Really really great song, love the armenian language and the traditional elements. The only thing i wish was that there were less la la la's cause at a small section of the song with no singing the instrumental alone sounds so so much better and impactful imo
Goes with “great power” - which is what USA progaganda downgraded Russia to, after being a superpower (as USSR).
Words have meaning… and can cause endless inner rage (boils and bubbles, toils and troubles…till the cup floweth over)
I really love Armenia this year. It also reminds me a lot of the songs from 2000's eurovision, there were quite a few folky entries from that time so I'm quite fond of entries like this.
I felt yesterday that it gives me Historiya Moya Zhizya vibes. (Belarus 2017) Very fun and very catchy, native language, a girl and a boy, shouting heyayayayayyaya and just a big party. Will probably be equally succesful
I have very mixed feelings. When I watched the mv, they sold it, it felt joyous and cute, but I have not felt the need to watch/hear it ever since. When you realise that most of the song is just la la la, it seems like a very underwhelming lyrical effort for a song, which is going to compete and be judged at a song contest. People are way harsher with poor/simple English content, for example this year deservedly Cyprus gets panned for ooh lala fillers, but when it's not in English or pop, it seems like more is allowed? I've also seen a reaction from an Armenian and she said that this was basically what you could hear at every village wedding. So sure, it's representative for the country and their culture, but is it really that original or just a step or two from than last year's Perenita mea?
Yeah, I had this very thought while analysing songs for my ranking that "Jako" feels a little bit too "instrumental oriented" for a contest where instruments are basically mimed on stage. And I don't use it as a complaint, it's just an itching observation.
Counter argument:
Norway 1995 . The closest to a full instrumental song winning.
I do agree with the mimicking instruments part, but it didn't stop acts like Maneskin from winning either.
idk I can't really agree with this. I feel like the la la la's, while simple, are really meant for audience interaction. They sing apart, the audience sings the next part-- that really seems to be the goal here, to just kind of create a fun moment with the audience which not a lot of acts do, so I really like it.
In Madrid the audience was singing that part so loudly that jaklin was shocked for a second and stopped singing it for a few seconds and let the audience take over also it HAS meaning she goes lalala on the bs she's been told to do like in that song from Sam Smith
Rin, just wanted to say I appreciate the hell out of you for making these posts, and between that and being a Raiven fan, I think you're a dope human being. Sometimes this fandom can be toxic, but posts like these bring a smile to my face!!❤️❤️❤️ I love your ability to find so many good sides of an entry.
Omg you’re that other Raiven fan that wrote about how great Veronika is!!! I am glad you enjoyed this post! ❤️ i made this post because appreciation and bringing discussion! 🐱
Mmmmmmeh! Honestly I kinda enjoyed it the first time I heard it, but then it just sounded like a kids song and kinda annoying to be honest. Especially the part where the "crowd" is supposed to sing, I just find it cringey and almost mocking
Honestly, I think it's a bit of a shame that after Snap, the monster hit worldwide that they're going in this direction. Nothing modern, nothing you can play in a club, but a song for a local concert. Greece for instance are doing something similar but, much better and more modern 👍👍👍.
After Snap, there was Future Lover. And you are being a bit insensitive and insulting and ignorant, because you simply say that Armenian local concerts are shameful. If you didn't know, this song is a qef/tashi song witna bit of rabiz, a type of song that armenains play at parties.
>Greece for instance are doing something similar but, much better
\*looks at my ranking\*
Can't say I agree. I can't stand the "ta ta ta" part of Greece at all. I'd probably like the song if it weren't for that, but as soon as that part starts I know why it's in the bottom of my ranking.
On the other hand Jako always makes me smile and genuinely happy whenever and wherever I hear it.
Greece might be more modern, but that doesn't make it better.
I also enjoy the cultural aspect of Jako much more than Snap, which honestly doesn't seem like anything special and could've been anyone. Though I also liked Future Lover a lot, so right now Armenia is a great Eurovision country for me.
It was a TikTok song, not an Eurovision song.
There's a reason it flopped at Eurovision. I didn't even think the song was bad (imho the performance ruined it), but it's certainly not a song I'd associate with Armenia immediately if I heard it without any further information.
Flop? It went to the finals. The song was a commercial bomb. Was played everywhere on the radio in every single country basically. How it became a hit or if it was thanks to tiktok or not doesn't matter.
Greek song is local but at the same time international and could be played on the radio or in a club and it would work. 👍. This Armenian song - no. :((
I think the modern cool songs should be rewarded, because at the end of the day Eurovision is a modern music competition, not a local concert/festival, thats it. 👍👍.
Theyre sooo cool even their Band has a band
12. Chickens
> great Russian SUV I mean I like the song but the Russians weren’t really renowned for their cars.
14. Biggest smiles.
i’m so happy to be seeing a lot of jako love! ever since it came out i absolutely adored it but i felt it was so underrated

Ararat! I keep a bottle for special occasions, really like this stuff.
Also my fave this year. Agree with the list but the no. 1 reason for me is Jako herself. She is such a magnet.
Can you guys resend this but in adult Eurovision? [https://youtu.be/1RG_qhN4e3M?si=RGQbKG8BfoISEeDn](https://youtu.be/1RG_qhN4e3M?si=RGQbKG8BfoISEeDn)
A grown up version of that song would have had me levitating. If she ever wins the adult competition, she must do it.
I truly feel that point 6 is an absolutely significant element to its success
Really really great song, love the armenian language and the traditional elements. The only thing i wish was that there were less la la la's cause at a small section of the song with no singing the instrumental alone sounds so so much better and impactful imo
Calling a Lada Niva a “great Russian SUV” is being really generous with the word great

1. Lalalai 2. Lalalaila 3. Lala 4. Lalalaila 5. Lalala
They conned us by making us fall in love with a song that literally only has 15 actual words in it. Yes. Agreed.

Sure, although "Nocturne" was in the orchestral days. People can love "Jako" and vote for it, it won't change my thought.

Don't get where you see the mockery in engaging your audience. This song is not for everyone but mockery is definitely not part of it

"doesn't seem like anything special". So it's "nothing special" to be the most commercial boom of all Eurovision songs ever? lol.

Who says it needs to play at a club for it to be a banger!

Don’t know why people think this, The song is meant to *REPRESENT* the country, if this represents there country then I love it.
Honestly this is a crazy good representation and 5/6 members aren't even from the country
Ikr, It shows how good representation is
what? But all songs are representing there countries :))
Representing who there country is, not just pop music and ballads all the time (which I like, just saying I don’t want it to be just that)
why cant you a have a pop song and still represent your country? Lol
I’m not saying you can’t, I’m saying there should be more than just that and ballads, read what I’m writing carefullu
