the NFC West too because it creates a rematch of SF in the Linc again. Also get an SB rematch with the Chiefs. Also play the Bills, Vikings, Seahawks, Rams, Dolphins, Bucs and the NFC East so our schedule should not be constantly questioned. See you next year.

LossyP

Looking forward to it! I may finally go to a game at the Linc, should only be more fun after last week

BirdKevin

All good bro, the internet is insufferable and we are all worse from it. At the end of the day we are all just passionate about our teams and in real life thats something to bond over. I've certainly talked some shit but its all in good fun and I don't think Philly humor always translated to the written medium. As a fan of the sport I wish it was more competitive for sure but making it to the championship game is amazing even though Brady has ruined everyones expectations for winning. Better luck next year!

LossyP

Couldn’t have said it better myself. Even some Niner fans make this team their entire personality. It’s just football at the end of the day. Somebody has to win & the rest are forced to move on. I grew up around Eagles fans my entire life so I’m used to the vitriol

justdaman182

Respect and your defense was easily the best defense we went against this year. It's not even close. I'm really looking forward to the rematch with both teams at full health!

LossyP

Hell yeah, same! Thank you

Susbirder

Nice post. If you want to catch a game at the Linc, next season, you'd definitely be cool with my crowd. I'm still amused at the talking points, as tiring as they are. As much as I hear the "not a catch" and "we didn't have a QB" things, the fact remains that the Eagles dropped 31 on the ground against what was touted as the best against the run (at the time).

LossyP

It’s not like Brock was hurt walking into the Linc. He got hurt in a football game, it sucks but it is what it is. Also I appreciate that! The Linc is the only one in Philly I’ve yet to tailgate

Hodor_4_President

Kyle Shanahan is the most overrated coach in the NFL. Niners won’t win anything with him as your head coach. He is the reason your QB’s keep getting hurt. What is it 7 in the last 3 years? His system is dated. You cannot have play action passes with a TE blocking a defensive player of the year caliber player. He will continue to make boneheaded in game decisions like the one the Devonta smith no challenge because he is to focused on play calling. That loss falls squarely on Kyle’s shoulders.

LossyP

We all have our opinions. I’ll be honest I liked this offense more when we had McDaniel as OC. Kyle gets in his head too much sometimes. Even Juice has said they’ll convince him to be more aggressive

ScottEATF

It felt as if he got too cute and had no moderating influence on his coaching staff. You have so many versatile players that allow him to come up with some many different plays and formations but at some point you have still consider fundamental elements. Like who is blocking the opponents best pass rusher on passing plays? And that does doubly when you are thin at QB. And then later in 3rd and early in the 4th when it's clear Purdy can not really throw and that the only way to move the ball is basically 4 down territory runs, it seemed like he was calling plays as if he had the lead and was wearing down the clock? 30 seconds between plays, it was so odd. Yes, chances of coming back were next to none, but not hurrying up meant they were litterally 0.

DickTreeFactory

Could not agree more.

vito1221

Yeah, I have to agree some here. How about some extra protection when you're down to your 3rd string QB? Give up a little something to keep him healthy.

thewealthmattress

Yeah you’re tripping. Shanahan is a great coach, 3 NFC champ apps in the last 4 years. 1 Super Bowl app, with their best QB being Jimmy G. Pretty damn good If you ask me. You’re lost.

Phillyspecial6969

Kyle is an offensive-minded guy. Their defense is why they’ve made deep playoff runs. I think, a la Kliff Kingsbury, that the niners have had a lot of their success in spite of Shanahan instead of because of him. There’s a reason Saleh got a HC gig and his replacement Ryans is also leaving. He’s been getting bailed out by his DCs for years now.

thewealthmattress

Shanahan also hired those coordinators. Part of being a head coach is this, getting the group to play for you and so much more goes into it. It’s a lot more than just offensive scheming. I would say he’s a great coach and whatever he does seems to work. Turned Matt Ryan into an MVP, also turned RG3 into offensive rookie of the year. Neither of these guys were as good as they were the years shanahan was there. His offense is as QB friendly as it gets. I’m not gonna sit here and act like he’s a hall of famer or anything but to say they lost because of him is ridiculous, they were on their 3rd and 4th string QB. They were never beating us in Philly with either of them.

