There was confusion on the part of whoever wrote this post. He bought her a house in LA, which they assumed was Los Angeles, when it's actually Louisiana.
I think they meant simple in the context of him having just signed a 75M deal. Many players go out and buy a huge mansion worth millions of dollars in that situation.
I grew up within 25 miles of NYC. Dropping 600k on house up to about a decade ago would get you about an average house in a decent neighborhood. You’d be lucky to get a fixer-upper for that price nowadays.
While an accurate response, my point still remains.
In my area, in NC, where there are oddly some of the best RE markets in the country based on # of units sold, 600k gets you 2-3 times that house throughout most of the state. Unless it's on the coast or smack in the middle of the bigger cities, you'd get so much more.
Yeah good point. It's just crazy that... It can only cost that much if people are willing to pay for it. The fact that it's gotten to the level it has is still just wild to me.
I'm pretty sure he lives in Moorestown so $600k is on the low side for many of the houses there.
Also him, AJ and Gainwell showed up to my kids high-school and were working out on the track. Was super cool, my son got a picture with AJ they all hung around and shot the shit until kids literally started leaving their classes to run outside and the school asked if they could leave lol.
The reason people are saying simple is because they expect him to spend multimillions on homes since he got a 75 million contract. He's just being smart. On the flip side, players who spent millions on real-estate and are now broke get ridiculed. Just can't win.
“Smitty only purchased a 600k home instead of an eight figure estate. Per sources this is to mock the eagles and highlight his disgust with the organization “
Same. The meat was better, fries better. It was small and classic. My cousin lived down the road from there and we’d hit it every chance we’d get. I went to the new location once and was super disappointed.
I remember him doing this as a rookie, which doesn’t at all take away from it, just asking if this is new news or just someone framing it wrong. In other words, did he just buy her a second home, or is someone 4 years late to the presses?
You're right! He hasn't recently bought his mom a second home. This is the house he bought in 2021, a month after buying his mom a home.
Still great dude and love him but this is recent
I know you're being sarcastic/facetious/whatever the word is to say a 600k house isn't simple. In some areas, houses that are legitimately "starter homes" that need serious renovations are valued at 775k. If you saw my house you would think maybe 300k, yet it cost nearly double, and somehow it's now valued at 750-775. Housing is fucked in a lot of places.
Seriously good for him. If you have earned access to that type of money off a nice house and a car and invest or save the rest for Old You and your family. The dudes wasting their millions on 20 vehicles, 7 homes, and a farm and shit are doing it completely wrong.
It’s got to be Louisiana. He’s a country boy from Louisiana, why would he want his mom in Los Angeles? BTW the picture of the house is the one he just bought in Marlton, New Jersey.
Louisiana lol not Los Angeles right? I think we got the wrong LA Southeast Louisiana I’m pretty sure
Lol I was just thinking the same thing
If that’s the case, she’s gonna be set for life with how cheap living is in bum fuck Louisiana. Man do I miss their food though.
what a dick. Buys his mom a house and forces her to move to california. I'd be like... Nah.... I'm good son.
As someone who lives in Los Angeles, that house would be easily at least double that, so that's how I know it meant Louisiana and not Los Angeles
Total Chad 💯
Vip status unrelated question how did u get the eagles logo next to your name?
On the subreddit page click the icon with three dots and then click change user flair
Thanks!
This ⬆️
You only get that if you work for the eagles organization in some capacity
Smith is a dude who's going to be part of the eagles family for decades to come in and out of uniform dude is a good person.
Here mom, you can have a house, but you have to live clear on the other side of the country from me
Whomst among us wouldn't do that if we had the money?
It’s in Louisiana, not Los Angeles
One of the worst sentences you can hear from parents or in laws after having lived alone is “well we were just in the neighborhood”.
There was confusion on the part of whoever wrote this post. He bought her a house in LA, which they assumed was Los Angeles, when it's actually Louisiana.
I mean, if I was his mom, I’d want to live in LA too, not New Jersey 🤣
Simple 600k home is a crazy sentence
I make 1/400 of what he makes and I got a simple 600k house. Not so crazy
It's just crazy that a simple house is 600k nowadays. The inflation is insane.
I think they meant simple in the context of him having just signed a 75M deal. Many players go out and buy a huge mansion worth millions of dollars in that situation.
For example, google "Russell Wilson bathroom mansion"
If the plumbing breaks, I dont wanna have to keep pooping in the same toilet until the plumber gets there. He's thinking ahead
Bryce Harper’s New Jersey home is simple as well.
I grew up within 25 miles of NYC. Dropping 600k on house up to about a decade ago would get you about an average house in a decent neighborhood. You’d be lucky to get a fixer-upper for that price nowadays.
I bought my house 10 years ago for $450k. During the height of covid the value almost doubled. Sitting around $725k-$750k now.
Capitalism...bootstraps...hard work...something... *dies*
600k home is a standard, run-of-the-mill home, if not a fixer upper in every high cost of living urban area in the USA.
I’m from honey brook and the fact shitty communist block looking houses are going for $500k blows my fucking mind.
I grew up in Kensington and live in Denver now. You should see the prices for the fucking cardboard sheds people call houses here.
you should see the prices of cardboard sheds in kensington now. Tiny grass plots used to be under 10K now going for over 100k
I just hate that the house pictured, unless it faces Times Square, costs $600k, period.
I think that home that’s pictured is in LA.
No way that's LA. Could be stock image though

