DaClarkeKnight

I was in a hotel once and left the TV on when I fell asleep. I woke up to an infomercial where a pastor was saying to mail him prayers with checks. I couldn’t believe it. These guys need to be robbed for everything they have.

MrBearMarshall

You mean forced to return the money they stole/conned from people.

DaClarkeKnight

Yeah, I was thinking in a Robin Hood scenario. Like the people got their money back and more

MrBearMarshall

I got ya. It kills me that these prosperity gospel people take advantage of poor people. They make a mockery of their religions tenets. *tenets replaced tenants

[deleted]

they're worse than lotteries and casinos, in terms of "a tax on the poor" absolute disgust for the "billionaire pastor class". i dont think much good comes from hatred, but i think hatred of these evil and harmful people is about as PG-rated as you can get it.

makyura212

As a Christian pastor, you shouldn't even be that obscenely wealthy. Hell, the very idea of a megachurch goes against plainly stated tenets of Christianity in the Bible, and certainly what Jesus himself preached.

ParadiseValleyFiend

The fucked up thing is that even a class action lawsuit would be pointless since all their victims still believe in them.

The_Lapsed_Pacifist

*tenets Not trying to be a dick, it’s a mistake I used to make.

hrminer92

I did not feel sorry for the pastor that was robbed during a sermon. It was a case of the biggest crook in the neighborhood losing what he conned from others. https://apnews.com/article/religion-new-york-social-media-city-dcf9ff06773e3e7846f0831c893b2845

Great TV/ movie idea: a bunch of criminals trying to turn good robbing fraudster pastors across America to save a orphanage.from closing!

Katanajoe7

You mean dragged into the street and beaten

[deleted]

Eat the rich, robbed works perfectly

MrBearMarshall

Eat the rich. I'm all for it.

WhooshThereHeGoes

Don't put that in your mouth. You don't wanna know where it's been.

uberperk

I'll settle for some involuntary wealth redistribution to start with.

s1lentastro1

the way they try to sell - particularly goons like Mike Murdoch - is that you're not buying a miracle, that's ridiculous. what you're actually doing is sowing a covenant with God. you're putting your faith in him and planting a financial seed. I'm atheist and I would never have the heart to steal from these people - as gullible as they are. I can only imagine what levels of sadistic nature these tv pastors must have to do this shit.

DaClarkeKnight

It should be illegal for them to accept more than $20 dollars from someone per month.

Sirboomsalot_Y-Wing

The problem is, while donations are an important part of Christianity, you’re supposed to donate it to the church and people in need, not the pastors themselves

ChildFriendlyChimp

I worked in a hotel too a few years ago and sometimes we’d have church groups check in for events Some were chill, others were overly rude and insufferable , but anyways The pastors are fucking loaded 2 stood out to me more than the others One had an American Express black card which was my first time holding one And the other was literally covered in jewelry on almost each finger and also on his expensive looking suit, on top of driving a newer year Lincoln sedan And I’m not exaggerating, he had huge jewel encrusted rings on his fingers and pins on his suit The others almost always pulled up in new fancy cars like Escalades and Range Rovers besides other cars which if you googled you’d see they’re from the luxury brands and models And that’s only when they don’t have someone to pick them and drop them off as their personal chauffeurs They always checked in the few high end executive / luxurious suites we had And since we had their personal info on their guest accounts, I would google their addresses and shocker, they had expensive looking homes and sometimes a mansion besides living in the nice / high income areas with nice looking cars on the driveway Sometimes I couldn’t even see their homes since it was in a gated community with 24/7 in-person security by the gate , but the satellite view showed it was rich neighborhoods with huge properties Meanwhile some of their congregation that checked in had to check in groups to save money and some even asked for extra blankets and pillows so they can sleep on the floor for their kids or other adults that can’t have the beds and sofa-beds Edit: I also remembered they would also be gluttonous and serving themselves repeatedly and even asking for to-go plates to fill up and take extra food , I guess to save for later to not eat out but sometimes they’d completely empty us out of food and we’d have to make emergency food trips Breakfast is complimentary but god damn, can they eat And also getting into arguments over the phone in the lobby since many of them had to share rides and would leave without the others