Hodor_4_President

I really think his system is antiquated. I used to love the zone run heavy play action offense. IT DOES NOT WORK IN THE MODERN NFL. you are asking you QB to turn his back on the defense flip his hips re-read the defense and take a shot. I think PFF ranked them top 10 this year in O-line play but 4 QB’s got hurt this year. That’s because Kyle is asking his QB’s to take forever to throw. Come on my guy. That’s just his antiquated system. He is to focused on play calling and fucks up routine in game decisions every week. He has been bailed out because the Niners have good teams.

EManSantaFe

On the cusp of another Superbowl for my Eagles - the third in my lifetime - I’ve come to believe that this is the strongest of team of the three. When a friend tried to shut me down on the SF game I informed him that Reddick was going to have his way with the rookie QB I had no idea how right I’d be. And when the Eagles open as 1.5 favorites over KC, and Mahomes, and Reid, and the OTHER Kelce, well I just have to smile. Nobody likes us and we don’t care. Fly Eagles, fly.

LossyP

The only team I thought could beat Philly, lost. Eagles win the SB I think

[deleted]

[удалено]

LossyP

Same here, man. Those game-day threads are toxic lol

[deleted]

I get why Niners fans are pissed. It's a shitty way to lose. It's just a lot of the fans take it out on our fans and city bitching and moaning about what is out of our control. Nice post and your team will be good for a while.

LossyP

Thanks man, let’s hope this is the start of a fun rivalry

flyersphillies

I think people need to realize that at the end of the day we’re all just people that enjoy the same form of entertainment. Whatever team you choose to root for doesn’t define you as a person. There is so much more to people than teams they have zero control over. Honestly, I judge people who make judgments about someone because of the teams they like. My fiancé and his entire family are all Penguins fans and I love them all to death. I have close friends that are Pens fans too. I would be missing so many important people in my life if I chose to shut them out or denigrate them over a freakin hockey team.

LossyP

I appreciate your info more than you know, thank you. I have a family full of Cowboys, Giants and Niners fans. We all text each other and talk shit and I wouldn’t have it any other way. It’s fun until people take it too far. We all want the same thing in the end

flyersphillies

Exactly! We definitely have fun talking shit to each other, but we never say anything with the intention of hurting the other person. I think if you get to the point where you feel the need to lash out at someone because of a sport (or any other entertainment) you probably need to take a step back and recognize that it’s not that deep. Also, for every one fan you see being an asshole online there are hundreds, maybe even thousands, of other fans that would never stand by that asshole’s words. Yet, people will use that asshole’s words to judge an entire fan base. Just because we like the same thing it doesn’t mean we’re all the same.

explosivelydehiscent

Looking at the NFC now, I don't see it being any other way next year for the NFC champ game. Every other team is getting older, more mediocre or both. The cowboys can go under a rock for the next 30 years again. That playoff win was their super bowl.

LossyP

The only other NFC team that worries me is Seattle. Pete Carroll has some black magic cooking up there

OffalSmorgasbord

Injuries suck; we were at the top of the league in regard to injuries for years. The FO ditched the Kelly smoothies and bedtimes, finding that reducing practice during the week does absolute wonders for player health. It's been a frequently discussed topic this year.

LossyP

I remember those days, too. I believe it was Jeff Wilson who said he noticed a huge difference in the way Miami practiced when he was traded, which prevented injuries. I’m no expert but at this point I think something with the way Kyle and his guys coach is to blame. Not entirely his fault, but they fired their entire strength & conditioning staff and things somehow are worse

specialgravity

These posts as so weird

[deleted]

[удалено]

LossyP

Really appreciate that! I was confused with all the trash talk last week as well, it was like a Seahawks game. There’s never been a reason for our fanbases to dislike eachother. Sure, now I can see a reason, but I don’t see anybody talking shit to Broncos fans for taking out Trey. It’s just a game, and I’ve been a football fan my entire life. It’s a silly thing to take personally