I don’t doubt that you’re right, but housing prices in the US is not primarily based on size but the location and availability vs desirability.
Yeah good point. It's just crazy that... It can only cost that much if people are willing to pay for it. The fact that it's gotten to the level it has is still just wild to me.
Yeah, but then you have to live in NC.
Lolol true.
Tbf $600k for a home in south Jersey in this market is likely just a four BR 2 ba home, 2,400 sq ft.
I'm pretty sure he lives in Moorestown so $600k is on the low side for many of the houses there. Also him, AJ and Gainwell showed up to my kids high-school and were working out on the track. Nowadays it’s a true statement, but still fuckin crazy

Bidenomics
WIP: Smitty upset with AJ Brown extension, could be a Ram in 2025
“Smitty only purchased a 600k home instead of an eight figure estate. Per sources this is to mock the eagles and highlight his disgust with the organization “
It would track with the shitty reporting that he bought her a house in Los Angeles instead of Louisiana
More about this and why Jalen Hurts might be a Russian Sleeper Agent, after this message from Nicks Roast Beef
I miss the Cottman Ave Nicks don't remind me lol.
Same. The meat was better, fries better. It was small and classic. My cousin lived down the road from there and we’d hit it every chance we’d get. I went to the new location once and was super disappointed.
I lived right down the street for years, it was basically the only restaurant we went to after Bennigans closed lol.
I remember him doing this as a rookie, which doesn’t at all take away from it, just asking if this is new news or just someone framing it wrong. In other words, did he just buy her a second home, or is someone 4 years late to the presses?

Not that he's so0o0o0 old now but he definitely looks younger in that photo
His house is in Giants colors. He better paint that son of a bitch green.
Imagine you're trying to buy a house and the guy you're bidding against is Devonta Smith.
Devonta is a real one. Get that man a skullie. Better make it two. (I hope someone gets this reference)
He should be Mic’d up every game.
Agreed. Devonta and BG, every single game.
Aint tryin to get sick now!
That's what I need..
WHERE'S ED?? ED!!!!!
People just want a nice house we shouldn’t have to be multimillionaires to be able to get one 😭
Getting his jersey was a no brainer
man I fucking love Smitty
hear me out on moms
Smitty would play OT if we asked him to and if it would help us win. I love that man
A simple 600k home.
I know you're being sarcastic/facetious/whatever the word is to say a 600k house isn't simple. Lmfao a simple $600,000 home 😂
Also an absolute professional on the field. Doesn’t complain, doesn’t whine, just plays ball and gives it his all.
Seriously good for him. If you have earned access to that type of money off a nice house and a car and invest or save the rest for Old You and your family. The dudes wasting their millions on 20 vehicles, 7 homes, and a farm and shit are doing it completely wrong.
Damn and it’s not too crazy of a house too just looks super nice / new. My mans simple in the right way
That’s what I’m talking about! That’s why he’s the MVP!!!! That’s why he’s the goat!….THE GOAT
The only reason I could spend insane money on a house if I was rich is for security, otherwise dudes doing the right thing
As someone who lives in Los Angeles, that house would be easily at least double that, so that's how I know it meant Louisiana and not Los Angeles
I'm not telling y'all where but I'm 95% sure I've delivered pizza to this neighborhood before.
Beautiful gesture but The fact that house is worth 600k is absurd
He's lookin a lil chubbier in the face. He up to 190 now?
No that's his mom. Devonta is the one in the green
Smiths gonna learn quick there's a reason rich people buy big properties. Break in waiting to happen
It’s got to be Louisiana. He’s a country boy from Louisiana, why would he want his mom in Los Angeles? BTW the picture of the house is the one he just bought in Marlton, New Jersey.
