I can assure you it's beautiful. Just this weekend I drove across the Storebæltsbroen and the Øresundsbroen and visited Copenhagen. Just crazy how peaceful and settled the country is.
Can someone explain why can’t it be scaled up to bigger countries like Germany or France? They are also developed countries but are still a distance from Denmark or Netherlands.
I really don't see the former West German states as lagging behind Denmark or the Netherlands
GDP per capita is similar, when adjusted for price differences, from Munich to Amsterdam, to Hamburg, to Copenhagen
Life expectancy is also similar
Average work hours are also similar
The biggest difference in quality of life between the countries are home ownership rates, which are lower in Germany
My guess is that Denmark is primarily a service economy with little production. Larger countries have more varied economic sectors that lead to more problems in areas where Denmark excels.
I also think trust in public institutions is a big cultural part
The people, regions and industry in Germany and France are way more diverse. A small country is very homogenous and can be succesful for just having a few good industry sectors, and then import what you don't have.
It is also relate to probability, having a smaller sample size simply means it will be easier to find a sample population with a particular value for any factor.
Because the scale is the key. The relatively small and uniform Danish society generates the trust and coherence in the population that
powers a social democracy and that makes the difference.
I used to live with a couple of Danes, and let me tell you, as a Romanian, the conversations we had about politics, social cohesion, and all other sorts of societal subjects were A L I E N to me. They like their politicians, they trust other people, and they trust the system they built, it's insane. They trust themselves and others a lot, and this shows in their low perceived corruption.
Of course they trust thei politicians as they have voted for them for good reasons not how people in romanian vote them becasuse they belieive stupid promises like higher pensions or salaries or because they got a pack of sugar or a bottle of sunflower oil.
Also they trust their healtcare system as nobody is asking them for bribe, unlike in Romania.
Have you ever thought that their perceived corruption might be so low because actually it is that low?
so pls explain me (like i´m 5), how come that on this level of brainiacs (i´m old, magister in economy, still reading interdisciplinary) you dunskie have legal zoo philia puffs? goat fu Kings?
also ... colonies money well invested
What are you babbling about "colonies money". The Danish vestindies only benefitted a few rich people in Denmark. It certainly wasn't something that gained Denmark or the people in any way.
What mostly drove the danish economy was "stavnsbåndet" which was basicly slavery. And no... it's not something to do with black slaves or colonies. This was white danes, who were forced to work at farms in terrible conditions.
1. now -39 points ... yes you are sooo evolved your exelencies.
polska/ lechia here, so the very slaves who got to arabs since thousands of years and not for only 400y, and the very nice neigbours from all sides.
2. ... i get a bit of economy. yes, of course with the colonies, less then benelux and the southern lands, then the whole region got better, coz i.e. see, dealers and more jobs in beetween as a result.
3. beastiality. ( u/AllOfMyPlantsAreFake) a vet needed to find out why the chickens don´t lay eggs ... it was a teenager. polska. that is most wierd i´ve read - where is a need ...

Denmark such a beautiful country, and with a strong society 💪
What’s with the plants growing books at 31% and 13%?
This means that 31% of the Danes receive an education their entire lives because, for example, they read or attend seminars and courses.
Long live our dear brothers in Denmark. 🇩🇰 You guys rock
What the hell is this?
Next thing they will be giving us a giant wooden horse.
I think the match yesterday slapped the arrogance out of them. Either that or this is a front for an ambush.
faktiskt
This... Is this what they call "søskendekærlighed"?
I don’t like it. Seems suspicious.
I wouldn’t trust him
I may or may not have said this already, but I think I should visit Denmark someday.
I can assure you it's beautiful. Just this weekend I drove across the Storebæltsbroen and the Øresundsbroen and visited Copenhagen. Just crazy how peaceful and settled the country is.
I love you guys!
It's a shame Denmark is small, otherwise it would be able to carry the entire union.
Can someone explain why can’t it be scaled up to bigger countries like Germany or France? They are also developed countries but are still a distance from Denmark or Netherlands.
Distant in what ways? I don’t think the difference is that big.

Innovation is easier in smaller divisions. I suppose it all comes down to this
Because the scale is the key. The relatively small and uniform Danish society generates the trust and coherence in the population that powers a social democracy and that makes the difference.
Hygge!
Also number 1 in the world for the lowest perceived corruption!

I guess they are number 1 in most hitlists
44% of EU citizens aged 16-74 don't have basic digital skills? How do you even survive in today's world without that?
They read what the russian bot tells him on twitter and then they believe it.
Now compare it to surrounding countries with similar wealth.
6 million estimated by 2028.