Raptor52

Happy to see you here, and thank you for the kind words. I think you hit the nail on the head, and it's a shame it turned into an ugly game of football. Big props to you guys though. Although Eagles fans will be the last to recognize the legitimacy of Big Cock Brock, seeing as we heralded Big Dick Nick, it really was awesome to see him come and ball out as a third stringer. He had some of that hungry dog in him, and I hope he continues to improve. Hopefully next season yields a good rematch on better footing. Competition will always bring out the win-at-any-cost side of the fans, but I'd be lying if I said I didn't want to see the Eagles, the 9ers, or any other team other than Dallas in a game like the 2018 Rams vs Chiefs Much love bro. Thanks for coming by.

LossyP

Appreciate that! Thank for showing me some respect as well. I was convinced this game would be the best NFL fans have seen in a long time, but things rarely go as predicted in this sport. Thankfully both the Eagles & Niners have some talented young guys on their team and I hope it becomes a rivalry for years to come

notaredditer13

Same time next year?

LossyP

Shit I hope so. Fun fact: every team to beat the 49ers in the playoffs since 2011 have won the Super Bowl

Cactus2711

Great sportsmanship man. What do you think the chances are of the 49ers going after Brady in free agency? You guys are completely stacked and he could well be the final piece

LossyP

Really appreciate that. I can only speak for myself, but I say they ride with Trey and let him get that experience if Purdy is still injured. If they’re both healthy, let them battle it out for QB1. I’m not against Brady tho, especially if Trey doesn’t show much improvement

[deleted]

Appreciate you

LossyP

Feelings mutual 🤝

ComfortablyNumb0520

Bravo. As an Eagles fan who lives in the SF bay area, I was rooting for the Niners all season and especially to crush the Cowboys last week, but I was nervous about the Niners/Eagles NFC championship game because I know how good the Niners are and I respect them. Against the Eagles, the Niners had too many (injured) QBs and too many penalties, and then they lost all composure at the end (and were uncharacteristically frustrated, chirpy, and classless in starting fights). McCaffrey had some limited success, Kittle couldn’t do much without a QB who could throw to him, and I don’t think Bosa was much of a factor at all. I thought that if Brock Purdy had started the 2nd half the Niners were still dangerous but he was apparently too hurt so it was all over. The Niners are set up for success next year.

Cstrrider

I think most reasonable fans can see that it was a sucky situation, but that happens in football, Carson Wentz went down in 2020 during the playoff game against Seattle and Josh McCown played the rest of the game through a sprained ankle. It sucks, we have been there... I think both teams are built well for future success and we may be on the flip side of things next year!

Lar5031

Wasn’t a sprained ankle. He literally tore his hamstring off the bone.

LossyP

It’s seasons like this that make winning it all that much more enjoyable. Best of luck against KC!

Habreno

Go fuck yourself, get healthy, and I look forward to seeing you guys being healthy, because yalls are damn fuckin scary. :P There's a strong chance you guys are gonna be in the NFCCG next year if not beyond. I'm glad we won, I think we had a good chance to win even without the injuries, but I can't say that I had any strong confidence going into the game. Good luck, get healthy, and not looking forward to playing against yalls next year, because its gonna be a scary game.

LossyP

I love this energy right here. Thank you! Same to the Eagles, wish it could’ve gone down differently but hopefully there’s plenty more in the future. The Eagles are by far the most intimidating team in the NFC besides the Niners IMO. Go make that L sting less and win it all

Moltar_of_Moltor

Brother, this is the way to do it. Things do happen in sports. The fact that Purdy got injured with a torn UCL in his throwing arm was just a freak thing. I would have loved to see the game play out with both QBs healthy. The important thing is that he gets better soon, just from a life standpoint. What’s equally important is it was just a game. Life is far more important and dwelling on the results of a football game is kinda rough. The Niners look to be good for years to come, so let’s all enjoy our Niners and Eagles, enjoy the Super Bowl, and hope the AFC loses… lol. Thanks for the kind words and hope to face off again!

