>“and ~~also with you~~ with your spirit.” Lol, get with the times 😋 The Vatican changed it to more closely align with the original Latin "Et cum spiritu tuo"

essenceofnutmeg

But yes, I still respond "and also with you" every May 4th

Consistent-Force5375

Oh it’s been about 8 years now since attending a mass for my grandfather’s passing.

TheLori24

I have not regularly attended mass for about 18 years now. Imagine my surprise to go to my sister's traditional Catholic wedding about 5 years ago only to find out they changed all the words LOL

They only did that to mess up John Mulaney

RedOneBaron

Oh yeah, I was confused why they changed it. Noticed it at a funeral.

un_theist

Live long and prosper. 🖖🏻

nettlesmithy

May the 4th be with you.

Consistent-Force5375

And also with you.

gas_station_latte

...And with your force ghost.

AND WITH YOUR SPIRIT 🖖

MaxMMXXI

IIRC, in the old, old days it was, "and with thy spirit." It's is more correct since the Latin uses the *tu.* I supppose thee/thou/thy is considered antiquated English.

Blind_Hawkeye

Lol me