Induced_Karma

When I was an EMT I worked for a private service taking elderly and disabled patients to dialysis. One of my regulars was this old woman who lived in a shitty little house in the hood right across the street from the neighborhood church. The pastor drove a Cadillac and wore Gucci suits and lived in huge house in a nice part of town. The old lady would always be talking shit. Calling the pastor a dirt thief and a shameless hustler and saying he’s robbing the whole neighborhood blind. She was a trip. Her kids and grandkids would be like, “Granny, hush. He’s a man of the lord,” and she’d say, “the lord ain’t got nothing to do with him. I raised y’all to have more sense than that.” When we were taking her home from dialysis she always tried to talk us into stopping at a gas station and picking her up a tall can of Budweiser because her family made her quit drinking.

McFluffy_Butts

I like this old lady.

ChildFriendlyChimp

I want to give this old lady a 6 pack

Ill-Technology1873

Oh and fun fact they didn’t pay a penny in taxes

Jim-Jones

But they got PPP loans AND had them forgiven. > Top SBA official oversaw PPP, then did work for one of its worst offenders PPP Fraud Chronicle — online.

Itzbubblezduh

The pastors under mr.Dollar all have businesses as well.. so that More PPP Money… and SBA One of them is a realtor. Him and his wife tell people in the church they can help them get a new home if they put a lot of money down. They just purchased their 5th million dollar home last year. It’s a lot of smoke and mirrors

Itzbubblezduh

After more digging I found that the pastors are all tied to more money, Real estate agent, social media influencer, actors, chef, old baseball players, and the list goes on and on… who do you think is funding it all?

nononoh8

How about we start by making them pay taxes on their money? They're a bunch of crooks.

RamblinAnnie83

The Bible says, Give to Caesar what is Caesar’s, and to God what is God’s, There’s nothing in there about giving to Pat, Creflo,Jimmy, etc. Pastors and missionaries should be paid for their work; their expenses should be covered, within reason. But they should all be paying taxes. Churches should pay taxes.

KashmirChameleon

Tax the church.

ZookeepergameNo2819

Seems like ALL so-called religions are in it for the money. Grew up poor and catholic and mom and dad always had a few dollars for the church on Sundays, lent and other “appeals.” Attended college in the Midwest and a friend took me to his church of a Protestant denomination he said that all families gave a percentage of income to church. I was blown away.

[deleted]

mostly christianity is the biggest grifters.

PassageAppropriate90

I've heard Pat Robertson say "if you only have $1 to your name you can't afford to not send it to me".

hcsLabs

Don't worry. There's always money in the ~~banana stand~~ sanctuary.

Seedrootflowersfruit

I am an ICU nurse and so many of the elderly watch those infomercials in the middle of the night. It breaks my heart.

hrminer92

These grifters are also encouraging people to include them as beneficiaries on their life insurance policies and retirement accounts so they can continue “supporting the Lord’s work on earth while in Heaven”. 🤮 it was probably done before 2020, but they certainly started encouraging it more since their BS was killing off their best donors. 🤬

Fresh_wasabi_joos

Thank God he's dead now.

JoeDeLaGhetto

Now if God can take Kenneth Copeland next, that would be great.

IBEther

I doubt God wants him. Don’t even think the devil would put up with him. That’s why we’re stuck with him.

[deleted]

That guy is seriously the embodiment of what I think evil would look like. It blows my mind that he has followers.

jeremiahthedamned

they share his values and he is their voice.

Hornybiguy57

Go on YouTube and watch that prick talk about how he needs his new private jet to spread gods word because the devil is on regular planes. What a piece of shit.

HollywoodHault

Do you think if someone started a subreddit where people could pray for others to die that it would be banned or a monster hit?