LossyP

Really appreciate this take and thanks for the welcoming words! What happened to Purdy sucks. It still blows my mind 4/4 of our QBs were injured this season, 3 of which were freak accidents, and to our most important ones. For Purdy’s sake I hope to see him on the field again, preferably in a Niners uniform. I also agree life is way bigger than just football. I thought the Hamlin situation would be a reminder to us all, but fans all over the league moved on from that mindset pretty quickly lol. Goodluck in the SB, celebrate hard you deserve it. Looking forward to a potential new rivalry for years to come!

EaglesFan027

Congrats on a great season to your Niners. I’m happy for DeMeco Ryans but I’m sure you’ll miss him in SF. We’ll see you next season!

LossyP

I’m more happy for Demeco than I am upset he left. Seeing Saleh leave made me question how good the D would be without him, and Demeco stepped up. I’m hoping we can snag Fangio and continue to our the focus on QB & Offense

WeaponexT

Respect man. That's a hard way to go down after the shit you've endured this season. No ill will here. Look forward to seeing your path forward next season. You had a hell of a run. And your team should be right back next year.

LossyP

I really hope, man! Appreciate the respect and kindness

You are OFFICIALLY INDOCTRINATED IN EAGLES NATION. Congratulations on your appointment to this exclusive club. There are a few requirements to proceed. 1. Always talk shit on Dallas. 2. Bring beer to the tailgate, we have the food. 3. Never walk into the Linc without a blood alcohol level below. .02 Again, we appreciate your application to our club May you live long and prosper.

Btw, i may been imbibing while i wrote this.

Hahaha appreciate that, man! I’m a South Jersey guy so I got nothing but love for Philly. I’m hoping to go to the Linc next year for the game. I had a blast tailgating at a Phillies game a few years back, love Wells Fargo Arena, and have never been to Xfinity sober. Philly knows how to party

Sucks to suck, maybe next year! Go Birds! 🦅🦅

[deleted]

The Classic post from the opposing fan lol

LossyP

We get them all the time, too lol. Figured I’d pay it forward

igotsthepoo-onme

I hope this gets downvoted to oblivion I hate these posts

Mogilny89Leafs

Agreed. These posts are so cringe.

IOnlyUpvoteSelfPosts

Yeah these “I come here in peace” posts are cringe.

LossyP

It’s not lookin good so far

igotsthepoo-onme

Fuck you and the niners

LossyP

Must be a miserable existence taking football and Reddit so personally

igotsthepoo-onme

It’s great actually try having fun for once

LossyP

It’s just a game, man 😂

TheShadyRyder

I'm gonna be honest , and it's pretty controversial I guess. I didn't like winning like that . Yeah I'll take the win but I really wanted us to go against Purdy and earn it.

LossyP

I really appreciate your honesty, man. I think we were all robbed of a great game. Not saying the Niners would’ve won, but it would’ve been a lot more competitive. Good thing we’re guaranteed a rematch in the regular season

DoubleSealedSoul

Good shit

[deleted]

"Injuries happen in football, it's part of the game" feels like an attempted excuse for losing It was already over after the first 15 minutes of the 1st quarter before Purdy even went down. 9ers were never coming in to Philadelphia with a 3rd 4th or 5th string and winning that game.

LossyP

Did you bother to read any of my other comments, or just saw an opportunity to boast after a win? I called Reddick underrated in the same post, and me saying injuries happen is giving you guys props as opposed to calling it a “dirty play” or invalidating your W. It’s quite literally me taking away the tired excuse I keep seeing other Niner fans give about this game.

[deleted]

Read the whole thing

mister_pringle

That's great. Now go get your shine box, whiner.

Ambitious_wonderer

We would’ve beat that ass even if you had a plethora of QB’s. Niners are fraudulent

LossyP

Hard to call them frauds when they’ve been in the NFC Championship Game 3 times in the last 4 years but go off.

Ambitious_wonderer

31-7 = frauds

LossyP

No shit, I called the Eagles the better team lmao try and keep up next time

Jroompa

🤝

Competitive_Flight41

God I hope I’m never soft enough to make one of these posts.

