I toyed around with a simulator in a spot like this before (Ray put his simulator on my computer a couple years ago but I barely know how to use it). I'm pretty sure that the simulation would say calling diamonds with 2 trump + 2 aces is better than calling Next with no trump + 3 aces. But I can't remember how that result compared with simply passing with 3 aces. I know we block no suits if we pass but this 3 ace configuration has some added defense to it as it stops all non-JJX reverse next loners. Very interesting spot to me. That said, if I had a P who called Next here I would feel nothing but admiration. I will never hate on a risky fambke!
*gamble ffs lol
Haha thank you, I was about to look up "fambke" acronym.
Every euchre player knows that a next call with no trump is known as a fambke.
If i succeed in another fambke I'll make sure to post it!
As long as you sit on that Ac, this play is just fine
Those risky fambkes man. What a rush!

Thx, also of note, it was a bower turned down
Especially up 7-1 getting set is not a huge deal. The possibility of opponents hitting a loner is probably worse.
This definitely crossed my mind. Though I'd likely try this at nearly any score, given the urge.
