I'm super behind and watched the original series AGES ago... like probably in 2007 when it came out.
I recently discovered it on crunchyroll when we got it for a different anime. I figured I'd watch the 3 movies as a recap... I didn't realize the movies were something else and hit a whole bunch of plot twists I wasn't ready for and cried.
I decided to try AO and my brain and my heart weren't ready for that.
I think it's worse because I'm also a mom...
I definitely cried and I'm left a little lost in space honestly.
I didn't expect the psychological thriller aspect of it.
Idk if that was the case for anyone else.
This is kind of what happened with me. I had found the movies on Amazon after completing forgetting about them after they originally aired in like 2017/2018. They were good for what they were!
Rewatching the OG though, that had me fucked up, same as I remembered it all those years ago haha. This time I did decide watching AO! I had kinda skipped through it all right as the show was ending and only watched like 5 minutes of the last episode after not getting invested from the first 2. I’m glad I’ve given it a second chance. I think the movies kind of helped with my mindset of it overall
