> I'm looking to buy a good powerful, but small and light-portable laptop, that can handle heavy After Effects creations. This doesn't *really* exist; especially at that budget. Look at the nVidia Studio Laptops - they have serious GPUS - but AE is heavy RAM + CPU.

Isn’t GPU still important though? With 2K I’m sure op can find a laptop with good CPU, GPU and upgradable memory.

After Effects loves RAM and disc cache space to work with, maximize ram on a laptop for sure, 32-64 GB minimum.

I use the Gigabyte Aero 15 with the 3070. Should be about 2k. Couldn't find anything comparable with it for the money and the 4k oled screen is nice, although no substitute for a good monitor to hook it up to.

Looks at the Boxx computer. Up to i9 10th Gen, up to RTX5000 16GB gpu and up to 64GB of rams. [https://www.boxx.com/systems/mobile-workstations/goboxx-slm](https://www.boxx.com/systems/mobile-workstations/goboxx-slm) Disregard the Boxx computer, just saw the $2000 price tag.

ASUS ROG Zephyrus G14. I think those have the 8C/16T Ryzen 9 4900/5900HS CPUs and RTX 2060/3060MQ Graphics. You can typically find either the 2020 (120Hz FHD Display) or 2021 (144Hz FHD Display) model available, these days. The 2020 Model can save you some money. Depends on what you're looking for and what your needs are. RAM upgrades aren't optimal, though (one slot upgradeable, other soldered 8GB - so Asymmetric Dual Channel when you upgrade). Beyond that, you can try a Razer Blade Stealth (unsure on upgradeability)... or just move on to bigger more creator-focused machines (which will not be lightweight, and won't have as good battery life as the G14 or Stealth).