Birtha_Vanation

profiting off the desperation of others.... sick as fark

tebla

it's like the opposite of what Jesus would do, you might say the Anti-Christ (not that I believe in Jesus)

Sirboomsalot_Y-Wing

Jesus lost his temper very rarely in the Bible. But one of the biggest times he did was when he cast out the merchants in the temple. Bro was flipping tables and taking names

ABloodyCoatHanger

As someone who does believe in Jesus, I can't say I'd call him *the* anti-Christ, but only because he's already dead, and didn't bring about the apocalypse. That's the only reason I've got. However, you can call him *an* anti-Christ bc that means something slightly different, and he totally fits the bill. Total prick he was. I give him a 22% shot of being in Heaven over Hell.

carmelacorleone

I was 5 years old when I first got conned by Pat Robertson. It was Sunday morning and my grandma was letting me watch TV before church. At the time I was a "good little girl", went to Sunday school and then Sunday service, Sunday night service and Wednesday night service. I was such a sanctimonious little brat back then. I remember he was on the TV praying and then he looked into the camera and said, "if you love God, if you love your fellow man, give. Please give. Please give to our ministry so we can continue giving the love of God to the world. Please. Please Give. We need your support now more than ever. It can be any amount, $5, $10, $100. If you already give then consider doubling your pledge. If everyone here would double the amount they pledge we can continue to provide the word of the Lord to everyone everywhere. Give now." I remember his voice. He spoke calmly, earnestly, with such pitiable sadness. I told my grandma I wanted to send him $10. She gladly made the call, used her credit card, and I gave her my $10 allowance. For about a year or two after that I was obsessed. I watched Pat Robertson and his gang. I can't remember if the Praise The Lord Club was still on then and was still called that but I watched something like it. And I gave my allowance every week to that son of a bitch. I was about 15 or 16 when I learned that all that money lined the pockets of false prophets.

Cherry-ColaFunk

Who'd you send your allowance to after that?

drumofgrapejam

Her therapist :/

carmelacorleone

I stopped getting an allowance. My mom's second husband didn't believe in them.

Kveldulfiii

Given what you’d done with yours that seems reasonable. Lol

CapnHowdysPlayhouse

Peter Popoff, another notorious religious grifter, used to just toss checks made out to his ministry that were $5 and $10 because he didn’t find them worth his time. He also gladly accepted whatever jewelry his followers were willing to give, and would toss what he didn’t find valuable. This asshole is STILL on television. Real piece of shit.

lacecozy

What’s your faith now?

carmelacorleone

I do not follow a faith anymore.

ankle_biter50

I'm Christian, heavily Baptist. This is honestly disgusting and apologize that this man is the first exposure you and other people had to Christianity... I apologize that you will most likely think of the very few of us who are kind and considerate to be thieves, robbers, and manipulators...

carmelacorleone

I don't think badly of a majority of Christians. Christians are my family. I know who the bad ones are. I know who the good ones are. I believe there are good Christians more than bad ones.

Ulldimmutwarrior

It’s all a scam- I did renovation construction at the Billy Graham facility years ago. I’ve seen the room where the envelopes with money or checks and a letter asking for prayers to be answered are received and processed. 1. Envelope is opened 2. Check or money is removed 3. Envelope and unread letter goes directly in the trash

More "prayers" so God can hear you.

DIGGYRULES

When my daughter was born with major health problems I used to be up late every night with her. I was heart sore and desperate for comfort. One of those nights there was a prayer show on cable. Pat Robertson or something. I kept it on as I rocked my baby and the sermon actually brought me some solace, which I desperately needed. I’m not religious but this sermon seemed to be directed at my needs and it felt so calming and hopeful. Until the end. When they wrapped up the entire sermon by making sure that the viewer knew that none of the blessings or comfort were meant for us unless we sent them money. That was the minute I was out. Done. Fuck all so-called religious people who are just using poor, desperate and sad people to pad their fat bank accounts.

HartyInBroward

You were desperate and vulnerable when you first encountered the scammer and still had the wherewithal to not give your money away. A huge part of me wonders how a person could be monumentally dumb enough to give away their money.

ThemChecks

I was donating 20 a month to a local pro-LGBT homeless shelter managed by a church. Pretty hardcore, savage atheist here but I figured maybe it'd help some people.

CATSCRATCHpandemic

Shit I cannot wait till he is buried so I can dance and piss on his grave.

I_Stan_Kyrgyzstan

Good news!

