So gross. No wonder we all had anxiety as children.

YamMedical4277

Why would anyone want their child to listen to this, yet R rated movies is a big NO NO…

DaisyBuchanan1925

A big wake up call for me was when I was still PIMQ (Mostly PIMO), my 2 year old woke up screaming that he had bloody holes in his hands. This was after reading him the Bible story book before bed about the life and death of Jesus. It was in that moment that I asked myself, “What the hell am I’m doing to my kids??” All my childhood terror from the books, magazines, etc. came flooding back to me. I threw away the Bible story book, and we never looked back.

Illustrious-Chart-75

"No R rated movies or God will kill you kids....anyways wanna see this picture of Jesus getting his hands brutally nailed onto a tree while blood flows down his face before you go to bed?"

Octopus-train

“Little Johnny stop using that stick as a sword! Jehovah hates violence! Now come sit over here and I’ll read you a story about God killing everyone in a flood. See this picture? That’s right he even killed babies.  And this beautiful rainbow means he’ll never destroy the world again…with a flood. “

YamMedical4277

“…with a flood” 😂😂😂

Weak_Director1554

Beware the deserving and the undeserving theology. I think we stored these in two departments in our brain, one group were undeserving, so we didn't stop to think of the rights and wrongs. This dynamic repeats in various areas of life, like the deserving poor and the undeserving poor.

Octopus-train

Yeah, only as children. Oh wait..😂😭

Prior-Logic-64

Grow up and move on. Living with ongoing fear of something that doesn't affect you anymore is ridiculous.

Freeluna16

Grow up and Move on? You must be a JW?

Prior-Logic-64

Never was a JW, yet know many. They are brainwashed sheep.  JWs  can't harm you nor can they control you. They can only determine your social circle. Grow up and move on is my best advice.

Freeluna16

Frankly, no one gives a fuck about your advice, it is not warranted in a group that is specifically dedicated to ex JWs. We discuss all things related to JWs here, this is a safe place where people come to vent and receive support from the only other people who can relate to their experiences. And your statement is contradictory, “they can’t harm you nor can they control you. They can only determine your social circle.” Explain how that makes sense? They isolate you from everything and everyone who is not in their cult, that’s harming and controlling, isn’t it?

Prior-Logic-64

They only isolate you if you allow it.  Geezus, don't be so weak.

NoHigherEd

Yes, WT has been spouting this for over 140 years. It's why our still in JW family (70ish) is terrified of literally EVERYTHING!

Past_Library_7435

The gist is: you’re going to die if you don’t listen, just like the world. See how the birds are poking their eyes out? That’s you if you venture out of J Borg.

YamMedical4277

Exactly…

Far_Criticism226

This is just disgusting! It is all centered on the 'org', or arrangement, NOT Christ! There is no hope with these people, just death, destruction, and crossing your fingers you did enough for the watchtower. My children will not endure what my parents put me through with the fear, it is so destructive.

xbrocottelstonlies

>My children will not endure what my parents put me through with the fear, 💯 Also, there is ZERO anything in the entire bible that uses the phrase or even any wording to straightforward explain 'obedience/following/loyalty to the ***kingdom arrangement*** That damn word **'arrangement'** is such a trigger to me now. AND - the option for not following this unbiblical 'arrangement' is Death and a gruesome one at that??? If this horse**it wasn't happening in real life it would be comical. Like live role playing D & D or some craziness.

LaMuertaX4i

It is 100% a death cult

cooper954

Is this new?

YamMedical4277

Yes, local Sunday talk

firejimmy93

I havent seen this in any recent publications, did he make any references to recent publication? Imagine being a 7 or 8 year old child having to listen to this bullshit. In a way its child abuse.

YamMedical4277

No references to a recent publication

cooper954

Wow.

Jaded_pipedreams

This terrible! How can people listen to this and not feel no way. It’s not about Jehovah it’s about the GB. It’s not biblical! And we’re supposed to invite people to listen to this nonsense.

Wise_Resource_2369

Omg Who do these men think they are?

Transformation1975

So gross 🤮 to all in the cult ..they put so much pressure and fear in you !!! But freedom feels so good and not afraid 😱 of nothing!! Because nothing is going to happen People wake up!!!

TheMicksta

This is mind control at its finest using fear and destruction at Armageddon, to keep people locked in.

Lovelylorag

Let my flesh rot, I am ok with that as opposed to this foolishness.