LossyP

Only soft enough to comment something like this

hoodleft

bro you're STILL thinking about that game? that shit was a lifetime ago. move on man were on to bigger and better things. the team and the fans have completely forgotten about it. just like the day after we get this super bowl dub, the eagles are going to be on to thinking about how to win next years. we arent like the cowboys or 49ers (and DEFINITELY not like their fans) who lean on their past success for decades.

LossyP

Listen man, I survived Chip Kelly just like you 😂 All jokes aside, I come here in peace as a football fan. I don’t see anything wrong with it but if it’s an issue the mods can take me off. Just trying to show some love and give credit where it’s due

Wannalaunch

Eagles and 49ers have shared a lot of staff/players. I thought it was funny we have both suffered through Chip and that’s unique to our franchises and fandoms.

allmimsyburogrove

Nice post. For future reference, use "you guys or "you's guys" instead of "y'all" It doesn't fly (Eagles fly) here.

LossyP

You’s, wooder, Iggles, Jawn, and Delco isn’t Philly. I think I covered it all

Dankofamericaaa2

Yeah our Dline is the best is in the league! As much as I hate injuries 2 qb’s got hurt for a reason. That reason being our Dline leads the leagues in sacks and took him out the game! It’s not like it was just some freak injury. Reddick is slept on for DPOY. Everyone says eagles schedule was easy when we were 9-1 against above 500 teams. On paper before the season it was the easiest but as far as how the teams played it wasn’t.

LossyP

Your defense is severely slept on. Obviously half the game there was literally no QB, but that’s for a reason lol. Props to that defense, I think they give KC some serious headaches

furbishL

I hope that Purdy heals ok and has a chance to compete for QB1 next year. He had a great run and it was a shame we didn’t get to see the 9ers at full strength. Jury is still out on Lance and I don’t think Garrapolo is a long term solution.

LossyP

The QB situation is interesting to say the least. I’m not sure what happens, I just hope somebody can be healthy enough to keep us in it

NotJustSomeMate

Thank you mate...while I am glad we won I regret Purdy getting injured the way he did...I was honestly anticipating him just either getting sacked a lot or running for his life the entire game just to show our dominance against a fairly complete but very competent team... I look forward to more healthier games against you 49ers in the future...but with the se outcome score wise haha...you guys had a great year regardless though and your fam sportsmanship is greatly appreciated...

LossyP

Really appreciate the kind words! I love discourse between fans of the game, even if we don’t agree in everything or root for opposing teams

NotJustSomeMate

Their is absolutely nothing wrong with friendly banter...I just hate when it escalates or people start taking things personal...that is where I draw the line personally...

LossyP

Idk about Eagles fans, but it happens on 49ers Twitter all the time 😂 I didn’t know what to expect posting here but you guys have shown me nothing but respect, we all want the same thing at the end of the day

Silent-Recipe-3600

Finally a Niners fan I can respect lol. Appreciate the love man, it’s football and sometimes the ball doesn’t roll our way. Us as Eagles fans know plenty about that. Niners fans still have a lot to look forward to. Hopefully the QB situation is finally resolved by the start of next season, and the injury plague is gone, you can most definitely be contenders for the chip.

LossyP

That word “Chip” still gives me PTSD, I think you guys can agree lol no but for real I appreciate the kind words. It’s just a game at the end of the day, some NFL fans pick sides with a gang mentality and it gets toxic pretty quick. Looking forward to a healthy matchup with both teams next year!

JimC0322

Thanks dude. Appreciate the perspective. Any Eagles fan who's being honest has to admit to some apprehension before the game. You guys had a great season, and a great team. I would far rather have won a straight up healthy 11 on 11. In all honesty, towards the end it just wasn't fun to watch, and I honestly felt bad for the players on the sidelines. I wish the brawl hadn't happened and the game had not gotten so chippy, but I understand a high degree of frustration. Again I appreciate the perspective, and look forward to a friendly rivalry continuing next year and for years to come. We can save up so much hate for the Cowboys and Giants, why waste it on another team?