Empanadapunk90

I would say any pastor who's name is literally Creflo Dollar should be a red flag

Useful-Perspective

And I would say any pastor asking for your money is a red flag. In the words of Bono/U2 - "the god I believe in isn't short of cash, mister"

[deleted]

This is the little detail that seems to be forgotten on reddit since Pat's death - it's not just that he was conservative, or Christian, or lobbied politically for right-wing views - it's that he used "God's message" to get people's hard-earned money. I also don't want this to sound snarky, especially because my Grandma currently gives money to Jimmy Swaggart that she really doesn't have, but if you're the type of person to give your money to a televangelist, you probably *need* that money more than others. Pat Robertson created real evil in this world and if he was right about even 10% of what he preached, he sure as hell knows that now.

BefreiedieTittenzwei

Televangelists are all grifters and thieves.

QuintinStone

They're parasites.

El_Che1

Trump has entered the chat.

2723brad2723

He knew what he was doing. Jesus was just a tool of his grift.

Building-Careful

This is just heartbreaking

bobbywright86

She could’ve been giving you that money to have a better life, but instead she gave it to millionaire pat robertson to live an extravagant life. Unfortunately my parents are the same way

freemason85

Righteous Gemstones on HBO makes serious fun of these so called pastors. How we went from Jesus whipping people who profited off of God to the current state of religious "leaders" asking for money is laughable. And people who believe that giving money to religious organizations while those receiving the money spend lavishly on cars and planes is hypocritical. You want God's grace then donate food to a food bank to help the less fortunate. Organized religion is just a scam that preys on the poor while claiming they help the poor while they rape little kids behind closed doors.

RamblinAnnie83

Yeah, the Bible clearly instructs you to help people in need, in material as well as spiritual means. But even back then, they had the charlatans.

affemannen

How is it that someone can call themselves a pastor and go by the name of creflo dollar and still be taken seriously? He even named himself a grifter and people are just like.... Sure, this guy most def speaks the word of god.

hot-monkey-love

I used to watch for the mailman every day so I could get the letters from those people before my mom did. They would tell her to "sow seeds of faith" by sending her last dollars to them, and she would write out her check for five dollars while we were living on outdated bread and welfare cheese.

ReluctantSeer

Religion is the longest run scam, ever.

ItalianNose

I’m Christian and I find it disgusting. No one should be accepting money for PRAYERS. Literally preying off of people’s pain and emotions

El_Che1

She didn’t GIVE hard enough.

FattyMcBlobicus

I don’t believe in hell, but if it does exist, the people who use the shroud of religion to steal money from poor people are certainly in the lowest fucking tier of it.

TechnoDuckie

I celebrate the death of that piece of shit.

CalabreseAlsatian

Jello Biafra got it right with “Religious Vomit”: They all claim that they have the truth That'll set you free Just give 'em all your money and they'll set you free Free for a fee They all claim that they have 'the Answer' When they don't even know the question They're just a bunch of liars They just want your money They just want your consciousness

Jedi_Mindtrix53

It’s kind of fitting that he died during Pride Month

PutinLovesDicks

I personally love it when evil people die. Don't just not mourn him, celebrate that he died. The world is objectively better without him grifting desperate people to enrich himself.

sexylegs0123456789

Desperation is what these sharks prey on (pun intended). They don’t care at all if you’re rich or poor, you’re dollars and no sense to them.

Diaza_Kinutz

Funny thing is she could have prayed and not sent the money and it would have been equally effective.

RustedAxe88

John Oliver has a great episode on this kind of thing.

that_greenmind

These types of people make me hope for a god, because that means theres a special place in hell for greedy SOB's like them.

BlaqSam

I don't get it, never heard of a religion that needed money to get in, isn't that the point of religion, the faith not money. Hate hearing these. I'm not religious but if you are great. Guy I worked about lost his mind when his grandmother passed and she left in her will, a $250K check to one of those TV Pastors. And the will stated, was enough to them to pray and give her family a better life. I think a new house could have done that.

echoquadrant

This has been a token of Christianity for hundreds of years. The Indulgences created during the Black Death absolved the rich from their sins while the poor lived with the fact that they were condemned to hell because they couldn’t afford them

Itzbubblezduh

That’s my daughters uncle and one of the pastors on Mr. dollars team is my daughter’s grandfather. I can say their whole staff “plays with money” and will judge you. They only “bless” the people they want to “bless”. With everyone else’s money of course… (my daughter is not included in their “blessing” and she cant attend any of their events or family gatherings because I have yet to submit to their commands/demands ….) Strange…… I know

LeveragedPittsburgh

People need to learn to question their beliefs early in life.

