That is correct. Bennett's buff (and healing) only effect the on field character. For a character to carry this off-field, they need to snapshot (Xiangling and Fischl for example).
Now, it's very likely we get a new Attack buffer who doesn't have Bennett's limitations in the future (buffs whole Team, no Circle Impact, etc).

Please, Pyro archon, save us... but I was expecting a strong pyro applier rather than an atk buffer. She could be both but worse than xiangling and bennett in their respective fields (applies less pyro + doesn't buff atk as much, at least until c2) so it'd make sense.
I really do hope Murata is the Bennett alternative/powercreep i've been waiting for. I'm also going to C2 her as well like i did with Raiden, Nahida and Furina.
Post 1.x patches c2 archon collectioner too, I see!
I really wish she's a good alternative or that they allow her to be better than him, even if it's c2 locked. They seem to want to make abyss 12 harder these days, so new, so its a good time to release better units than the 1.0 ones. (I also dislike playing bennett a lot.)

Like, you would press their skill, and if you quick swapped off, it would still have the buff even though they were off field. Characters like Xiangling and Fischl, though, can have their entire rotations built around snapshotting, since their damage is persistent and off field.
For new characters, it's one of the earliest things tested in the Beta, because it lets you know how good a character will be off field, and a general clue on what kind of Teams Hoyoverse is pushing for.
While the concept sounds good, it's generally not. If Emilie did snapshot, her kit would be adjusted for this. She would essentially be handcuffed to Bennett, as Hoyoverse would have to balance around her snapshotting.
An off-field pyro applicator is way better for her (if ur dps isnt fire to begin with) as u wanna keep reapplying fire for the burn.

If your Dendro app is good enough, you don't need to reapply Pyro to keep Burning going. Only to get it started.
This is since Burning applies Pyro while it is active.
Of course, you still have to watch out with other reactions, like Bloom, Melt and especially Vape.

You probably also don’t want another dendro since it’d be more beneficial to use a cryo character to trigger melts. So still you probably need an offield pyro to keep the burning or a much harder version: having a pyro swirl e.x. Kazuha burst into Bennett circle while having the enemy applied with cryo to swirl both elements.
Yeaah! I mean the core is just 1 fire 1 dendro, maybe an anemo unit can increase the fire units dmg. Oh also a healer/shielder cuz burning hurts like a bitch
She isn't: her abilities don't snapshot so Bennett's buff is relevant only when you plan to on-field her. Though there's this is this issue where majority of on-field dpses that would like her on their teams like Benny very much if they aren't reliant on him to begin with. Still, there are teams with Emilie that should be good and don't have Bennett. One that I plan to try myself is Emilie - Furina - Baizhu - Klee (or other pyro on-fielder): pyro here is primarly there to enable reactions, majority of teams dmg should come from Emilie and forward vape Furina.
I dont think it will matter much, since Emilie doesn't snap shot and she's a super sub (\*dare I compare her like Xingqiu imho\*)
I think Pyro Resonance will be good enough for her, however, finding a good Pyro battery that isn't bennett will be the real challenge

More like a mono pyro team with Emilie. With Yanfei/Emilie/Jean/Bennet or something like that. Nahida just doesn't do anything in a team like that. EM isn't good with Burning the scalin is just too small, I'd just build Yanfei without em.

Very few characters benefit from bennet while being off field. Bennet is in most cases a buff just for on fielder

burning won't hurt much anymore with Emilie in the team, she reduces self-damage from burning by 85%

He is one of her best teammates, that's for sure. But not mandatory.
He isnt, bennet doesnt buff atk of off field characters unless they snapshot, whoch she doesnt