LossyP

I think I can speak for everybody on this sub when I say fuck the Giants lmao

VanceXentan

Props for calling out the super salty fans.

LossyP

They exist everywhere unfortunately

EManSantaFe

Reddick > Bosa

Joe30174

I want to hear it. I want to hear you say you still would have lost if Purdy was healthy the whole game. No, I'm jk. Your defense and McCaffrey showed up. They just played sloppy with too many penalties. After watching how our offense struggled and got lucky breaks off of penalties to save drives, I think the score would be a lot closer if there were to be a rematch.

LossyP

Thanks for your honesty, man. If I said it, it wouldn’t be met with much positivity 😂 looking forward to next year

LJski

Look....every team that made it to round of 8 are good teams. A bit of luck goes either way....injuries are a way of life, and when they happen is unpredictable. I wasn't sure (still am not) if Purdy is the real-deal, or if he is a flash in the pan. It would be a great story if he really is one of the new young QBs that we'll be watching for years to come...and I really hope that he comes back from the injury. I can't imagine the feeling if he can't, and we'll all be wondering "what if....".

LossyP

That would absolutely suck if he doesn’t come back the same. I loved the whole Purdy madness that came with this season. Here’s to a healthy rematch and hopefully a new rivalry!

samsanit

You guys were my biggest fear coming into the playoffs. I’m sorry the game went down the way it did, as injuries never make for a fun win/loss. That being said your roster is stacked and in certain you’ll be watching playoff runs for the next couple of years! Keep ur head up king 👑

LossyP

I hope so! I appreciate the kindness and honesty

gcsobaer

Gave an upvote but wanted to express that you are the kind of 49ers fan I can vibe with! I live in Cowboys/Texans (lolol) territory down south, as an Eagles fan. About 1/3 of the Cowboys fans are intolerable. I go out drinking and chill with a few, and we can have honest conversations without being assholes about each others games, and give props where they are due. It's been said here a few times now, but I absolutely acknowledge your QB3 getting you to the championship game. Bosa is a beast. Your Def. put up a helluva fight. That said I still think we had the edge. I would have LOVED to have had the bad-ass NFCCG that we all expected. A CLEAN game without all of the BS, and injuries. I still feel deep down that we had it, but it would have been far more entertaining. My GF's best friend is a 49ers fan, and she invited them to our SB party.. I really hope they are in your mindset, and not the 94% of delusional fans that are trying to point the blame elsewhere. Mad respect my friend, hopefully next season is just as good!

LossyP

I hope they’re cool for your sake too 😂 I can’t imagine living down there as an Eagles fan lol. I appreciate the kind words dude and I hope your party is a blast! Eagles win the SB easily IMO

kaisertralfaz

It sucks losing two qbs like that and all fan bases have their share of embarrassing fans. Hope the QB situation gets sorted and y'all have better luck with injuries next season.

LossyP

Appreciate that! It’s been a crazy season but hopefully they get it together soon

F4STW4LKER

Appreciate you, Cali bro

It's hard to blame the 49ers being frustrated about injuries since it feels like you lose everyone every year. We were there too pre-Sirianni. Trust us, we get the frustration of year after year massive injuries holding you back. Unless the Lions are legit, I don't see anyone being serious SB contenders besides us in the coming years, so I wish you well, I suspect we'll see each other again soon.

LossyP

I think so too, seeing the Eagles get it together after that injury streak gives me hope for this team as well

Got_yayo

Watching the first half against the SF Defense was very difficult to watch. They are fast and swarm to the ball like killer bees

LossyP

Wish the team would’ve held up sooner, always next year!

Knightwing1047

I wanted to see Purdy have a fighting chance. We were the better team, no doubt about that. SF defense was STRONG that first half, but I legit wanted to see the kid play his heart out. I feel for him and I feel for 49er fans.

LossyP

I’m upset we all missed what could’ve been a better game, but the Eagles were the better team on Sunday

virtue-or-indolence

Props for showing good sportsmanship, it’s hard to do when your dreams collapse around you the way they did last Sunday. See you next season, good luck surviving the Trey vs Brock debates.