Steiney1

These grifters used our parents and grandparents' love for their families and their faith to enrich themselves. My Grandmother wrote Robertson and who knows how many others checks all the time. They got people to vote Republican in exchange for FCC licenses in rural areas where they sat up high power transmissions to people with 4 channels. This was initially payback for Public Television popping up in the 70s, and Sesame Street with kids of all colors co-existing.

Cauda_Pavonis

Fuck Pat Robertson. Ding dong the witch is dead. 💃💃💃🕺🕺🕺🕺

shiningmuffin

Why would you *PAY* a pastor for a mere prayer? The literal point of being a Christian is that you can pray yourself no? The god they believe in is doing the work not the people praying wtf

kevon87

I mean, if your sending your money to a guy named Creflo Dollar…

MonicaPVD

Its almost like they're fucking with people, daring them. In Latin America there's a megapastor called, wait for it, Cash Luna.

Odd_Rate7883

My great grandfather was illiterate, worked his whole life in the coal mines, or doing other rough labor. He saved up everywhere he could because he was literally dirt poor, and worked really hard to have a nice house and live comfortably. My dad told me he ran into him at the small town bank, years before I was born. Asked my dad, half ashamed, to help him read his ststement, he didn't quite underatand it. His second wife had sent his savings to these monsters. He found out he was nearly broke.

Generallyawkward1

Rest in piss Pat Robertson

Darkovika

It breaks my heart what people do in the name of religion. So many foul people in this world claiming to be good. My mom always told me, “The devil isn’t going to be ugly. The devil’s going to be beautiful when he comes to you.”

Starch_Lord69

You shouldnt have to pay a pastor to pray for you. Pray for yourself.

inevitabledrill

Grift ass churches. Same with the Mormon church. It was drilled into my brain my entire childhood the only way to be happy and get blessings is to pay 10% of ur income to the church 🤣 No wonder Christian communities are plagued with MLMs

verukazalt

All of those TV evangelists are NOT preaching a saving gospel. They are preaching to line their pockets. EVERY. SINGLE. ONE.

BubonicBabe

I delivered mail for seven years and loved and hated it. I got to know a lot of my older customers and so many would leave me candy, or apples from their trees, or veggies from their garden. Just amazingly sweet people. I loved some of them and got to know them well. And I hated it partially because I was constantly delivering junk mail from predator pastors requesting money, and subsequently I’d pick up their money that they mailed out week after week. A lot of these people lived in trailers, multiple strays and animals they were taking care of, getting meds from the VA regularly, small plots of land (some were still trying to pay off or renting even at an older age). It was just so sad. It made me even more of an “angry atheist” when I lost my faith.

redlightbandit7

My mom sends her church $300-400 a month for tithes when she can barely make ends meet. And she terrified she’ll go to hell if she stops. It’s so sad.

heroinsteve

If I wanna lose small amounts of money for a glimmer of hope, I'll buy a lotto ticket. At least with that there is a realistic .0000015% chance (probably lower tbh) of actually gaining something. It's not a lot, but It's better than 0 and I at least have an understanding of my odds and im not being tricked.

Furrypocketpussy

does any other country have televangelists like this or is it another US-only thing?

TehJohnny

It's a real shame, dude represents what I think of most Christians these days, people who are only pretending to be good so they can earn enough points to avoid going to Hell, they only do it for the reward of Heaven, and I know not every one of them are like this, I've met a few people who are Christian and sacrifice a lot to help those less fortunate get by, they're just not the ones going around shoving their religion in your face and exploiting people with it. I understand how they're able to do this, desperate people sre easily exploited. I see my mom, who was never religious, praying to God the older she gets, is it because she's afraid of what happens after death? I don't know, but a ghoul like Pat Robinson would exploiit that and tell her if she gave him money she'd have eternal prosperity in Heaven, just give up what money she has now. /rant

[deleted]

Televangelists are genuinely one of the groups people who are going straight to hell, using the Lord's name to scam innocent people.

