I was thinking, how long until some "I'm not like the others" teenager comes up with historical figures because they're obsesssed with periods like middle ages or paganism?
I mean, either way, there's such a small number of people on the entire planet with real DID. It's so rare in fact, that psychiatrists often don't even know for sure if it's a real disorder or just a constellation of other disorders.
So none of the DID content you're seeing on tiktok is realistic. Maybe one in *several thousand* of the people on tiktok claiming to have DID, actually do. It's such an incredibly rare disorder and people seem to be forgetting that, there's literally just a small handful of people who have genuine, documented DID.
I'm completely convinced these people think anything that ever appears in their imagination is automatically an alter. Like they daydream about some bullshit and everything in their daydream they just think is an alter. Someone needs to teach them what an imagination is.
