Definitely the exploration for me. I want to recapture the excitement of my first playthrough, before I knew what was around every corner and behind every fog wall.
New things to do and see that don't require guides and getting past hours of content first.
I am sure there is tons of stuff in base ER I've missed or haven't done, quests I've never seen through.
But after 260 hours I ain't gonna find it by myself with looking things up.
Once I enter that DLC. BOOM. Everything is fun and new and exciting again.
I just miss Elden Ring being exciting. It's routine now. And it deserves better than that.
Yes. Need me a top hat or some color variations of existing helms/hats!
Also some cainhurst looking drip would be pretty cool; or just anything inspired by Bloodborne's style.
From what I’ve heard of the preview and some of the characters/creatures/sorceries/weapons it sure sounds like there’s new int/faith stuff (but no confirmation of the scaling that I’ve seen)
Thanks! I'll be excited to find out. All I've seen are people talking about lore over the same promo footage, and what the new weapon types are, but nothing beyond that. I'd love to check it out if you happen to remember where you saw it.
There’s a ton of videos of some special folks who got to play for three hours in the first area, and the supportive evidence I’ve seen (light spoilers ahead, maybe)
>! - one of the three classes was an int/faith sorcerer using new ghost flame sorceries
- there was a death bird golem present as both a field boss and a summon, implying there’s more death sorceries ahead (all requiring int/faith in the base game and enhanced by an int/faith staff)
- one of the legacy dungeon bosses is a Carian princess who drops a fire and moon weapon with her remembrance — the only other version we’ve seen of this in the base game was sword of night and flame, also an int/faith weapon
- we see an NPC allied with Miquella apparently using a new golden order ring of light style incantation, available as a boss summon
Thanks! That all sounds awesome. Hopefully the new weapons won't have three way split damage like N&F does—as is, it's practically useless outside of its weapon skills, and trying to split scale erdtree dagger or Clayman's spear causes the same problem. I appreciate the info; I'll keep my fingers crossed!
Also, I'm not worried about spoilers personally, but just FYI, you tagged it wrong.
I used all three in my int faith run myself and felt similarly frustrated. Think at the end of the day I just used ghost flame sorceries with Prince of death staff and all the faith buffs and terra magica and Ranni’s Dark Moon if I really wanted to kill shit.
Golden order incantations were fun, but I only had three real attacks, and it made me wish the golden order weapons scaled similarly.
I never found a really good play style with magma sorceries, couldn’t time or aim the explosions right, but rykard’s rancor was awesome
From the looks of what content that has been released it seems there is a mix of schools of magic being expanded on and new schools of magic being released
From what weve seen from the dlc gameplay, the sorceries looked pretty lack luster. We got another pebble spell with better tracking and another gravity spell. It felt underwhelming compared to the confirmed incantations we know we’re getting like the miranda flower, and the crucible wings.
Really hoping they get creative with sorceries. Holy sorceries, more ice and fire sorceries. Stuff thats actually easier to hit the enemy with. The tracking on sorceries suck.
Yeah I've not nearly enough energy to discuss those topics, that's starting to branch from the initial topic of new spells from dlc. I however am hopeful and excited for the new spells. Incantation or sorcery.
Killing everything that isn’t a friendly npc and exploring areas. Not knowing what’s around the corner, behind the doors etc. I love exploring and finding things in these games

The new weapon types look so cool, can’t wait to try them out and maybe bring them back to the base game. Also locking an entire DLC behind a late game optional boss is such an insane move.
its because of the lore ties mostly, but i can definitely see where you're coming from, i did a ng+ run so the dlc would be a little harder on release and by god even fighting mohg with bleed and 70 arcane, its hell and not very much fun majority of the time getting bled from the fire on the ground
oh yeah i 100% agree with you, i feel like some people would more-so come to terms with it though once understanding that the story plays into it equally as much as being good at the game, simply because the story is already hard to understand unless you dive into it mindfully, idk maybe im overthinking it but to me i see it as the company playing a smart move just so that everyone that goes into it also has fair experience with elden ring as a whole, and because the difficulty of the dlc will be far higher capped above the base game
I have no idea if it'll be in there or not, but I would love the possibility of free respecs. The only reason I'm high level is because I don't want to burn through larval tears to change my playstyle.
Milady.
Also, exploring the map (and maybe not sprinting past every enemy lmao).
Also also, the martial arts. I'm deeply curious to see how they've managed the fist-weapon range issue.
Final also, I wanna see how the new crystal tear works and if it really does feel like that other game.
I'm excited to die to a bullshit boss 1,000 times before victory. And then opening YouTube and seeing someone do it naked with a broadsword first try in less than 5 minutes
The ability to experience this game again, I know it's DLC and not the base game. But I want to just discover something new in one of my favorite games.
Im just excited to play a really good game again. Last year definitely spoiled me with several of my all time favorite games ever: TOTK, BG3, RE4, and Elden Ring. I know ER came out a while back, but 2023 was when I picked the game up again, realized Limegrave was just the first region, and fell absolutely in love.
2024 has been a real drought for me in comparison. I’ve been bouncing between games trying to find something that clicks with no luck. So, I’m just super excited to sink my teeth into a game I know I’m going to love.
New clothes. since I’ve started playing these games it’s been my favorite aspect. one of my biggest disappointments with sekiro even tho it’s easily the most fun from soft game for me
Everything but some highlights are new weapons especially martial arts and the monk looking boss like pulling out his spine looks so epic and I’m super excited to fight him
Exploring, weapons (Mostly perfume bottles, thrown weapons and light greatswords), spells and armor. I want a good chest piece like bull goat but different in design and style, just High defensive stats.
Yes. You only need to have Mohg defeated.
I have a playthrough ready where Renalla and Mohg are the only bosses I have beat because I want I use the DLC weapons on everyone else.
Hands down the going in completely blind.
Yes, I've seen a lot of the DLC, certain areas and stuff, but nothing that's ruined that first blind-through experience.
Nothing beats that overall first time learning anything and everything for yourself in a game like this.
Definitely the exploration for me. I want to recapture the excitement of my first playthrough, before I knew what was around every corner and behind every fog wall.
Exactly the same for me, I miss not knowing anything about what I'm doing or where I'm going
As someone who’s got all the steam achievements I truly feel this. 100%ing a game for me leaves little desire to replay no matter how much I love them
The new weapons especially the martial arts
i’m hyped for the big boi katana and the light greatsword
Wonder how much dex i need for the Thic-Tana….
was thinking the same thing, if i had to guess prolly like 20-30
yes!! it sounds awesome
Came here to say exactly this.