Mindless_Fruit_2313

Blows my mind that there’s a televangelist with the name of “Dollar”.

Vintage_girl123

Why do these people think you have to have money in order to pray?? You dnt even need a church in order to pray..Isn't that what it says on the dead sea scrolls, something to that effect..Something about not needing walls to pray..I remember seeing a documentary on it. It's the biggest scam of all time.

myguydied

I mean, your TV pastor's surname is Dollar, surely alarm bells would ring...

No-Dark-9414

As an atheist I'm sorry you're mom joined a cult

DarkSide-TheMoon

She wasnt tricked by just pat Robertson. Her parents made her believe in religion and christianity. Thats where it started. Good parents dont indoctrinate their kids in christianity and other fairy tales. Religion is a helluva drug and the pushers know it.

SoWokeIdontSleep

It's no coincidence churches have always been rich and try to get as cozy as possible with local governments. We should make sure fuckers like him don't have a single night of peaceful rest.

RealisticExpert4772

Pat Robertson is/was an evil man…. He calculated how to separate money from people could not afford to give away a nickel much less the hundreds, n thousands he hoodwinked from folks over the years. Sadly he was very very good at it

SameEntry4434

My single mother of 7 tithed our welfare money (1 year post her divorce in the 1970s) to the evil grifter.

mildlysceptical22

I was channel surfing many years ago and paused on a channel that one of these shills was on. He looked into the camera and pleaded, ‘send money!’ I cracked up and surfed on. I’ve never understood how anyone would give these crooks their money.

th3_sc4rl3t_k1ng

And they sell religion as "morality" 🤨

Bertybassett99

"Pay for prays" and "the lottery", "betting shops" are the poormans tax

ResidentImpact1739

Yea if a pastor asks you for money to "plant a seed" for a miricle or use any similar wording run away, those people are called prosperity preachers. It is truly mind bogling how popular they are. Literal leahes that prey on desperate people. God does not expect you to swipe your card ok, he is not a cashier and he does not have a post terminal. Donating willingly is another thing entirely and it does not need to be to a church. You can buy someone lunch and if you did it from your heart it would be like you did it to Jesus, and every time you are mean to someone it is like you are doing that to him aswell.

AFaded

This is why education is so important and should be free.

nopulsehere

At the height of PTL Heritage USA, Jim Baker they said that they needed to raise a million dollars a day to keep everything going! Of course we found out all that was bs when he got busted. I lived in charlotte which was 30 minutes away. It was a big deal. I would watch their show and almost puke. Literally telling people that they should send them money and not worry about the electric bill? And people would.

FanQC

You didn't *pay hard enough

Jhill520

This sums up my childhood.. Momma telling everyone that would listen I was going to be a preacher. Taking vacations to PTL Club. Tent revivals.. Pat Robertson was always religious special education. I’m glad he’s dead, I hope some other religion besides his was right.

One_Atmosphere_8557

It genuinely hurts my brain to remember that there is some grifter out there named CREFLO DOLLAR who dupes gullible people into sending him money

Itzbubblezduh

He has a ATM on his church too…. Just in case you don’t have cash on hand

omghorussaveusall

Fuck Creflo Dollar as well. Dude is crooked as a creek.

There’s just so much corruption in everything these days. How do people live with themselves, stealing money from people with so much love? How does their conscience not stab at their brain? Do they just not care that what they’re doing is bad?

Successful-You1961

One of Millions of sad stories, such as yours. IMHO TV Preachers are the WORST.

ArdentFecologist

Could have sent that money to her actual kid

[deleted]

It’s a good thing these guys don’t have to pay taxes, I mean, then who’d do the lords work for the poor and destitute?

dryandbland

I won’t only not mourn, I loudly exclaimed my joy when I learned he died. Fuck televangelists. I hope Copeland is next

rwk2007

And it was tax free. The US government colluded with these criminals.

feltsandwich

There is no hell, but if there were, this evangelical would be punished for all the hate he brought into the world, while he called it love. He spat in the face of his savior every day of his adult life. He rejected God's children. He ignored his savior's teachings. That means he worshiped the anti-christ. No, I don't believe there is forgiveness for him. The Earth is a better place now that Pat Roberson is dead.