Educational-Treat-97

I left because I can't live on fear 13 years ago

Kanaloa1958

All religion is essentially fear based. Fear of the unknown, fear of what happens after death, fear of the future. Remove fear and religion dies. It's largely why they deal in explicit descriptions like this. Graphically intense visualization reinforces the fear. Old timers will remember the old orange "Paradise Lost to Paradise Regained" book and the pictures of what Armageddon would be like. Enough to scare the fear of God into any child which was the target audience for the book.

Freeluna16

I just sent this to my PIMI siblings…I don’t give af if they get mad. This is so fucken disgusting, no wonder why my PIMI mother was crippled with anxiety and it fucked us all up!

PIMO_to_POMO

I struggle to hear what is being said🤔

Far_Criticism226

I just turned it up. Basically, obey or die!

YamMedical4277

Next time I’ll make sure it’s clear.

SonicWaveSurfer

I think it's perfect with the cartoon sound effects in the background. Booooiiiooong! It matches the clownish narrative he is spewing. What a wanker!

Hpyflnstr-all

What was the context? What arrangement was this asshole talking about?

Past_Library_7435

The context is: They are running scared and are attempting to dissuade any form of mutiny against the GB. Don’t question what we say, obedience is the only way to salvation. They have been dishing a version of this scare tactic since forever.

YamMedical4277

The organization.

Hpyflnstr-all

And was this a public talk?

YamMedical4277

Yes

Transformation1975

🖕🖕🖕

Icy_Guidance5035

can't hear it but I guesssooo but they fail to tell you the rubber ducky arrangement. horrible set ups.

Prior-Logic-64

If you cannot leave the JWs it's because you lack a spine, and for some bizarre reason, you seek validation from others who are just as brainwashed as you are/were.  Walk away. Tell them why you're walking away. Live your life. You don't have to even be rude. You can walk away in the most friendly manner possible. If you do, they will talk about you for years to come as the NICEST ever apostate (or whatever term they use).  Stop.Acting.Crazy.

YamMedical4277

💯

Kanaloa1958

Easy to say but for some not so easy to do. Lots of circumstances factor in and for some (I know at least one) the cost of remaining 'in' is far less than the cost of leaving. Nothing to do with spine or validation. It isn't that easy to leave family, including children, to be authentic to yourself. It is good advice but the undercurrent of judgement is cruel.

Prior-Logic-64

If you KNOW you're in a cult and you're not being physically restrained from leaving, your issue is a lack of spine, nothing else.  Grow up. For years I've said that the JWs are a social club for sheep - and you're proving it.

Kanaloa1958

I'm not proving anything. I left. I'm just stating the obvious fact that there are many circumstances to consider. Perhaps your judgementalness is a leftover from your time serving in the cult?

Prior-Logic-64

I was never a JW. Married to an ex JW who chose to leave. No drama. She just left. I wanted nothing to do with them from a religious point of view.

Kanaloa1958

I would wager that things for her might be a bit easier than others. A bit of empathy might be in order though. I personally know someone - an elder no less - whose entire family - in laws, parents, spouse and children - are devout JW including his two young daughters. He is employed by a JW owned business and makes a decent living. His family is devout to the point that if he did leave his relationship with them would be severely damaged if not destroyed. His health is suffering, weight issues, high blood pressure, depression, and yet he perseveres for the sake of his family. I've had my moments where I felt he should just at least cut the religion loose but I'm familiar with his circumstances and it is far more complicated than it might seem to be. As an outsider it is easy to say "Man up and leave" but everyone has a price they are willing to settle at. Some may feel that the personal cost of staying is higher than the cost of leaving but unless you are part of the situation you really can't judge. He clearly feels otherwise and whether or not you respect his decision it is his to make and live with.

Prior-Logic-64

Blah, blah, blah. It's a cult.  Leave. Or stay. Don't make excuses.

Kanaloa1958

Maybe someday you'll be able to understand how other people might feel differently. Not saying it isn't a cult, just that regardless you're dealing with individuals and everyone sees things differently. I guess not everyone is as macho as you profess to be. If only everyone could be as tough as you. Blah, blah, blah.

Prior-Logic-64

If you actually believe that Jesus Christ is your Lord & Saviour - these petty little humanities won't own you. The problem with JW members is that they place the organization ahead of their actual faith in God. Most don't have a genuine faith in God.

Kanaloa1958

The bottom line is that they all serve men. Doctrinal issues are non-issues because they constantly change and they have to believe whatever they are told to believe, act how they are told to act and speak how they are told to speak. Deviate from that and you are watched.

snicker1988

Exactly! My dad has told me multiple times I’m going to die at Armageddon as I haven’t been for years 😂