Fellow fashion enjoyer
New hats please
Yes. Need me a top hat or some color variations of existing helms/hats! Also some cainhurst looking drip would be pretty cool; or just anything inspired by Bloodborne's style.
The spells
I really hope they have a combination catalyst. Would make INT/FTH builds much easier to manage.
From what I’ve heard of the preview and some of the characters/creatures/sorceries/weapons it sure sounds like there’s new int/faith stuff (but no confirmation of the scaling that I’ve seen)

Oh god I’ve never tagged spoilers before on the Reddit app the little < and > and the exclamations didn’t seem to work
I think the exclamation needs to be inside the "<" marks.
Hoping they make sorceries worth while. Incantations have gotten too much love compared to sorceries.
From the looks of what content that has been released it seems there is a mix of schools of magic being expanded on and new schools of magic being released

Thorns and rot as well!
I hope they give the niche spell types some love, frost especially has so much potential for cool spells
nerd
All of it
New armor sets, Greatswords, and New weapons to farm for. I can’t wait to see what type of fashion souls I can make for them.
Spells and weapons, the character I made for the dlc is a strength mage, basically.

The location and hidden areas within it

Yeah but from a financial perspective it’s a very ballsy move. Only 15% of players have taken Mohg, so only 15% can even play the DLC
oh yeah i 100% agree with you, i feel like some people would more-so come to terms with it though once understanding that the story plays into it equally as much as being good at the game, simply because the story is already hard to understand unless you dive into it mindfully, idk maybe im overthinking it but to me i see it as the company playing a smart move just so that everyone that goes into it also has fair experience with elden ring as a whole, and because the difficulty of the dlc will be far higher capped above the base game

I would love this, even though I have over 10 larval tears left I just feel like I can’t use them because there won’t be enough haha
Potential for my new bonk stick I got for a caveman build
Just the martial arts
Getting ambushed by imps and slogging through status effect swamps.
Milady. Also, exploring the map (and maybe not sprinting past every enemy lmao). Also also, the martial arts. I'm deeply curious to see how they've managed the fist-weapon range issue. Final also, I wanna see how the new crystal tear works and if it really does feel like that other game.

LORE!!!!!
Exploring every inch of the new map, the base game map was large and I can't expect what else could be in the dlc
The ability to experience this game again, I know it's DLC and not the base game. But I want to just discover something new in one of my favorite games.
I WANT TO KNOW MORE ABOUT MIQUELLA! WHERE YOU AT LIL BRO?
Yes
Messmer's lore
Im just excited to play a really good game again. Last year definitely spoiled me with several of my all time favorite games ever: TOTK, BG3, RE4, and Elden Ring. I know ER came out a while back, but 2023 was when I picked the game up again, realized Limegrave was just the first region, and fell absolutely in love. 2024 has been a real drought for me in comparison. All the parts
I love the build variety in elden ring, so i’m really hopeful that Holy, Death Blight, Quality and Sleep builds are going to get some love in the DLC
The inevitable suffering and torments for myself and my xbox controller, probably will caused by the hidden or challenge boss
Hopefully some more info to GEQ, and the light greatswords

Getting to fight a boss that I don't have memorized.
Am I able to enter DLC if I havnt finished final boss fight? The play through I want to use I have everything finished but final fight, intentionally.

Yes
Beast claws and Lion Dancer, I already have some fashion cooking that involves it's head.
Skeleton