ChrisNolan73

Did he have a single redeeming quality?

AdjunctAngel

my bet is that they will try their best to keep his grave site a secret so millions of people don't go there to piss and shit all over it.

Willzohh

I'm sorry but I 100% blame her and every other dimwit who thinks they can buy themselves into heaven. Only a moron could look at their pastor's diamond pinkie ring & Rolls Royce and think a worthy cause was getting the money. I pray, may every church parishioner give the very last dime of their income to the church of their choice until they are homeless and hungry. At that point their pastor will give them "thoughts and prayers".

[deleted]

Her prayers were answered, in a way. This girl isn't going to repeat her mom's mistakes, and will have a better life.

Important_Ebb_6019

Where's his grave going to be? I have an idea for a public bathroom

[deleted]

You know someone is a real piece of shit when your super, over the top religious family says he's a douche.

jdockpnw777

ALL religion is corrupt.

kabhaq

The man is rotting in hell for taking the lords name in vain and false prophecy.

Organic_South8865

My grandmother sent money to all sorts of grifters like this. She would get a ton of mail from these places. I remember one letter said something like "You're small gift was appreciated but you need to do more to see the light of God." I was able to show her the extravagant lifestyles these guys live. Multiple mansions, helicopters/planes, cars, etc. She was disgusted. She actually thought the money was being put to use to help people. Maybe a tiny portion goes towards actually helping people (soup kitchens etc) but a majority goes right into these evil men's pockets. They push the idea you have to give a bunch of money to get into heaven and that's just so messed up.

Keylimepietime

Thank god he's dead.

DogPawsSmellOfFritos

Always remember that Pat Robertson did not wake up every day thinking how to make life worse for everyone not a white Christian male - that was just a passion project. Pat Robertson’s focus was on robbing the elderly and poor by selling them something that didn’t exist. Make no mistake: he knew this. The Gospel is clear on praying loudly in public. Broadcasting it? He knew. He knew and enriched himself by doing it. I suspect everyone who wakes up in hell is surprised to some level but not him. I’m just glad he lived long enough to see the nightmare of gay people eating Honey Nut Cheerios on TV. May his name be forgotten.

TommmyVR

With the internet, is only a matter of time before religion dissapears. People will be informed and wont get tricked, wars wont be fought in names of imaginary friends. And I know I will get downvoted in this era, but better times are comming....

Single_Raspberry9539

He’s a piece of shit who is probably rotting in hell rn

linderlouwho

What a gigantic waste of money. But if she could’ve spent on her family.

[deleted]

If hell exists, it will be chock full of people like him. Good riddance.

Nopenagada

Pat Robertson lived a life of incredible luxury, and left a $100 million estate. I doubt he ever mentioned Matthew 19:24..."Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of God.” He wasn't just rich. He was fabulously rich.

Royal-Orchid-2494

Not to take away from the hate people have for the guy ( I never heard about him until just yesterday ), but isn’t this what every church does?

A_Aron4

He’s in hell if that exists or he was reborn as an earthworm

LowLifeExperience

These people are using Jesus for what he was originally intended: control.

raylab810

#truth and they are all cut of the same cloth. Joel Osteen who gets millions but won’t open his church in 2017 after hurricane Harvey. Feck them all

Cocstarr1

I hope #creflo got that Jet he wanted!

Split0069

Is this the devil pastor that owns his own jet?

Educational-Heat4472

Ya he was a pretty much a shit person. I wouldn't shed a tear. If I was religious I'd say he's rotting in hell right about now.

inquisitiveeyebc

A legalized scam, nothing more, nothing less

AStreamofParticles

She would have done much better giving to the poor or looking after herself!

Takemytwocent5

Oh yeah pat Robertson died… i forgot, heheh.

jalahjava_

Mourn is the opposite of what I'll be doing.

The-Bole

a fool and their money

[deleted]

I’m sorry your mom was duped. I’m sorry to anyone’s who’s parents willfully give away their money to snake oil salesmen

Cleric_1A

The TV evangelists are the most poisonous things to christianity
