Etrade is getting rid of API. So if you had a program open the account for you, they likely deem it a risk/fraud issue and locked these types of accounts.
I did using a vpn on the app. Was showing my IP address in Ukraine. But I called them and they unlocked it while I Was on the phone. They should be able to unlock it in about 5 minutes. Shouldn’t take weeks
They did the exact same thing to me. I had to answer questions about myself and where the money came from. Once they freed my account I transferred it to Fidelity. I’m done with ETrade.
I had my account blocked after I went through identity theft. My funds were frozen for over a month. After that they fired me as a client. They treated me like a criminal the way time as though I was faking it. It was a truly horrible experience. I switched to Fidelity.
E-TRADE would lock my account for the absolute dumbest shit imaginable. Any time I went to do essentially anything, it was locked. I moved all of my shit out of there except my IRA and now it's locked again. Whatever happened when MS took over is going to be the downfall of this now garbage company.
Haha! Got them. Your in for a “few more days” promises…. Man I had a important trade to make, and waited for the day of the trade to try to make the trade and the account was locked! Cuz of my young age and funds on account. or something…. Anyway yes I did the wet signature, and kept getting passed back and forth, and then got the “account manager approval” etc etc… anyway a month or two later it got approved… but I called every like 3-4 days……. And now E*trade works perfect. Literaly no complaints on the app. I trade and sell no problems and transfer money. So be patient and call more often…. I estimate about a month. I was IN EXACTLY YOUR SHOE MAN.
Sounds about right. MS has really messed up Etrades systems and processes.
